Very good trip! The walking was outstanding, such a beautiful part of the world to visit and experience at walking pace. Some lovely towns and villages along the way. Good time of year to do this in... See more

Great experience everything was very smooth well take care of, hotel, meals etc. were super organized, but the high light was our guide Ezra, he went above and beyond to keep everybody safe , entertained and interested along the way, The Camino itself is an amazing experience but Ezra made it even greater.

Our bags were always where they were supposed to be and on time. I’m only giving a 4 star because many of our hotels were far away from the city center which made it difficult to go to restaurants or do shopping. We had an 87 year old man walking with us and he didn’t join us for several dinners because of the extra walking to get to restaurants.
The Hotel O Pino in Pedrouza was HORRIBLE. The staff were as unfriendly as they could possibly be. The room we had was like a small windowless cave without a fan or air conditioning. We had to leave the door ajar to try to get some air in and were attacked by mosquitoes. Neither of us slept all night. I hope Camino ways never uses that hotel again.
Really well organized.
We had such a great tour Guide.
Food was good and the weather too
Luggage was always at the hotel by the time we arrived
It was amazing to do the 260km from Porto to Santiago de Compostela in 13 days with the competent arrangements of Camino Ways! Everything was spot on and on time: transport to and from airport, transport of luggage, booking of accommodation, preparation before the trip and even keeping us informed of the huge fire. Fortunately we were not affected by the fire! Thank you Camino Ways for a perfect, memorable holiday!
Communication was good, and the team was knowledgeable. Luggage transfer service worked flawlessly.
The efficiency and the reliability of Caminoways were both exemplary. The quality of the hotels was excellent: over 3 weeks there was only one dud.. can’t beat that. The rented bike was top quality. As was the forwarded luggage service. The personalized web set is a great service. It all adds up to great value for money spent.

Customer service before the trip and during booking was great - friendly and responsive. During the trip, however, support was limited. Also I booked the 'standard' hotels along the Chemin de St Jacques and about 3-4 of them were in totally deserted, older places, dark, with no reception and marginal rooms. The bookings were all in place, though, and my grear transported, so all of it worked logistically. Better hotel choices in places that are not so deserted and cleaner would help a lot.

Supportive 24/7 staff
The Camino Ways staff was there to give us information and guide us on the correct route we wanted to take. Also, during our Camino, we had a few emergencies due to flight cancellations and then a health issue during our pilgrimage that threatened to delay our planned itinerary. The 24/7 support during the walk was excellent. They also were extremely helpful when someone took our 5:00 AM taxi (minutes before we arrived at the meet point); they were able to arrange another taxi and we made the airport in time. Nothing but praise for Camino Ways.

Camino Ways took care of every detail and it was seamless. All I had to do was show up and walk my Camino. Hotels were wonderful, food was amazing and more was provided than I anticipated.
I would book with Camino Ways again.

There were some very nice stops at the end of the day and some have called the food offered ‘simple ‘ , while not all of the meals warrant merit most were simple but delicious .
The final meal in our last hotel was exceptional and that hotels position was perfect .
No issues with this company’s service at all.

We met lovely people in Portugal and Spain but booking through CaminoWays spoiled our whole holiday which we had saved up for and looked forward to for some time.
Our main complaint and reason why we will not recommend CaminoWays is that we were informed in the literature and Terms and Conditions that luggage transfers were included by default. However when we arrived in Portugal we were told that we had to pay extra for the luggage transfers which was €118 per person as CaminoWays had accidentally cancelled them. We travelled from outside of Europe and would have packed differently if we had known but to be informed of the significant change to our booking once we arrived in Portugal was disingenuous and not compliant with fair trading. We paid all the bills on time. But to have to pay extra for an administrative error immensely unfair. We have complained, but after waiting weeks we have not received any response.
Prior to travelling my details were exposed when a hotel we were booked into was hacked. To comply with GDPR I should have been informed within three days. Instead I found out when the hackers contacted me.
In addition, when I informed CaminoWays that I had been contacted by a Brazilian number I was initially told this was normal practice for the Hotel to ask me for my credit card details. To be fair they later wrote back to tell me the hotel had been hacked but the initial advice was ignorant and could have had disastrous consequences for me.
Also the CaminoWays gave us walking maps instead of cycling maps. Some paths were not suitable for bikes. It didn’t help that the email regarding luggage tags, maps, guides was sent once we had arrived in Europe and it was too late for us to download to our phones /print or check if the information was accurate.
We agree with the previous complaint - we were pressured into making a very early deposit. I would really recommend that if you are planning on walking / cycling the Camino that you find another company. Maybe one that isn’t based in Ireland but is locally based.
The people who worked with me to create my journey were amazing and happy to assist with any of my questions and adaptations. It gave me so much peace of mind with the luggage transfer each day and the places to stay. The places also took me through a side of Spain I didn't think I'd see.

This was my 7th Camino with CaninoWays. All went well. No mix ups, the same secure feeling that my hotel bookings were good. Luggage deliveries on tume. It feels like second nature to me now, walking with CaminoWays. Thank you!

Hotels were very accommodating. Only 2 didn’t have A/C but overall good . Also some beds were too short for tall people .

The hotels were great and the guides sent ahead were indeed very useful. I also found the Google maps route very helpful and I used it a lot along the way. My only complaint is that I didn't receive the emergency contact information within the 48 hours ahead of the first day. Of course my first day fell on a Sunday when no one replies to email so I walked the first day without that peace of mind. Having said that, I did receive that information promptly the following day. Overall, I was very happy and next year when I plan to walk another section, I will gladly use Camino Ways again.
