Caragh Tidy Towns

We have used Caragh Nurseries over the years sourcing plants and semi-mature trees. Most recently, in late January '24, we purchased native bird cherry, birch and holly online and took delivery a week later as promised. Derek in the Nursery was great to deal with, can't do enough, and Oliver dropped the nine rootballed trees (which were perfect) to us in our local park, free of charge, first thing on a Saturday morning (08:15am!) in time for our volunteers to plant.

Be careful!

Be careful!!
I really liked their team when I visited but when my oaks arrived they were not the strong oaks you see / they had sent me the weak runts. To the point their delivery driver laughed and said I really should be given a discount - the trees were a disgrace.
I didn’t want a discount - I wanted the strong trees I had been promised.
Be careful - mark your actual trees on their site - check and fight for them - don’t get taken in by the charm.

Very disappointing

Very disappointing experience with an on-line order. The delivery tracker didn’t work properly- it kept saying that the delivery would arrive in 1 min. This went on for about 40 minutes, I had locked my small dogs in their cage so they wouldn’t run out the front door when I was taking in the plants. It was a warm day and they were crying. When I rang Caragh to find out what was happening I received a very rude response. The driver was fine when he arrived but I’ll never buy from Caragh again.

My experience with Caragh Nurseries has…

My experience with Caragh Nurseries has been exceptional, from beginning to end. Not only were the shrubs and trees beautiful and well chosen, they were deliberately selected and recommended by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable sales team, taking into account the uniqueness and characteristics of a wide range of plants and their suitability to the environment that I live in. Customer care and delivery could not have been better, with every question considered important and quickly responded to. The Caragh crew was professional, from the design process through to the safe delivery and careful planting. To turn a vague idea of what I was looking for into reality, it took people with knowledge, experience, creativity and active listening skills. This has resulted in a beautiful garden that was specifically designed to my individual needs.

First visit to Caragh nurseries…

First visit to Caragh nurseries yesterday .. incredible selection of plants and trees- superb quality. Derek listened to our requirements and then walked us through pointing out various possibilities. We selected 3 no. potted trees and we are very happy with them. Against all odds they were delivered this morning less than 24 hrs after we selected them! Now, that’s service - we’ll be back. Aedeen & Aidan T.

DO NOT PAY FOR DESIGN SERVICE UNTIL YOU GET THE DESIGNS IN HAND!!!!
Shockingly poor service. Promised a design and planting plan that would suit our needs. Paid April 2023 (more fool me) Now May 2024 and still no designs per our original discussions. We missed two deadlines with our groundworks crew and had to go solo. Ian McGarry promises the world, does not deliver and then shuts down communication, and will now not provide a refund or the planting plans agreed with the plants I like or those suitable for our soil or landscape. If you like a copy and paste planting plan that seems to be their only option with hydrangeas and buxus hedging don’t waste your money!! AVOID CARAGH NURSERIES

First time going to Caragh nurseries .

First time going to Caragh nurseries .. massive choice of plants and trees.. some small money, some big money but they all seem very good quality.. and spectacular specimen trees.. if only we had the garden to home them.. 2 staff particularly helpful.. Derek and another lady I'm sorry I can't remember her name.. very impressed with both .. we bought 2 potted trees and we are very happy with them.. helped getting them into car.. really they went out of their way to give advice and chat to us. It was a wet day and loved wandering around ..birds singing loudly as we did so.. if it wasn't for the rugby match we would have spent longer .. will definitely return for a longer look . Barry

Very happy customer

Once again Carragh Nurseries did a fantastic job - excellent experience the whole journey - to Inge for her excellent insight and expertise into what would work where and to Darren and Jorge who once again did an excellent job on the planting in the front garden this time....... Such an excellent service... We'll be back - Enda and Maurice

The Best Of The Best

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop. Have travelled from Galway to Kildare about 6 times in the last three years each time leaving with the best of the best plants. Never had an issue with any of the plants I have bought. These have been mostly large tropical trees which as doing amazingly well in our Irish weather. To be honest I’m surprised how well they are doing. Delivery has been as promised and all trees/plants arrived within a week. I even receive live update texts on the day to let you know where they are. Olivier has been the driver and I cannot recommend him enough. He even helped place/plant the larger trees on a couple of the trickier ones. 10 stars to Caragh Nurseries from me.

Be careful with rhis lot…

Bought a plant for 1300 Euro including 120 Euro delivery. Reported back to them that my client did not like the plant, within 2 hours of delivery. No refund or partial refund. Instead they strung me along for more than a week, saying they would refund me. An exceptionally shoddy anf unprofessional experience. I'm a landscape gardener by profession, and I've never before had my own professionalism called into question, and that was by an Ian McNally, the owner. Never met such a discourteous money grubber in my career. What business refuses a refund in such a circumstance?

Found them totally unprofessional and the most frustrating company to deal with ordered a potted plant through their Botanist Centre on the 25th March still waiting ! This morning I gave up and will never deal with them again
