When we returned the RV, we listed the damages. The damages (permanent loss of pressure in a tire, broken faucet) were not documented in the report. No apologies were offered for the costs we incurred.
We were, however, charged a very high sum for a dent in the refrigerator door.
Caution: The claim differs between the handover and the return.

The vehicle was wonderful. Perfect for our needs. Our flight in to Halifax came in a bit early, so we ended up arriving an hour early to pick up our vehicle. We were charged $75 extra for early pick up. This didn't sit right with us and left a bitter taste in our mouths. A bit of flexibility would help the customer to feel happy about their choice of renting with you.

Friendly staff and very helpful with explaining the process. Very informative with going over the unit and checking for damage before we sign off The unit was clean well equipped. They also helped with driving instructions to our initial destination. We would highly recommend this location. It would be great to have a referral program to recommend to friends and family.

Drove around Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick. 3 adults, 3 kids. Experience was very good. Camper worked good. Had some nice and "luxurious" features.
Overall, we were very satisfied with the CanaDream RV.

Helpful and courteous staff. They went over the vehicle in detail.

Barry, Tiago and Deanna made things very easy for us during pickup, dropoff and familiarizing us with amenities in the RV.
We had a wonderful holiday for 2 weeks. We were very comfortable whether on the move or sitting still.

We hired a CanaDream DVC for a week to travel from Halifax to Cape Breton, PEI and into NB.
I guess most people would come from the airport by taxi to pick up their RV. The taxis have a monopoly and charge $50 for a ten minute ride.
They don't tell you until the online check-in that you need to book a time slot for pick-up and return. The only time slot left for us was 1pm which wasted several hours we could have been on the road or done something else to fill in the day. I paid the early pick-up fee - even though the staff appeared not to be busy.
The staff were helpful enough, but unable to resolve a minor issue with the water pump which we spent over an hour trying to resolve, so they refunded the early pick-up fee.
The van is well set up although we found the bathroom too small to be useable for a shower.
We travelled from Australia with a large suitcase each. There is limited room to unpack but we managed to store one suitcase under the bed, but the other suitcase had to be continually moved.
It was pointed out at pick-up that the reading lights had been removed due to damage, and not yet replaced. That was unfortunate, but OK until I wanted to charge my phone. There is a USB on the dashboard which is OK while you're travelling but once you stop there are no USB's and no inverter - meaning there is no way to charge a phone or other devices unless you are in a campground with power. We found out on return that the reading lights contain a USB.
We had some minor issues which required contacting the help line, but the help line appears to only operate during business hours. That's not much help when there is an alarm screaming at 7am.
In conclusion, in my opinion, this vehicle should be for campground use only until the water pump and reading lights are repaired. Halifax depot (and probably others) should look into providing a shuttle service or similar to/from the airport to break the monopoly of the taxis. Even though the DVC is a 2-berth van I would go bigger next time - also see other reviews which agree.
Further to the response from CanaDream, I have the following comments
When I received the invitation to check-in online I was already on holiday with limited time and internet access. By the time I had both time and internet access my check-in options were limited.
Check-in should be available at the time of booking. If scheduling of the fleet is so tight how do you get maintenance and repairs done? You have stated your reason for time slots and early pick-up fee, but I believe you charge an early pick fee because you can.
I would like to have picked up the van earlier in the day to start our trip instead of wasting half a day, because pick-up is in the afternoon.
Collapsible luggage may (or may not) be somewhere on your website or FAQ’s but it wasn’t an option for us. The option to unpack and leave suitcases in your storage was not offered at pick-up.
I called the help line twice, outside of office hours. Perhaps I should have called a different number, perhaps a 24 hour service, but that wasn’t obvious. Both times I called there was no answering service to direct me to other alternatives.
I was aware of the issue with the water pump at pick-up and I managed the issue throughout our trip. I do have experience with water pumps and I also have an RV. I don’t believe the problem was due to air because no air ever came out. Sometimes there was an issue with the pump continuing to run, and at other times the pump would stop as it should.
Overall, we were happy with the DVC despite the few issues we had, some of which were not van related – check-in, suitcases, Help line, $50 taxi

The organisation of pick up and drop off was very efficient and well timed. The online check in provided all necessary data were available in the office at our arrival. The staff was most friendly, like all people in Nova Scotia, and had good advice on things to see and how to handle the RV (and how not to). The RV itself was well equipped and only one year old.
Being a German, fuel economy of the 7.3l gas engine was something I had to get used to 😉.
At drop off we could park our suitcases and head for a breakfast location. Transportation to the airport was offered to organise.

Everything went as planned. The company sticks to the schedule as planned for both departure and return. The linen , dishes and tableware were all very clean. Only drawback was that the vehicle was not completely de-winterized so the hot water system was not working and help over the phone took a while to fix it.

Friendly and helpful staff at the Elmsdale (Halifax) branch. Competent answers to questions; as a customer, I am taken seriously.
The vehicle I rented (Ford F350 truck camper) was in excellent condition and had only a few hundred kilometers on the odometer.
The cabin was older, but functional, and it was easy to handle.

The people were great. The RV was well equipped, except it would’ve been nice to have those level pads for uneven terrain. Also feel that it was lacking the use of the awnings and I just think it’s unfair that for some people who are careless that others have to pay for that and we have to bring our own Pop-up tent. I spoke with another family and they had full use of their awning from a different company they rented from. Why not just charge those people for mishandling.

Overall the experience was excellent. The booking process was relatively easy, though slightly confusing due to all of the different options and packages available. This meant that I selected certain individual items such as bed linen and an extra driver that were already included in another package, and was charged twice for doing so. This was quickly resolved however by the very helpful phoneline staff. The staff at the Halifax office where we collected and returned the RV were very friendly and professional, making the process very smooth. The RV itself was in very good condition and very clean. The Canadream videos that we had viewed in the week before our holiday gave us all of the information we needed to operate the different systems on the RV without further instruction. We had a great holiday and are looking forward to booking with Canadream again in the future.

I had a great experience with my rental, both with the vehicle itself and the staff. Check in took a bit longer than expected but the staff were very attentive and greeted me right away. The RV was comfortable, well stocked and easy to drive. I would say the staff were exceptional. Very friendly, professional and made sure I understood everything about the rental, insurance and vehicle equipment. I would definitely recommend them.
