Brookwide Inc bad experience
I needed to transport my daughter’s car from New York to Tampa. I found Brookwide online, saw that they had decent reviews, and received a reasonable quote, so I decided to use them. They asked me to Zelle a $150 deposit, and I signed the contract.
The car was supposed to be picked up on August 18 because I had a flight to Tampa the following morning. I was told that I would receive the pickup time by 6 PM the latest on August 17.
At around 5:30 PM on August 17, I contacted the company asking for an update. They told me they were still working on it. At approximately 6:30 PM, I received a message saying they were unable to find a driver because drivers did not have enough loads…is this a joke??
At this point I was extremely concerned because I was flying out in one day early morning and had very little time to make other arrangements. However, I still had hope in them
The next morning, I contacted them again hoping they had found a driver. I was told, “Please give me some time, we’re working on it.” At that point, I told them I could no longer rely on an uncertain pickup and asked them to cancel and return my $150 deposit because I needed to make other transportation arrangements.
Later that evening, around 6:30 PM, they contacted me saying a driver might be able to pick up the car around 10 PM. By then I had already waited long enough and could not risk waiting until 10 PM for a possible pickup when I had a flight the following morning and was Forced to make different arrangements
They are now refusing to return my $150 deposit, claiming that they were working on the order and that I refused the 10 PM pickup
Because I had to arrange transportation at the last minute, I ended up paying significantly more to get the car transported. This situation caused a tremendous amount of unnecessary stress right before our trip
What disappoints me most is that instead of acknowledging that they did not have a confirmed driver when promised and returning my $150 deposit, they are refusing to refund it.
I would not recommend to anyone to do business with this company!!!
