Carchex is a complete scam
When you read the 5-star reviews, you'll notice that most of them are for the buying experience. The buying experience is good, they promise anything you want. After you buy your warranty, it turns into a nightmare. I began my contract with Carchex in December 2019. Since then, I've only had 3 claims but every single claim was a problem. For reference, I bought their top-of-the-line, exclusionary warranty, which means everything on the car is covered unless the contract specifically excludes it i.e. maintenance-type items. My first two claims, they paid but only about 40% of the bill. This left me with hundreds of dollars out of pocket on each claim. They use ridiculous labor rates and parts costs that no one except for Bubba in his backwoods garage would accept. My most recent claim was for a broken rear suspension spring. Their response was that we've never seen this before, it must have rusted through. Sorry, that's not covered. My mechanic had to send pictures showing the spring and said it clearly was not from corrosion. they decided that it needed to be inspected by one of their inspectors. The inspector looks at it, realizes that it was not from corrosion, then decides that I must have been in an accident with my car and that's what caused it to break. Claim denied! BS. I have never been in an accident with this car. I usually keep warranties on my vehicles and have never had a problem with a claim. Until Carchex. Be prepared to use the legal system to get anywhere with these guys, that's what I'm doing. Better yet, run away from this scam of a company as fast as you can. There are reputable companies out there, Carchex is not one of them.
Great experience!!’
The agent I dealt with was courteous and professional, and knowledgeable. Very little to no pressure whatsoever and had all of the facts and figures. All in all a great experience.
Horrible
Horrible. Stay away.. Not worth the hassle...Find another and ask the following:1. Do you have a Shop Rate maximum you would cover. 2. Which governing book for repair do you use; this dictates the time they are willing to pay for a particular repair or lower. 3. If a part needs replacement, do you cover a part on an average around the country or lowest being used or certified repaired, New, and what cost. 4a. If you find a part lower, do you have a parts company you use, or will recommend if not covered under the shop’s normal procurement process? Keep in mind, most won’t do so due to liability. If they do, beware trying to claim again with CarChex RASR as they will most likely only cover a portion then throw at you it would be covered but seems like it’s a defect and won’t cover at all, good luck in trying to prove that otherwise to them. Stay away!! RASR = Royal Administration Services Representative...
From Atlanta - Warranty Purchasing Process
I brought the extended warranty from CARCHEX and the process is very smooth. And the salesperson explained all the details and the purchase process is excellent with no hidden fees or confusion.
Now the next step is the claim process, I have to see in the future how CARCHEX handles the claims. This is where a company's ratings matter and satisfy the customers in a long run.
Trust me, avoid the headache and stay away, SCAM
PROBABLY THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. THEY SELL YOU A DREAM AND ITS ALL A LIE. TRUST ME, READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS ON HERE. ALL NEGATIVE, SAVE YOUR TIME AND HEADACHE AND AVOID THIS COMPANY. MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 37 DAYS WITH NO RESPONCE, THEY GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. MY SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY WERE TRYING TO FIND A REASON NOT TO PAY, HE WAS RIGHT! STAY AWAY, FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! I HONESTLY DONT KNOW HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS WITH ALL THESE BAD REVIEWS
Customer service
I was nervous about the price and coverage but the customer service rep TaShaun explained the benefits of the coverage and I’m a very new customer but I’d rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
My Second Warranty
This is my second warranty with CARCHEX. On the first warranty I had no claims, one time my mechanic called to check on if the fuel injectors were covered. Unfortunately the fuel injectors were not covered ( I was pretty sure they were not, after reading the contract, but I wanted to make sure.) I asked my mechanic about the representative and he said she was very knowledgeable and polite.
On my second round, the sales representative Michael M. was awesome, I felt no pressure to buy a warranty. He talked me through the cost and coverage of the warranty. I was able to get a warranty to cover my car for four years or 139,000 miles. Which is great since I drive almost 20,000 a year. The dealership warranty would only cover my car up to 100,000 miles.
This is my story with CARFAX.
Never get carchex to answer customer…
Never get carchex to answer customer service number . Inspection dept voice mail full . Never responded to emails .
Feeling scamed…
Researched online and was led to CARCHEX as a high possibilty for extended warranty. Great customer service who told me that I'll have 30 days to review and can cancel anytime before. Wished I'd read the reviews prior. Signed up on October 17th.
