Great service

Great pre sales advice. Fast delivery. Very well packaged kit ( Multiplus + Pylontech ). They preconfigured the system to work according to my requirements. All their staff have been really pleasant, patient and helpful. Victron is super high quality but quite complex to get to grips with, but Callidus have been really supportive.

Edit : Been running ESS for a while now. Very minor glitch where I'd misconfigured the battery controls but Callidus logged in remotely and spotted the problem. I'm confident the system will run with no need for further support. Will probably add more battery storage and first stop for this will be Callidus.

I recently left a 5-star review for Callidus but now I feel compelled to report my subsequent experience. On the advice of Alex I purchased a Victron battery charger but it failed within 2 months. After phone conversations and diagnosis with Thomas it was agreed that as the output on my meter was below 12 volts and as the charger was displaying unexplained flickering lights, it appeared as though the charger might be faulty and I was asked to return it at my expense. I was subsequently informed that it was not faulty and it would be returned to me. I informed them that as it would not charge my batteries it was of absolutely no use at all to me and I requested a refund. As this was deemed to be unacceptable it left me with no other option but to suggest that I was considering opening a PayPal dispute. Without any further correspondence or explanation, I received a refund but without any consideration given to my postage costs, inconvenience, etc. In hindsight If I had been more thorough in my due diligence and reviewed

Excellent customer service

A good price for the unit, which included a February discount and free delivery.

A problem developed on the day of delivery. The issue was solved by the team at Callidus. Numerous phone calls and emails were dealt with in a calm, friendly and courteous manner at all times.

Excellent customer service. I thoroughly recommend Callidus Trade.

Tesla Powerwall3 and Ja solar panels via Callidus…

Very quick over email quote for 8.8kWp system with Tesla Powerwall3 and offgrid gateway. Followed by an onsite assessment and 3 days later a team to install the panels but not the battery. It was a scramble to find a scaffolder in time. Slightly let down by a delay from Tesla delivering the batteries 2 weeks later for a second
visit by the team.
The system was in place by late NOV 2024 and now i can see my electric bill for Dec is just about half of previous monthly bills mainly from using offpeak energy stored in the Powerall in the day.
All done well and the battery /inverter installed in the adjacent but not attached garage with a catenary wire running the two sets of cables. This was refused by another supplier with the well known tentacled sea creature.
Overall good but a bit more time explaining how the system should work and a better explanation of how the Zappi would integrate with the system and use intelligent Octopus go.
I still had to contact Callidus to get the inverter export changed from 3.6kW to 11 after Callidus had received the DNO approval.
The handover pack did not come till two weeks after the DNO approval.
If I was doing it again I would have covered both roofs (scaffolding is expensive and panels are relatively cheap) and held back part of the final payment till the handover pack was ready and the export limit was set to the DNO approved value.
Still waiting on Octopus to set up the export tariff but as its winter I just send any surplus to the EV, once export is established that will stop!
I did look around for several quotes and Callidus were best on price followed by Octopus, Callidus staff left a neat and tidy system in place.

I found the whole process excellent

I found the whole process excellent. From the visit to the showroom, the enthusiasm of the personal and the professionalism of the installation team. The price was much better than I had anticipated but, most of all, I felt that these guys really know what they are talking about

Callidus installation experience

I decided on using Callidus for the installation of my off grid system after research on the internet . One aspect I was worried about was their ability to do the initial survey and then installation as I live in Essex . A fair way from their base in the South West . I didn’t need to worry . From the survey , to the final installation everything went very smoothly including all correspondence. Now more than six month into the installation everything is working to expectations . One technical glitch ( caused by my fiddling) was quickly resolved by their remote technical team accessing my system to rectify , so overall I couldn’t be happier .

Callidus - Five-star experience!

Callidus has provided the solar setup we wanted, making the absolute most of the orientation of our house and the space allocated for outdoor battery storage and they've done a beautiful job. Everyone was a pleasure to have around during the installation and the whole thing was done efficiently and really professionally.
We're already saving a lot of money, even making some back when we can export power back to the grid. Batteries mean that even in winter we can take power we'll need at times when there's a surplus, then have them supply it to our household during peak times, so we're alleviating the strain and helping the national grid to run more efficiently. It's a win-win. And the webpage that controls it all is great and really easy to use. I'm not one to recommend a lot these days, but I 100% recommend Callidus.

