Last Friday February 13
Last Friday February 13, I was on highway 13 south-bound when my car started swaying back and forth dangerously on a bridge south of boulevard Dagenais. I brought the car to Canadian Tire at 11200 Boul. Cavendish, Saint-Laurent where I live to see what the problem was. Jimmy is the manager there and he and a nice mechanic Tom informed me that my subframe/rear crossmember was severely rusted. They told me that they had some good news for me because there was recall on that part, for that make, model, and year. Now you see, they didn't have to do that for me. I didn't ask them for the recall search. I was born 17 years before the birth of Moses and you don't see much of that kind of care any more. Jimmy, Tom and Ranjit have got to be some of the nicest mechanics I ever met! Yes, it's close to my place, but it's unexpected service like that, that keeps me coming back there. It's really appreciated!
I hate Canadian Tire
I hate Canadian Tire. It’s so unorganized and bad service.
Voicing my overall experience in…
Voicing my overall experience in Canadian Tire. Most of the cashiers have long faces, don't even look at you when you approach. Before I head out to a store I check product online and read reviews, but I can't now because they don't show them anymore. So guess what? I'll find the product elsewhere. If CT wants to deceive and keep the truth of an inferior product from me, then I will shop somewhere else and I hope many others will do the same.
Simple straightforward transaction.

Website list options for my purchase and showed current stock in my locale.
Service person was prompt, courteous and took the time to explain options and the warranty.
This canadian tire is a scam
This canadian tire is a scam. Their products is very terrible. Please do not buy anything from them, especially vehicle batteries
If you buy, it's at you peri.
Ontop of it is bad customer service. The customer decive me to buy a particular battery, more expensive because it will not have issue, the next week, the battery start giving issue, I returned and they said there is nothing they can do
May God punish them 100 fold
Lowest I could give
Lowest I could give. Bought a snow blower, first year it worked twice and no one would fix it as it was from CTC. Finally got it fixed in the summer. Second winter it worked 4 times and again no one wants to touch it. It now sits in a snow bank waiting to become a garden ornament. I’m still paying for it! I’m 72 and SHOVELING my driveway. Thanks for nothing CTC!
Gold Card Service
Actually went in on Jan 29th {Canadian Tire Renfrew ON} for a noisy muffler. CTC Rep, {Rayette} was super friendly and knowledgeable and walked me through possible cost and procedures. She printed the Quote, and set the repair date for Feb 04.
Get this, when I got home, Rayette called me to explain of a Quote error, regarding the repairs and said it would be $169.32 less. Now that is Integrity, Honestly and real Professionalism and gave me a real toasty feeling going forward.
Arrived at CTC Feb 04 8.00am. A different CTC Rep {TJ} acknowledged me and my 2014 Chevy Cruze with a friendly smile, and a welcoming hello. Ten minutes later the car was in the garage, and up on the hoist. TJ proceeded to advice me that, the mechanic {Dave} asked if i would like to see, where and what kind of repairs were necessary, and also he explained my options. We agreed on the best action/repairs going forward.
In closing, I can honestly say none of the CTC staff, put any undo pressure on sales or repairs, at any time and that's a rarity, given these times, as we are all trying to make ends meet.
For all you Canadian Tire non believers, I recommend you try the one in Renfrew Ontario.
Thanks Guys
Cheers
Gary
I would give them a 0 if I could
I would give them a 0 if I could. Thieves. Inexperienced. Not even interested in explaining things correctly. Overcharge and underdeliver. (Cedabrae Centre)
Incompetent and inconsiderate service
I had my car battery replaced at Canadian Tire, Main & Danforth, Toronto. I made an appointment by phone for 2 pm. When I arrived on time, the service person told me that the tech who would do the replacement was on lunch break and would be back later. I went for a walk. When I returned 45 minutes later, my car hadn't been moved into the shop for the work to be done. The tech told me they couldn't find my car in the lot. I told them where it was.
All this wasted about an hour of my time. The service person who made my appointment was incompetent and/or inconsiderate in booking me in for a time when he should have known the tech would not be available.
Also, the new installed battery has no protective covers at all on either of the terminals, a basic safety measure. I'm pretty certain the old battery had covers. CT claims that there were none on the old battery. I didn't take a photo of the old battery beforehand, so my claim is difficult to prove.
