Don’t bother if you are prone to…
Don’t bother if you are prone to stress. Asked their non existent customer services a simple question about my plan a week ago, still waiting for a response. They don’t have a phone number! Content is OK, but not great. But they just take your money and are unresponsive. I’ve sent them another email telling them I will set up a dispute with my bank, and they’ve ignored that too. Headspace might be a better bet.
Rob Willis must work for them
Rob Willis must work for them. I signed up for a free trial. Listened for 15 minutes, cancelled subscription. Called Apple, sent screenshot of cancellation. Apple was able to see where I was on for a total of 16 minutes. They refunded me. When you have 90% bad reviews, something is wrong. They are scammers just out to make money. Any company that doesn’t have a phone number, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!
I have ordered 4 subscription Gift…
I have ordered 4 subscription Gift vouchers 6 days ago and the website said they will be sent to me via email. I have received 1 voucher so far 3 are missing!!
Their Gift Card service does not work and no one is getting back to me after attempts via customer service and instagram.
Yes, i have checked all my junkmail and spam folders, they simply have a problem with their gift card services and do not even care. $200 gone just like that
After having subscribed for over 10…
After having subscribed for over 10 years and really enjoying the content, I joined this last time using a voucher (from Calm), via PayPal. I can see that payments have been collected from each, yet I cannot access my Calm app for paid content. I have tried to email them at least twice and have had no reply at all. Total waste of money.
I have been charged twice now having…
I have been charged twice now having deleted the app and have no way of accessing my account.
I want to get my money back but can’t get any response from the company. A total rip off. I cannot afford to pay for this.
Signed up for the free version and had…
Signed up for the free version and had it on my phone for YEARS. THEN randomly charged for the premium I didn’t even have access to!! My subscription still showed I was on the basic plan even AFTER being charged!! To make it worse I didn’t use the app. It’s not calming. It’s not relaxing. Do not get scammed.
Creating an account / logging in
I had such a hard time creating an account and logging in, all I wanted to do was throw my phone through the window and grab the first person that comes up to me and punch them.
BUYER BEWARE!!
It didn't work for me - no problem, I know people for whom it has worked - but the big knockout blow came at the end of my 12-month subscription. When I had finally navigated everything and got to the point of de-registering, I was hit with a cancellation fee of £9.99. That's right: I had to PAY for the benefit of not renewing!! Scandalous or what?
Signed up for 7 day trial but used it…
Signed up for 7 day trial but used it 20 minutes then forgot about it. No big deal…then find out later I have 3 month trial because I have Ally bank…super excited, decide I’m going all in on using this app. The process to figure out how to claim 3 month trial was aggregating, and then when I finally use the code they give me they say I’m ineligible because I had previous “trial”. Go to hell, now I’m the opposite of calm. Prob would have used it for years but forget it, that’s BS
A Masterclass in Deceptive Practices…
A Masterclass in Deceptive Practices Disguised as Wellness
If you’re thinking about signing up for Calm.com, consider this a warning — not a wellness tip. Beneath the soothing voices and serene backgrounds lies a company built on shady billing practices and a complete lack of accountability.
Let’s start with the biggest issue: automatic annual renewals without any notice. Calm will quietly charge your card when your subscription is up — no reminder, no heads-up, no grace period. Just a surprise $70+ hit on your statement for a service you probably forgot you even had. And good luck trying to get a refund or even a response. Their customer service is painfully slow, bordering on non-existent. You're left chasing support for weeks, only to get templated responses that do nothing to solve your issue.
As for the content? It's fine — but that’s about it. There’s nothing here that you can’t find for free with a 30-second Google search. Breathing exercises, ambient music, sleep stories? It’s all widely available without the sneaky charges and poor support. The wellness space is saturated with free and higher-quality alternatives that don’t leave you feeling duped.
Calm’s branding may be polished, but don’t be fooled — behind the curtain is a company that counts on people forgetting, ignoring, or being too frustrated to fight a charge. If your idea of mindfulness includes being nickel-and-dimed while being ghosted by customer service, then by all means, sign up.
Otherwise? Stay far, far away.
