Almost fell for it

Almost fell for it, in the fine print of one of the check boxes it stipulates that if you do not cancel within 7 days you get dinged for $20+/month. And I'm sure the canceling process is ridiculously hard..been down this road before with credit check companies. no thanks.
These type of practices should be illegal period.

Not the most helpful but they were able to refund me

Got billed for a service I never signed up for. Pretty upset out this. I used their service once for to look up a car for free it maybe a couple dollars. Weeks later I get charged $28 with no explanation about this. I asked for a refund and they told me they would cancel but haven't refunded me yet. Super scammy. The original info I got about the car was useless as well. Save your money and use car fax.

Edit: after emailing several times with them, they did agree to refund my payment. Apparently I had signed up for trial initially.

I tried to use Bumper.com to do a VIN…

I tried to use Bumper.com to do a VIN research, when it came to entering my telephone number it would not accept my valid cell phone number, however they did charge my PayPal account with their $5.00 fee.
Without them having a "valid" phone number I am unable to open any line of inquiry and cannot access their "help" line, and am unable to get the report I requested

Incorrect information

Their report said the car was fine and had no accidents. When I went to license it, the insurance agent said it was a rebuild and that insurance would cost extra as a result.

Fortunately, I was still able to back out of the transaction.

Total bait and switch. I thought I was paying for one report, but then I was billed for a subscription and I didn't even get the report I ordered. This Bumper.com website is a scam in the first degree.

I was lured in by a "free trial" single…

I was lured in by a "free trial" single look up and then I cancelled so that I would not be billed for a subscription. Low and behold, my credit card statement showed a $1 "trial fee", a monthly subscription charge of $27.99, a fee with a Netherlands affiliate company for 15, PLUS a "cancellation" fee with that same Netherlands affiliate for $21.95!!! When I tried to contact the company using their phone number, I was put into a useless phone tree that wouldn't let me connect because I didn't have an account number. After using their website to cancel yet again, I received an email stating that I had officially cancelled my subscription---which I had never subscribed to in the first place! I had to go to my credit card company to resolve this in order to stop being billed. A nightmare. DON'T USE BUMPER---THEY ARE A SCAM. There ought to be regulatory laws for companies like this to be forced to adhere to to protect consumers.

Used bumper to check the history on a vehicle I was buying. This service is completely fraud. It said the title was clean which it was not. I canceled service with bumper then they tried charging my card twice for $30

Scam!

Put my info in and out stated vin was found. Generated the " report " then asked for payment. Paid the 5$ then it said it could not find the vin. Re-entered the information but still not found. Do not use this service. Scam!

Bad service

Hi. I used this service only once to check 1 vin. After that 3 months they charged fee $27.99. Be very attentive and read all small letters before click any buttons. It turns out that it was trial period for $1 for 7 days.... after that you will have to pay monthly $27.99... small letters tells you about it.. It was a great mistake to use this service... I spend $84. The site is not working for me (i see "you're blocked"), only when i found the email of support i send the letter to cancel the account and requested the money back. The subscribtion was canceled quickly (automatically), but refund i did't get now. I didn't use service for 3 months. Service have to send my money back, my account 084231697. Not recommend this service. Bad politic.

We have had a horrible time with recurring charges. Closed a subscription in April and they are charging monthly fees on a closed account.