Complete Lack of Customer Service: Repeat Offender
The Cdn Tire is located on Quinpool Rd. Halifax NS. There are actually 2 male employees, perhaps at the supervisor level in their 30s or early 40s who have no sense of customer service. I was there today at 3:30 pm . Upon entry I stopped at front desk where staff is generally always nice. I needed drywall mud and sanding blocks. I got sent to the desk in the area and was to be met there by an employee. A young woman immediately appeared and we went down the isle where one of the known-to-me chaps was helping someone. From the conversation this was not going to end in a minute. All that my employee needed to ask was where X had been moved to, but she was unwilling to do so. She may know well what he is like! So we stood and waited 3 mins or so ...When the male employee was finished he told her where to go and we proceeded there. I went back and picked up product Y but needed more information, Went to the desk to see if he was there, but he was an isle away chatting with 2 female employees. I raised my voice to say Excuse me ,....he turned toward and I said I had a question about the product and would he come over to the desk and speak to me. He said no, you come over here! Who is the customer in this scenario?? So I said I would not go over there and it was for him to come to me. He chastised me for my attitude and I in turn said, this is the only Cdn Tire, where you and a colleague need some customer service training!! He continued to tell me off... and I replied by saying I would report this incident! In fact, it's not my first unpleasant incident in that store - never in the others. Spryfield, Tantallon or Bedford! I want this employee spoken to and I hope you can find more 'customer service' oriented personnel.
Canadian Tire store at Bovaird and…
Canadian Tire store at Bovaird and McGlauglin in Brampton. Horrible customer service. Went there on a Sunday . Two representatives in the whole store and 4 people behind the customer service counter. Reps seem to walk away from you if you seem to need help. Then I had a couple of items with know barcode and they
wanted me to wait I don’t know how long because the only two reps in the store were servicing other customers.I work in sales. If I offered service like that I would have no customers at all.
Happy with car service!
I took my car in for a service at Canadian Tire in Ancaster and for the most part I was happy. There were a couple of little things they didn’t do that they were supposed to, but when I went back the next day, they did it happily and very quickly!
Just purchased a $2700 dollar snowblower
Just purchased a $2700 dollar snow blower at Canadian tire Listowel. Had to borrow ramps to get it home. Got it home, read the manual and a day or 2 later we had snow. It started well and I started blowing snow. Went to adjust the chute control and the handle wouldnt move so I had to finish blowing with the chute at 90 degrees which sucked because of how high the banks were. Had to go around with the shovel and shovel the snow that didnt clear the banks. Called Canadian Tire Listowel who by the way assembled it and had it on display. The answer was sorry you will have to find a service center and have it fixed their. Probably under warranty. I ask the guy if they dont stand behind what they assemble and he said we just sell them. Sorry!!! Well now I have to find a service center, borrow ramps, set up a time that service center can fix what Canadian tire didnt know how to do. One of the main reasons I dont get my vehicles serviced there. Never buy a major purchase at Canadian Tire again!!!!
For a Store that touts itself as proudly Canadian
For a Store that touts itself as proudly canadian they only seam to supply U.S. made woodstoves while there are so many Canadian manufacturers. They should be doing much more to promote "made in Canada" products. Deplorable
Don't buy anything from canadian tire.
Don't buy anything from canadian tire.
1) It is not one national store but they are francises. They don't take returns if you buy from another store.
2) They harrass while returning the goods purchased from same stores. They advise to go back to manufactures. Manufactures don't response. Buyers are basically struggle between canadian tire and manufacutres. By that time published days of return elasped.
Canadian Tire Fairview location
Canadian Tire Fairview location, Burlington
In August 2025, they installed an remanufactured alternator. By January of 2026, the belt was worn.
I brought it to Canadian Tire Appleby location and was told that this remanufactured alternator often fails and it put pressure on the belt and it caused a leak on the water pump. I had to spend $411 for an ungraded alternator, belt and a new water pump. I called Canadian Tire Fairview for compensation. They basically did nothing. Don't visit Canadian Tire Fairview. Not helpful.

I refuse to set foot any more in the Canadian tire at yonge and dundas. They make you feel like a criminal. They have self check outs but refuse to allow you to do it yourself and insist they do it for you. Then why not get rid of the self check outs and bring back the old school way like some of their other locations.
Has anyone else had the pleasure of…
Has anyone else had the pleasure of dealing with the angry older gas bar attendant at Canadian Tire in Newmarket? Ever time I have gone there I get attitude instead of Customer Service. Today is the last day. My 40 years as a customer are done. I will no longer tolerate this behavior, especially as a customer.
Charged for Damage Caused by Their Technician – No Refund
"Terrible experience at Canadian Tire Auto Service (320 Bayfield St, Barrie ON, Store #0006). Dropped off my 2012 Toyota Camry on Nov 27, 2025, for grinding noise (diagnosed as front right lower ball joint). Picked up Dec 2—suddenly ABS warning lights on, which weren't there before. Staff admitted the sensor was damaged during their repair work ('most likely when disconnected'). Charged me $355.89 (Invoice #20000600202264) under pressure, despite it being their fault. Sent demand letter to manager on Dec 9 citing Ontario Consumer Protection Act & MVRA—no refund. Avoid if you want competent, accountable service."
