SCAM- they find every reason not to pay!

SCAM- do not buy this warranty. I had the titanium plan that covers supposedly everything. Car is a 2016 with 24K miles on it. Cadillac CUE system went out and they refused to pay for it citing act of nature. I can't control how hot it is where I live and not everyone has a garage. Feel like a bait & switch

It's a SCAM

It's a SCAM, they simply will not pay out!
Like really trust me. They'll find a scratch on your cars underside and therefore claim it was a 'pre-existing condition'..or they'll find the milage out my 3 miles and claim inconsistencies. Honestly, learn from my mistakes.

Please do not TRUST Carchex with your…

Please do not TRUST Carchex with your money.
Yes, sometimes they will pay for some things, but they will do everything in their power to deny paying for qualified repairs.
They are the business to charge people a lot of money in the hopes they do not pay out more than you buy the plan for.
These companies have many nasty tactics to deny claims, frustrate the mechanics to get approval, and they also are legally allowed to ship out their own cheap parts that the mechanics say should never be put on vehicles.
The bottom line is the government does not monitor them either...so they don't care.
All these negative reviews are true...you are crazy to take a chance to see if they will keep their word after you give them your money.
It should be illegal how Carchex operates.
Too many examples to list...but I had them keep their word on only 2 out of the 5 times I needed repairs.
That is horrible...

It was a ‘hard’ sell

It was a ‘hard’ sell - but as I stuck with it, they kept giving me a better price/package. Amazing! I did notice almost immediate when they sent me a copy of the contract that they was a ‘hidden’ cost - the max they will pay towards labor. Frustrating!!!!!

The WORST

The WORST! I've had an ongoing complaint for over a year, with multiple letters even to the CEO - NO RESPONSE EVER. My car was recently in the shop - they wanted my mechanic to WAIT FOR CHINESE PARTS to put into my Cadillac CTS!!!!!!!!!!
RUN AWAY! My mechanic recommends the following:
American Auto Shield, Cornerstone, Easy Care, Ally, USW.

Response: Good to know - if AAShield is connected in any way to you or CarShield I can scratch them off the list! You may want to check Spvr. Larry Peterson's recorded conversation on 1/11/23 with this customer as he and his KMA attitude was only one point of my complaint. I had a breakdown in Jan. 2023 in 30 degree weather on a busy street. I called your roadside assistance -1 1/2 hr. later still NO tow truck! But they were "trying". I called my insurance company and had a tow truck within 15 min. I've seen those exact complaints by other customers on multiple consumer sites! I first wrote to Cust. Serv in Jan 2023 - no response, then on 2/8/23 requesting an Appeal - nothing. Who checks the mail there on Shawan Road?? Finally, I sent copies of both on 5/12/23 to: Jason Goldsmith, CEO. So,you, a CSR called HIM to see if he got my letter??? That's as much BS as everything else about your "warranty".

Thank you for your review. We apologize for any frustration related to any claims filed for your Cadillac CTS.

Unfortunately, based on only your vehicle and first name of Kathy, we are unable to locate your account to reach out to you directly.

With regards to any complaints sent in to our CEO, we do not have any records of a complaint matching your review but will address your concerns in general terms.

CARCHEX is a retailer of Vehicle Service Contracts administered by many of the industries top contract administrators including American Auto Shield who you mentioned in your review.

All of the retailers and administrators you mentioned offer vehicle service contracts who allow for the approval of "Like, Kind, and Quality parts.... including OEM, aftermarket, Remanufactured, and in some cases used parts."

While your Cadillac CTS is a domestic brand, most if not all vehicles made today have parts manufactured all over the world including China, Mexico, and locally in the US.

For General Motors brands, there are many aftermarket parts suppliers who make OEM spec replacement parts for brands including Cadillac. Most manufacturers do not manufacturer the parts themselves.

While the approved parts may not be "Cadillac" branded, they are typically aftermarket parts, manufactured to the Cadillac OEM specifications.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please give us a call at (877)227-2439 Ext. 6001 Monday - Friday between 9:00am - 6:00pm ET.

We are more than happy to speak to the claims administrator on your behalf to determine the claims details and type of parts being approved to help resolve your concerns.

Will not honor warranty

They did not honor warranty on the repair of the turbo in an Audi A6, although industry standardi is to replace turbo. The adjuster suggested to replace the actuator sensor instead of turbo. Also the warranty company only honored $400 of the $1200 needed to repair the actuator. They came up with their own pricing for payouts leaving the consumer to pay the bulk of the repair. The warranty cost me $3000 and is useless to me.

I called just to get some very basic information. The person I spoke with was very aggressive to sell me, and I kept trying to explain that I was only after information, that I was not going to sign up immediately. I wanted information to consider and think about.

Eventually he was so rude that I hung up on him. I will never give business to a company that browbeats me into agreeing to something I've explained I'm not ready to do.

Carchex has no intention on paying for auto repairs

Carchex dragged its feet and scrutinized Claim# 4782967 to pay for the repairs. Instead, the claims adjuster repeatedly requested prior service documents to verify that I kept the vehicle maintenance in compliance with Lexus service maintenance. The proof of service records were sent to CLAIMS. On 05/25/2023, advised Rep at Superstition Springs of Lexus that my policy is canceled immediately, and the claim is denied due to odometer service and owner record discrepancy. Rep advised Mr. Curtis that it is impossible to manipulate the odometer and she has the actual mileage at around 105k miles which falls within the warranty. I have never manipulated an odometer and did not provide false information upon my application. Carchex could have done their due diligence prior to allowing me a warranty if they had odometer mileage concerns. This was merely an excuse to avoid auto repairs that were covered by the warranty that totaled over $7k in repairs that Carchex wanted to avoid paying.

