Evaluating 135 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently complained about receiving steep and unfair parking fines despite making valid payments and following the posted rules. Reviewers also highlighted confusing signage, poor facility locations, and unexpected tariff changes that easily caught motorists completely off guard. Some reviewers were not happy with the customer service and appeal process, noting that complaints were routinely dismissed without fair consideration. People felt trapped by aggressive debt collection practices and severe financial charges for minor human mistakes.

Robbing Bas***ds

This is an unanswerable question. However. Improve? You might accept that sometimes when people park at a hospital, they don't know how long they will be there. They may be in a hurry to get in. They go through the motions of offering and appeal and the dismiss it. Not based on the grounds of the appeal. I explained I had a relative in hospital. and there was a change in their medical situation whilst I was there, resulting in my stay being longer than initially expected I suggested the machine was confusing when in a rush. Britannia's defence for fining me was. There is adequate signage!!! Avoid whenever. A bent as f*** company, making money and exploiting an already bad situation. Money orientated thieves.

Be very careful using any of their car parks and avoid if possible

We entered the car park in Carlisle to go for lunch in a nearby Wetherspoons. Although we have a Blue Badge we were unsure of the rules so paid for parking, went for lunch, returned to the car park about an hour later and left. A few weeks later we received a parking fine, I replied with a copy of my bank statement showing the payment and mentioned that we had a blue badge. They replied a couple of weeks later asking for a copy of the badge which I sent. They have now replied very generously reducing the fine from £100 to £20 if we pay by 30/11. But if we want to appeal:
Make an appeal to POPLA - The Independent Appeals service. Please note that if you wish to appeal to POPLA, you will lose the right to pay the Parking Charge at the discounted rate, and should POPLA's decision not go in your favour you will be required to pay the full amount. If you opt to pay the Parking Charge you will be unable to appeal to POPLA.

By law we are also required to inform you that Ombudsman Services provides an alternative dispute resolution service that would be competent to deal with your appeal. However, we have not chosen to participate in their alternative dispute resolution service. As such should you wish to appeal then you must do so to POPLA, as explained above.

That's what I call having you over a barrel. I have neither the headspace or the inclination to appeal so I am now about to pay the £20.

I hope that the owners of this company "enjoy" every penny of this money they have stolen from us and also enjoy the resultant karma from stealing money from innocent citizens, especially disabled people.

Overcharge and are scammers

Overcharge and are scammers. Went to park at 6.50pm for dinner at Westquay. Charging me £7.20 for just a couple hours parking because I went over the 8pm mark. Anything over 8pm, even for just a little over will charge you £5+ on top.

Shame I can't leave a zero or minus zero star rating. This company issues fines incorrectly, relying on people paying up, rather than the hassle of appealing. They are downright chancers who should be closed down and the management in jail for fraud. They are doing this non-stop in Bromley, Kent and say they will sort the issue of the cameras out, but don't.

Received a Paring Charge Notice from Britannia Parking, fair enough my fault! However, when paying was directed to Ecom6 Limited, where I had to give my Address, e-mail address and telephone number. Now two companies have my details. Britannia Parking fair enough but Ecom6 Limited not sure!

Avoid this Company

This company can improve by not charging Blue Badge holders to park in their disabled bays. More clearer signage and clearly show where the cameras are located.
Southampton West Quay is a prime example where Britannia-Parking are carrying out their unscrupulous practices! West Quay used to be free for Blue Badge holders and the new charge for parking has been introduced very sneakily. Park anywhere else and avoid Britannia Parking robbers

If I could give them 0 stars I would

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Money laundering scamming companies who all they think about is the money. I paid £5 to park at there car park I got 2 separate tickets one was slightly covering the other one where you could still clearly see the time however they still proceed to give me a £60 ticket. Can’t do anything right! Paid for my parking like a good citizen yet still got a ticket so Whats the point. Disgusting

Appalling

We, like most hard working people in Southampton have been penalised with the parking charges that have come into place, without much, or hardly any information around the car park, of the new changes! Same issue on the APP, my Son pays for his stay each time. He Has been using this car park for over a year, as it was convenient and trying to save on parking fees! he is a Teenager working part time, But with no update or sufficient information on the app. Been charged after 8pm...only recently its come to our attention as we have had more than a handful of letters in the post ..if any one else is pursuing this with a solicitor please comment and leave details.
Southampton City, has become a horrible placer for Driving, the Shops Retailers will suffer...just makes you want to stick to online, and not support the local businesses.

