Butter and Crust Bakery is a wonderful small local business that I love supporting. Their pastries are absolutely fantastic and always so tasty, with a great selection to choose from. The new savoury pastries they introduced a few months ago are a real game changer! I also love their homemade jam – it tastes so authentic and fresh. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality baked goods 😊Keep up the great work!

Started off well. Bread is nice enough and the croissants are too.
The main issue is definitely with delivery. First time it was left outside the block despite clear instructions and it was covered in some juice. From then on the deliveries were coming later and later until this week we got our breakfast pastries at 12 o’clock. I now cancelled my subscription and will be going back to ordering fresh bread and pastries on Deliveroo or similar.

Top quality produce, promptly delivered. Imaginative range of food options, with pastries that change every week. The sourdoughs are excellent. Helpful and responsive customer service.

The only things I would change are firstly the ordering arrangements, which assume weekly or fortnightly delivery, but no one-off arrangement. This means that, unless you want a regular delivery, you need to message to say you only want a single delivery.

Secondly some of the packaging - in particular the yogurt - is not very sustainable. It is thick plastic.

Great product, but terrible logistics. 2 out of 3 deliveries failed. One delivered to wrong address, the other one delivered late.

Out of 4 deliveries, 2 didn't arrive, 1 all eggs were broken. Its not a reliable service. They wait until 9 to tell you that they cannot deliver.

However on the 25% chance order it is delivered, the quality is very good. Only issue is bread is baked day before.

Sadly I just cannot recommend Butter & Crust. I've tried them a handful of times (11 deliveries) and their quality control is quite poor. Out of the 11 times I had major issues in 4 orders which ranged from the wrong coffee order, overproofed bagels, stale bread, stale pastries, absent items, and delivered to the wrong address. The products they supply (juice, coffee, pastries) are generally of much better quality than the products they make/produce, e.g. bagels, bread, eggs. and it's really obvious when you get both in the same order. As in my most recent order the pastries were fantastic but the bagels overproofed, and bread already tasted 2 days old by the time I got it. I wouldn't be surprised if the bread was baked on a friday and given to me on the sunday morning delivery. On the positive they do have good customer service and are generally very good at issuing refunds with issues. Overall I would love to recommend this company but sadly I just can't because of the poor quality control.

Very good bread and pastries, good service (nice sunday treat), definitiely recommend. The list of products, especially bakery products is a bit limited and could be expanded for more choice.

What I loved - convenience of having breakfast delivered to you. Good sourdough bread. My first delivery of this, the pastries were great. Very responsive customer service. Lovely delivery guy.

What I didn’t love - my second delivery of this, the pastries were stale and didn’t look fresh. In both of my deliveries, they have never delivered my bagels. The milk received from my second delivery was off by the third day (three days before expiry).

So basically I’m split. I loved my first delivery which is why I ordered the second time. But the second delivery was a huge disappointment.

EDIT - their customer service is excellent as mentioned before and were apologetic with the issues that I had for my second delivery. My third delivery came with the bagels and they were some of the best bagels I’ve had - freshly made.

Good quality products, responsive customer service and easy to use website. There could be greater variety in the offerings but it may be that the limited selection is what allows the quality to stay high.

Conde Nast said it was the best sourdough in London and certainly agree, getting the seeded sourdough in every order. Loads of other brekkie things to try, all delivered to your door first thing in the morning

Customer interface and delivery on the doorstep is excellent. Products are very good quality, especially pastries, milk, yoghurt and smoked salmon. Bagels are ok but not up to the same standard. The convenience of breakfast waiting for you when you wake up on Saturday morning is great. Impressed

Always a great service. This week a new product of sourdough rolls were launched so I added them to my regular order. Used the rolls with burgers cooked on the BBQ tasted so good and held their shape no broken buns!

This is my fortnightly treat for myself. Can’t explain how lovely it feels to just get an email that your delivery is fresh outside, first thing in the morning and just see the paper bag bundle of joy that awaits inside! Such surprises with what pastries have been selected that week and what you’ll get. I’ve been ordering for months now and have no complaints whatsoever. No disturbance deliveries, no damaged or missing items.

Butter&Crust keep up to date with there customer service emails and offers. Definitely a genius idea behind this business. Well done and thank you!