Carchex deceived me as a consumer in commerce with no intention to ever pay for auto warranty repairs.
Pending complaint with FTC, Attorney General and CFPB

UPDATE:
06/08/2023 CarCheck Royal Administration Services Inc resolved my issue and my denied claim has since been approved.

BUYER BEWARE!

Your advertised $100 deductible is a LOW-BALL NUMBER! Adjuster approves fewer hours than Certified Repair Facilities charge! Suddenly, my $100 deductible is costing me from $500 to $1000! What do you do when you need the car and it has to be repaired? YOU PAY! I Wouldn't do business with them if I were you!

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money! I have to many problems with carchex to write here! put it this way! biggest issue! in order to get my truck fixed by a ford dealer, i would of had to spend hundreds of dollars more/over then my $100.00 deductable carchex said only thing i will have to pay out of pocket. "American Auto shield" does carchex estimations & pay out to mechanics & they don't want to pay them what they are asking for, aka Low Balling Them, meaning you have to pay from your own pocket to get your vehicle fixed! "angry past customer"!!!!

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and will address your concerns.

CARCHEX is a retailer of Vehicle Service Contracts. We offer multiple coverage options through the industries leading contract administrators to provide the best available coverage options for our customers.

While we cannot locate an account for your concerns with only the first name of "Jeff" we can address how a claim is adjudicated in general.

To start, the contract administrator approves claims with parts of like, kind, and quality. That means they will approve the parts using either OEM (New manufacturer branded) parts, Aftermarket parts, Remanufactured parts, and in some cases used parts. If a used part is sourced for the approval, it is typically a powertrain component like an engine or transmission that is sourced from a National Distributor who offers a 1 year parts and labor warranty to ensure the used part is in good working order. The distributor also certifies the mileage on the component which must equal to or less than the current mileage on your vehicle at the time of repair.

Contract administrators will offer to ship the approved parts to your repair shop or provide the distributor's contact info and quote number so your shop can purchase the approved part directly. This ensures you are not paying out of pocket for parts.

With regards to Labor, the contracts advise all repairs will be approved using a Nationally recognized labor guide for the repair time.

Based on your vin and the OEM part numbers, the labor guide advises the time for diagnostics and removal and replacement of the part. This ensures shops are not overcharging the labor time and wasting your available limit of liability on your contract.

While we understand your frustration with out of pocket expenses, the contract administrators adhere to the terms and conditions of your contract. In the event of a dispute, CARCHEX has a staff dedicated to claims disputes, our Customer Loyalty Department, who can work with your repair shop and administrator to help resolve these types of concerns.

If you would like to discuss your claim and out of pocket expenses, please give us a call at (877)227-2439 Ext. 6001 to speak with our Customer Loyalty Team.

Titanium Policy on 2014 BMW

I have had a Titanium policy on my 2014 BMW x5 from Car Check for five years and the recent monthly cost was $179
Never used it and when I did need it this week (03/23/23) for bottom control arm replacement from a reputable dealer they would only pay me a third of the $1765 estimate.
1. Would not pay the dealer rate
2. Only allow after market foreign made replacement parts
3. Would not pay for various nuts and bolts! (Are you kidding me)
So after my $200 deduction I would have gotten $560 towards this repair. Since I had several months remaining at a cost of $600 I cancelled and will do the repair out of pocket. What a total disappointment and waste of hard earned money. Shame on me!!! Never again. Trust your car as most are made to last well over 100,000 miles.
Do not recommend this company.

I requested an inspection of a car in the New York City area. The only response I got initially was to have my credit card charged. I tried multiple times to call and find out what was happening with no luck. I also sent requests in online - no response. Finally, after 3 days, they notified me that they did not have an inspector available and would refund my money.
REALLY, IT TAKES 3 DAYS TO TELL ME YOU DON'T HAVE AN INSPECTOR IN NEW YORK CITY???

Don't trust CarChex nor it's warranty partners (Renascent Protection Solutions) to pay out

After they wasted almost 2 weeks of the dealers time, they finally sent an inspector. They denied the claim because the vehicle had a "modification". The modification was an exhaust "resonator delete" by previous owner. This is nothing more than an elongated 5" wide/hollow tube (real muffler is in rear) that reduces highway drone.
My car had premature radiator seam failure and premature supercharger bearing failure. There is no way on earth a "resonator delete" can cause these failures. BTW, my GPS needed a firmware update (which they specifically mention is covered) and they wouldn't even pay that small amount (how does a resonator delete affect a firmware update?).
I told them that under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they were under the "burden of proof" to show that the vehicle modification could in any way cause the repair needed. They basically could care less. I also contacted CarChex that sold the warranty plan and received zero help. Almost all the reviews show this company is a scam. My attorney said a public records search showed this to be a good candidate for a class action lawsuit. They are in direct violation of Federal law.

Run away from this company, BBB is a joke and they are liars at all as well

Honestly I wish I would’ve done my research first, they are claim to be a better business bureau A+ rating, I just don’t see how this is possible I bought three policies from them in the beginning it was good, I have spent over $8,000 with this company. I sold one of the vehicles never use the contract only had the contract in motion for six months, now they have ghosted me will not return my emails phone calls or anything I have this contract that I can’t use I told the customer that was transferable because that’s what I was told. They’re a bunch of freaking liars and I will make sure that every rating site will hear this story.
