I want to start by saying the guys who actually carried out our move were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, they were polite, hardworking and a good laugh — a couple of things got broken during the move but we didn't think anything of it at the time, as these things happen. The lads themselves couldn't be faulted.
Unfortunately, it's a real shame that the company behind them has let them down so badly. During the move, their removal lorry dragged clumps of tarmac onto our driveway and caused visible damage to the surface. This happened on the 25th of June, and months later we are still fighting to get it properly resolved.
Despite having insurance in place, Britannia Lanes have refused to accept liability or cover the actual cost of repair. Independent quotes we've had to source ourselves have come back between £450+VAT for spot repairs and £825+VAT to redo the whole driveway (since a patch repair would look mismatched against the rest of the drive) — realistically over £1,000 once everything is accounted for. Instead of covering this, they have offered a flat £90 "goodwill gesture," explicitly without admission of liability, and have now told us this is their final position.
Communication throughout the claims process has also been very slow, with long gaps between emails and call-backs.

Such a shame, because the moving team themselves deserve five stars — it's the company's handling of the damage afterwards that lets the whole experience down. Would not recommend based on how this was dealt with.

Great team arrived on time worked hard very quickly and efficiently, very friendly and helpful , went above and beyond with their service . Took great care with our belongings , we will certainly use them again .

Awful service. Here are some issues we faced for our international move.

1. Lack of clear communication on the delivery date of our items. I had to chase them multiple times and raise a formal complaint before they actually provided me a delivery date. End result - we were stuck waiting nearly a month for our items to be delivered, with no communication on when we could expect them.

2. During the move, several of our furniture and items were damaged (sofa can no longer assembled, monitor damaged, bed bent out of shape, crib supports broken and then sellotaped! etc) .

3. Now I’m stuck chasing the company again to reimburse me. Despite having paid extra for the MoveProtect insurance, they are now offering to pay me a pittance for most of the damaged furniture and flat out refusing for rest, claiming it was already damaged or other such shocking excuses. Appalling behaviour.

Absolutely brilliant service from Phil and the rest of the 5-man York team, who made our long transfer to Somerset fun and stress-free. Extremely competitive, thoroughly professional and caring - what more do you need? We would hire them again in a heartbeat. Well played!

Service information was prompt and informative

The movers turned up on time, were very professional and efficient and had us all packed up within two hours. We did not get out keys to just before five in the afternoon, but the movers were very quick and helpful in getting us moved quickly. They could not have been more helpful.

Excellent service from Britannia Movers. Graham and Pagey were our removals team over three days. We also had Tom on day one. They were professional and polite, efficient and considerate. Thanks guys! Also thank you to Shirley in the office who was always a pleasure to speak to on the phone. Such a good company. Highly recommended.

Amazing company
Communication was brilliant across the board . Jamie was so nice and easy going a real nice lad who did his utmost with packing really put my elderly mum at ease . Jamie also did the move with Eddie couldn’t fault them made it so easy for us the other end ! Fantastic

We had a crew of two who arrived promptly and immediately got stuck in. Their work rate was terrific without sacrificing care and attention in any way.
It was a two day move and both loading and unloading was completed in good time. No breakages or damage was experienced. We would recommend Britannia to anybody and especially Marcus and Jason

Whilst I was not quite ready the team of three took this in their stride and did all packing and moving with great care. Being a bank holiday weekend my possessions were kept safe with Britannia until Tuesday when joined by another team of two they delivered everything with the same care and attention. Their customer servicer was excellent.

This is the second time I have used this company from their offices in Heckington, Lincolnshire. I wanted to just say every single aspect of my dealings with them was perfect, from ringing up to arrange a quote (Robyn/Katie remembered me!) to signing off the move as complete. The removal crew Mark adn Elliot were great, really efficient, professional and friendly as were the office team. I highly recommend and will be using them again. From start to finish, everything went smoothly

Contacted these guy's to move 26 packages about 500kg of goods to asia.
From John and Andy packing our goods in Staffordshire to those goods arriving with us in perfect condition i have to say the went above and beyond.
Matthew walked us through the whole process including insurance and showed great patience as we had no experience of such dealings.
Also lets add a war into the scenario and the world oceans in chaos..... but all our goods arrived in perfect condition.
Would recommend these guys to friends and family.

In what has been an horrendous experience regarding insurance repairs that have been ongoing through my insurance companies nominated companies.
My dealings with Brittannia Movers have been the only ones I would recommend.
They have kept me totally informed throughout and any queries or concerns I have had when I have spoken to Katie she has answered and dealt with them excellently.
Removal and return dates were on schedule on time and carried out excellently without any problems on the arranged dates by the staff on site
So a big thankyou well deserved