They don’t deserve even 1 star

They don’t deserve even 1 star.
Recently received a blue badge due to severe lung condition. Parked several times in same month , after checking with attendant that 3 hours free .
….all good
A few days later noticed after parking and return to car the signs looked a little different….. Looked and found conditions had changed for blue badge holders. Spoke to a parking attendant we had previously seen who said this happened over previous day or so.
Date of alleged contravention 24 August 2025.
At no stage did we see any indication alerting users to the FUTURE changes.

Others caught out by this also…. Some on multiple occasions!!
Check out Southampton echo .
Awful way for a company to behave … no moral compass, for this organisation.
Bunch of “chancer crooks “

Would give less than a star if I could…

Would give less than a star if I could - this company is a nothing more than a racketeering and extortion ring design to inflict maximum pain to their unfortunate ‘customers’.

They lead the way in displaying the gold standard of how to royally screw the very people who keep their lights on.

Vile company BUT!!!

Vile company. I paid for a ticket, but I used my registration, not my girlfriends' car that I was driving. I appealed IMMEDIATELY. Then NOTHING. Then a final reminder. And a claim they denied my appeal. I received NO email. They're basically criminals.

ADDITIONAL.
I live-chatted to another human - this one had a heart - and he gave me another week to pay the reduced fine (which I did within 5 minutes).

Their practices are AWFUL. They put the burden on YOU to chase you own case. They try to make you wait until deadlines are up, then they happily tell you that you need to give them more money.

But they hired someone with a heart and I'm grateful to him.

Despicable company

Despicable company. This type of parking fine should be banned. Look at their companies house records. Huge profits for people’s misfortune. I was 5 minutes over my stay and charged £60. There was a huge queue in the toy shop so had to wait. Criminal behaviour that should be stopped. How do the owners sleep at night? Total scumbags.

Car park robber

Their machines should always be fully functional, they should never offer the option to pay by card, as what appears to be a fully legitimate means of payment, results in non payment and a subsequent fine. Added to the painstaking aggravation, they reject any form of appeal.

Unfortunately I can not give a zero for this company. There machine did not work in Travelodge hotel in Romford. I was advised by Travelodge to press the customer service button to get a discount but nobody responded so I had to pay the full charge. I was going to appeal but they make the process as difficult as possible with no email address just a phone number with answerphone message saying I had to appeal this by post. I have decided not to appeal as would cost me even more money. I will be avoiding their car parks in the future and staying at hotels with these car parks attached.

Absolute garbage.

Absolute garbage.
10 minutes late for parking after a walk and some lunch out.
£100 for being 10 minutes late back to a car park that was almost empty and not like people were waiting to park up.
You can absolutely not get through to a person to talk to them about the fine, you are passed around a circus of options to press and not one of them puts you through to someone to speak to. You can appeal by email eventually and they do look at it for you. The lack of personal interaction is garbage. This is purely to make money from people as the condition of the car park was very poor...pot holes and half a large rocky/ gravel area.
Be very careful with this company indeed.

Unbelievable- someone needs to report to watchdog!

Unbelievable- someone needs to go watchdog or report this private car parking company - who are so difficult to contact can only via appeal and after one appeal that’s it they say it’s ended and threaten you will pay more if go ombudsman or pass to debt collectors. A bullish and ruthless approach and no consideration of poor signage or markings. I have photos of unclear marking and they only photo they show is a zoomed in photo of one particular where u can just a bout see line. Unbelievable!

Change the parking regulations at west…

Change the parking regulations at west quay without putting up big signs on entry, if you're going to make changes then you have to advertise that on entry for people to see. All you've done is change the signs by the pay machines.
I used that car park with my disabled son and used his badge so was free parking before the new rule. It's only because we heard other people moaning about having to pay that we checked the signs, now ended up with 2 parking charges because you can't notify people properly.
Absolute joke of a company