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. I'm worse than i was before i spoke to them and I've screenshotted it and sent it to my family
so the bampot i spoke with knows its their fault I'm dead
Honestly the reviews are ridiculous
Honestly the reviews are ridiculous. They are blaming the app for their mistake of not canceling, also meditation takes time to get the gist of it. I've been using it for a year in find it extremely helpful.... I'd say I'm surprised at people but humanity never fails to blame others for their mistakes.... take it from me, if you want calmness pay the money. Your worth the investment. Is it going make everything better- probably not but like most books, it will make your life 10% better like dan Harris said ... if you don't like tamara voice, there are other teachers, secondly is it right to write a review being extremely rude and critical about someone that is just trying to help... if you been recommended mindfulness for your healing. There is plenty of other apps... no one is telling you to listen to tamara although I have always loved her voice. Very calming and sincere. Why would someone do a job for caring about people if she didn't have good intentions 😕 😒 please be self aware of what your doing to yourself and others becuase this app has actually changed my life for the better.
Same experience
Same as other reviews, found it hard to cancel. This was a while ago, but if I remeber right, I suceeded after 2 DAYS. The music 'calming' music is too loud, and app keeps on trying to get me to pay or interupts my meditation with ads.
Tamara Levitt ruins a lot!
Tamara Levitt ruins a lot!
I like Calm. From sleep stories to breathing exercises.
But Tamara Levitt almost got me to resign. What has she swallowed?
She has a voice that is no less than off putting. And fake.. Don’t know if she is trying to be very”meditative”but it’s not working.
Shame really, honestly I think Calm would be so much better without that awful voice(sorry,it’s just too much!)
When I listen to her I feel like this:🤢
Honest truth.
The rest though👌🏾
Impossible to speak to customer…
Impossible to speak to customer service. I cancelled and the payment came out anyway. I had to resort to ringing my bank and putting a block on this company for future payments. I don't recommend at all
Background music too loud
I listened to the promo for Calms read me to sleep option. The background music is WAY TOO loud. I don’t see the need for background music at all, but if you insist on adding it, it shouldn’t drown out the speaker!
I’d consider joining if there was an option to simply READ to me.
The Calm app in a meditation app
The Calm app in a meditation app , they have a law suite against them for sharing customers info , more importantly they give you a free trail then charge you 100 bucks a year , if you don’t like it you can get a refund with in 30 days , the make it really difficult to find how to get that refund to so just give up , but they know you want to leave so the price gets lower to stay with them , offering you 60 , then 50 , then 40 dollars to stay with them , you get so tired of trying to navigate the web site you tend to give in and accept a lower price , in the end there is another easier option ,in order to keep your money with out keeping a subscription they make it easier to ( End) not opt of of the subscription this is easier but it’s set up so it’s an easier option to get out of it but they won’t defund you , so I did that , simply to cancel it and get your money back they don’t make it easy , it boarders on a scam , the point is they try and get some money out of you through the way there lawyers have set up the wording.
They are disgusting business people , you can get there stuff free anywhere in truth
The app is fine but WAAAAAAAY too much Tamara's voice all over it with no alternatives
The app is fine, the programme is good BUT, a HUGE "BUT".
Voice of the main instructor, Tamara, is unbearable. I tried to find programmes by John, Jeff and others. Not much luck- 80% of them are by Tamara and Tamara only. I like Calm's content and concept.... and I WOULD RENEW my premium subscription if there was an alternative to Tamara. But there isn't. And her crackly, exaggerated vocal fry makes me want to pull my hair out and bang my head on a wall - rather than Calming me down and focus on regaining mindfulness and inner peace. Do something Calm, or lose customers and business.
No support available - just a broken chatbot
Had much success with the app, however, this is one of those businesses where it is literally impossible to get help with an issue. (It runs on my ipad but not iphone) They loads of articles to read, like we have time, and an AI chatbot that will take in all your information after several minutes, then say "something went wrong" so no resolution. You cannot get help from Calm.com, beware.
I just got 7 day trial I was hoping for?
I just got 7 day trial I was hoping it would help me sleep. I spent an hr tiring to find something that did not irritate me. like the voice of the sleep coach/DR. I live in the mountains so rain wind ect. all the time for free. apparently they dont work for me so if you are looking for magic it aint here