I decided to cancel as I'm getting a new vehicle. Have been calling and leaving messages since November 7th 2022.
Like some others said, no response. Called the rep who did my enrollment. He transferred me and the phone got cut off. Called again and a customer service representative told me he can help me with the cancellation. Before I could say anything the phone cut off. I called several times after and got answering service. Left phone messages and messages on the website. Up till this moment have not gotten any responses. It's now past the trial period and my account was charged for a second time which is infuriating.
The response they gave me is how to cancel. They never addressed my problem
Dear Carchex, I purchased this contract on 5/13/22
I believed your ad about being the best over the other aftermarket warranty companies.
I was told at the time of purchase that the premium was high due to me having a luxury vehicle. I understood that, and believed you understood that.
On October 19, 2022 I’d taken my car to the same repair place that I normally use to service it. ( ZEIGLER BMW OF ORLAND PK ) my service advisor Latoya Tenton advise me why I was hearing a ticking noise from the left front of my car. It was recommended that both front axles be replaced ( $4563.77 ), both front thrust arms ( $1,586.47 ) and an alignment ( $249.99 ).
She asked if I had a warranty? I told her yes confidently. She contacted you and said that you would cover the axle portion, and that, I had to leave it till an inspector comes out, I did.
I started losing faith when I had to track down the inspector, I’ve been paying you faithfully since May 13,2022 surely he knows my information. However I contacted him, and he stated that they would cover the axles , however they only paid $175 labor hour, and BMW wanted $200+. So I would have to pay the overage. I also asked about a rental, he stated they will cover 5 days at $35 a day.
So after hanging up I call Ms Latoya Tenton at ZEIGLER BMW , my heart dropped when she told me you were only paying $761.46 towards the repair and that I’m responsible for the rest.
After two days of leaving my car at Ziegler
I had to pick it up. I was prepared that day to pay the difference of what I was told would be covered. To retrieve my vehicle I had to pay $215, more money I’m out of, besides paying 6 payments of a aftermarket service company I believed in. Prior to that day I was telling friends of mine that I found a a good aftermarket service company for your car.
On 10/24/2022 I called Linda in the claims department of carchex, she gave me a breakdown of how they arrived at $761.46
She said Ziegler BMW was too high on their parts, so I asked her where did she get her part quote from ? She said Tealautoparts.com
I went to their website and it would not let you look up parts. I trusted your company to fix my car when a covered incident happens, instead I feel as though I’ve been had. Your booklet says I can take my car to a repair facility of my choice.
We both new what type of vehicle it is.
BMW repairs it with genuine BMW parts, why would I want less. Please repair my car.

Not a carchex warranty fan.
I had a carchex warranty. I did not realize it was administered by a third party. They are like calling a broker basically. So, my transmission blew up, and so did my rear A/C, both of which I was told by a Carchex representative were covered. I also had rental car reimbursement. So, take the care to the shop. I pay a 200 deductible, lose my vehicle for two weeks, pay 1200 for a rental (not reimbursed) pay 700 for the rear A/C (not covered) and pay an additional 1800 for a transmission with a warranty. They wanted to put in an aftermarket, non-OEM transmission with a 30 day/1000 mile guarantee, the OEM one comes with a 5 year/100k mile, guarantee. So after paying for the entire contract, plus thewarranty. Plus going to one of thier "preferred" shops, I saved about 3.5k. I also discovered that the warranty has a cap, mine was 10k, Endurance car warranty is replacement cost of vehicle.
Now I have an Endurance car warranty. If I had gone through them in the first place, I would have payed 100 dollar deductible. So, go with Endurance. The monthly price difference was about 25 dollars.

Could not cancel the policy! No way to cancel the policy. RUN, don't walk!
How many calls does it take to correct a name?
They are ok. I have been trying to get my name updated correctly on my policy and payments however I have been unsuccessful. When I originally purchased this in December 2021/January 2022, I have been trying to get this corrected. Recently, I have been having a battle between carchex and its third party company paylink make the correction to the billing as well. At this point, I feel like canceling my policy because this error has not been corrected to this day. Carchex says it’s on paylink, paylink says it’s on carchex to make the update!! Carchex, please get this resolve! Please send the necessary I information to
