1 Out of Five (Vid on YT too) Here's the details...

Camera + Lens described as "Condition: Excellent". "Excellent cosmetic condition, fully functional" with a lens board that "fits but does not hold tight" (all other things indicated this must be minor right?) for ca.£180.
Arrived: easily visible fungus rear and front elements; lens board very loose; loose screw rattling free in viewfinder; viewfinder body loose; shutter would not 'prime', (nor fire); rangefinder so sticky it didn't move the image or the image lagged focus input badly; not in excllent condition; not well packed (and using old Amazon packaging with other peoples full name and address on).
Sent email to them (still their contact email on their site) explaining the camera has many problems and is not in any way fully functional nor in excellent condition. Waited. Sent email another. Waited. Still no replies so opened Paypal dispute. Then I got my first reply, but from another email account (that was never explained) saying I could return it for a full refund and could I use Evri. I agreed. Spent my time and money getting a better box, using my own bubblewrap to package it properly, walking shop to shop looking for parcel tape ( I was angry enough at the time to consider asking for money for it all ). Went to Evri shop, told I needed a barcode and they couldn't give me one. Asked the same for Yodel. Same reply. I'd spent enough time on this out-house camera I just took it to Royal Mail as they can deal with a 'normal parcel'.
I got a refund for the camera and had to get another refund for the Return post cost (Paypal would only let me ask for the price of the item) Because of the whole situation so far, I wondered if they were sorry for all this, so I send a receipt for £3 (the price of the tape) with the receipt for the return post . They gave a part refund on a £3 roll of tape for a disaster camera costing £180 and hours dealing with. I don't take that as a sign of an apology or good will. You may differ.

The YT video is called "Camera-house.co.uk bought camera. Details in the vid ( beyond 1 min is just concerns rangefinder )" . It was UL for feeedback on the shutter and rangefinder . On the feedback, I got the 'more like out house than camera house' line. Sums it up.

Really poor service

Really poor service

I bought two 10"x12" plateholders from Camera House, near Stafford, described as being in 'very good' condition. They were in pretty poor condition with every one of the four darkslides having an issue, - cracks that let light in, fabric hinge failure, and damage/missing part to the top on one. A shame I can't upload photos to this review. Emailed a complaint on 12th June and no reply as of 20th June....

Very poor service

Very poor service, I contacted them via their online form weeks ago and am still waiting for a reply. Not giving much confidence in buying from them.

Ordered an old Praktica 28mm Prime…

Ordered an old Praktica 28mm Prime Focus lens to use with my Sony Mirrorless camera. (Fitted with an adaptor of course).
The lens has to be at least 45 years old so I was apprehensive as to what would turn up, even though it was advertised as in "Very good condition". I shouldn't have worried.
It arrived quickly in the correct Praktica box, both lens caps included and was well packaged. The lens really is in excellent condition. All optics are clear with focus and aperture moving freely and smoothly.
This is my first experience of Camrea House, but I'll certainly be back to look for more items.

Exemplary Service.

In my first transaction with Camera House I bought a used digital camera which utilises a discontinued lens mount.

Unfortunately, on testing it was apparent the sensor was faulty.

The manner in which Rod from Camera House dealt with the matter was exemplary, and I have no hesitation in recommending the Company.
