F Secure Cost and Subscription Cancelation Process
F Secure does a good job, i have not experienced any issues with viruses and malware and i tend to visit risky sites on a regular basis.
major issue is the cost. It is much higher priced than comparable or better products, so i t have tried to unsubscribe for 2 years now.
The process to unsubscribe is deliberately long, time consuming and tedious. After 3 hours online and on the phone, i gave up the first time. I am going through this again.
It is designed to hold you hostage. BEWARE!

I reluctantly had to give a star to be able to continue. I have been trying for months to have f-secure removed because it allowed a porn channel entry and blocked all my payments when I tried to donate to charity. Finally a lovely young man called Francis, a technical team adviser, solved the problem. I was being charged for this service and it should have been free therefore it could not be removed. Francis achieved this tonight. I have spent MANY HOURS trying to have this sorted.. Tomorrow I look for compensation!

Don’t bother, absolute waste of time. F secure safe came with ad blocker which o thought would be handy on my iPhone. Turns out it blocked most featured pages on safari as they came up as ‘ads’. I contacted customer support and they told me that ad blocker for IOS doesn’t exist. I messed around on the app the try and turn it off in the AD BLOCKER icon (even though it doesn’t exist apparently) and there was no way to turn it off. The website was also useless and I was unable to cancel my subscription. I deleted the app in the end and low and behold, nothing is blocked on safari and all works fine.
Useless. Pointless. Unhelpful customer service staff that clearly don’t know the software.

I have a subscription for 3 devices. Nothing works.
I have a subscription for 3 devices. However it is impossible to activate it for 2 of them and there is NO possibility to contact support to get help. None of the links work and i cannot even use my login to login to their community pages.
F-Secure used to be good, now I think they are a Russian fake company. Will never use them again.
When contacting them in English, I get the following response:

Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. Online banking becomes near impossible due to F Secure popping up all the time.
If you click 'End' button it disappears for a while then pops up again.
The only way to regain control is to uninstall it.

I have F-Secure Safe now and my experience is positive overall. A few areas to improve - 1.Firewall. I understand that many products of Internet Security class use Windows firewall, Bullguard for example. But Bullguard has an additional module built in that helps to set rules for programs, and helps to see which ones connected to the web recently. This one doesn't have this. 2. Updates. You don't have any control over them. F-Secure Safe updates every hour, so take it, or leave it. Let the user decide how often he wants it to happen. I've seen the statistics that F-Secure does well in tests, so I'd give it 4,5.

Terrible in every way. Even AVG FREE version picks up malicious websites, whilst F-Secutre fails. Never buy this!

Anti-virus product constantly crashes my laptop.
Support is non-existent from my short experience with this provider. I'd seriously advise against this as an anti-virus solution.
I tried to pay for F-Secure Freedome
I tried to pay for F-Secure Freedome, I completed my online payment and indeed received an acknowledgement which said a further email would follow with set up details. None came and I tried to contact them. Eventually got through on the telephone to a very unhelpful agent and gave up as she was no help at all. Spent ages trying to make contact with online chat but this is mostly closed. When I finally reached an agent he said that the payment had been declined and I should pay again! I refused to do this and contacted my Bank who said there had been no request for payment at all!!! A very unprofessional company which I would not receommend!
Very poor product
I subscribed F-Secure Total (includes Freedome and F-Secure Safe) for a year. The product have been very poor (as I have used it for both on Mac computer and iPhone).
The Freedome application (on computer) always works a while, and after few days it stops working and does not even start anymore; then I have to remove it and download again – and it works again just for a few days. However, there has not been any problems with Freedome on iPhone.
The F-Secure Total application does not update itself automatically, and asks very often you to update it manually. After installing the update, the application has always lost the subscription; you have to sign in to F-Secure website and connect the subscription to your computer again. It sounds just a little annoying, but when you have to do it again and again, it takes a lot of time and is very frustrating.
Same problems have lasted for 11 months now, so it's not temporary. The product might be good on Windows computer, but on Mac – I really cannot recommend.
I was very disappointed in the attitude of F-Secure staff
I was very disappointed in the attitude of the pushy staff of this F-Secure. I was looking for a simple solution for two pcs but they insisted on passing me to one of their agents for an expensive and time wasting solution. Needless to say I rejected their unrealistic option!
This attitude of "one system fits all" is wrong and I will be sticking with good old AVG!

I have using F-Secure Business products for over 5 years. They was awesome in protection , performance , price and support.
support was really good through their partner in Iran.

Atrocious customer support, no way to upgrade subscriptions if you get the wrong one
Atrocious customer support.
I renewed my subscription and ended up with one that didn’t cover all my devices. Because the purchase had not been tied to my account, I couldn't even access my F-Secure account; it was blocked by a prompt telling me my subscription had expired.
Customer support says it is not possible to upgrade your subscription to cover more devices, so I would have to buy A NEW SUBCRIPTION next to the one I already have.
My renewed subscription runs through Dec 2018, and they would not allow me to cancel it to smooth things over, if for no other reason than for me to get the proper subscription. Since this runs for 13m, I had apparently passed the grace period where you're treated with a modicum of dignity and respect.
What kind of company hates their customers so much that they won't even help them pay them even more money to upgrade their subscription?
On top of everything else, chat support seems to grow increasingly confused the more you chat, with responses that read less like English and more like Google Translate.
What they did suggest was buying a subscription through iTunes for my iOS device. Unfortunately, their iOS app is bugged so the prompt that lets you add devices or subscriptions doesn't work.
F-Secure told me that I could try CREATING A NEW APPLE ID and see if it fixed it. COME. ON.

This is the most ridiculous and customer-hostile company I have dealt with; that a company focused on security, safety, and privacy don't have a (visible) support e-mail. How on earth do people put their trust in these people to handle some of the most sensitives issues?
Imagine having to talk to these people when a certain thing hits the fan one day. If this is the first or last line of defence, good bloody luck.

their product acted like it was a virus. It kept popping up with messages all the time, it would block me from entering my bank account and the only way to bypass it was to turn it off completely. I only bought it for the Freedome, the proxy, that promised me access to eg. the American Netflix, but this only worked on some sites and didn't work on Netflix.
Somehow I got a virus while F-secure was turned on, so I ended up turning it off completely and installing BullGuard instead. Can't recommend F-secure to anyone, i wouldn't allow it on my computer even if they paid me to download it.