This is a brilliant supplier for…

This is a brilliant supplier for Victron and solar components - I did a lot of shopping around and they came recommended - really pleased. To be honest, I was a bit lost but they've spent a lot of time at no charge assisting. Their pricing was much much better than elsewhere and they couldn't do enough to help me after a unit i bought elsewhere failed. They got the DNO registration done for free in just under two weeks (usually takes four weeks), spent a lot of time showing and were willing to help whether I wanted to install myself or they do it. Aftersales is responsive and Im looking forward to getting my project done with their help. Thanks to Frank, Ellie, Brian and Tom - Ive asked them to do my schematics and will be buying more solar panels and MPPT’s in the future.

We were badly let down by another…

We were badly let down by another Victron agent, Calidus came to our rescue, and fixed our problem within 15 minutes! Bryony was brilliant, the customer service from this company is second to none, if you need a Victron agent in the south west, this is the only company that can give you the best service!

Excellent and helpful company

Excellent service whilst designing and deciding on our panel set up. Answered my many questions and gave us plenty of time to think it through.
Install was amazingly neat and efficient. We are really happy with the final product. Looks good and producing a nice lot of free electricity.

Their aftersales support is appalling

Their aftersales support is appalling. You raise a Service Request on the Victron system which is automatically forwarded to Callidus, and Callidus don't respond !! I would recommend you buy your Victron products elsewhere if you want Customer Service, not from Callidus.

Really poor aftersales

Really poor aftersales - don't touch them with a barge pole. - you have been warned!
2 out of the three batteries they supplied had started to swell up within a couple of years of install. The Manufacturer stated they had been installed incorrectly. Callidus removed them over 3 months ago with no sign or contact of any sort about suitable replacements.

Nice stores guy. Not very happy with the costumer service

Ordered a kit (Which by the way if you order the components separately it's cheaper than ordering a kit..never seen it before!!)
The solar panel took 26 days to come from Newton Abbot to Plymouth (40 min drive). It was very frustrating. I called a few times to Callidus and DPD. A guy from stores was very nice and helpful, he tried his best but DPD messed things up. But Anyway, at the end of the day it's Callidus responsability.
When the panel came I realised that it was too big for my van so I asked for a change. Now that it's me who has made a mistake they charge £18 for transport. I agreed to it but later I sent an email expressing my concerns, after all the waiting and all the calls I had to make it was unfair to be charged for the exchange in my opinion. No response to that email. When they take 26 days to deliver it's nothing you can do. When you make a mistake you get charged. Very nice.
The price difference between the two panels was about £25 so I was told by Ellie (Costumer service) that I would get the difference. I got the panel but not the money..I emailed asking for the money and no response again. Finally they didn’t charge me but how many emails and calls after? Not very happy.

I brought a solar package from them 18…

I brought a solar package from them 18 months ago for my sprinter van with the intention of living mostly off grid, when the batteries got delivered one had obviously been dropped in transit... i spoke with callidus, they asked me for a photo, which i sent.. two day's later, new battery turned up!! Excellent service!! Fast forward 18 months, i have been living off grid all over Europe last summer and this spring... no problems whatsoever, recently i have been having problems with my batteries, spoke with a very friendly lady, she assured me that the manager would call me back... obviously he is a busy man! But eventually he did, we had a few conversations on the phone, a few emails, very helpful, after a few tests i carried out as advised.... he authorised a full battery replacement under warranty!! I cannot thank callidus enough for their help and advice over the last 18 months, am just about to place another order for an extra solar panel for the slanted roff to catch some extra sun,!! THANK YOU CALLIDUS.

Excellent.

Brilliant service. Quick delivery, great communication and they went the extra mile to enable me to collect one of my items from a local distributer when it was out of stock at their own warehouse. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Thanks.

Friendly company however… Had a home…

Friendly company however… Had a home island system installed to my property. There was a major curfuffle during installation which was dealt with. However there has been an issue with a fault alarm which has persisted for nearly a year. Failed software tweaks, poor communication and I’m slowly losing patience hence this review. I won’t bleat on about the exact problems only that they exist and persist. It pains me to negatively review a local company however it I feel it is necessary due to the poor service I have received. I will update this review.
