Does CareCo really care ?

17 months ago my wife and I bought 2 riser/recliners from CareCo one at nearly £2000 and mine at £2600.
Sadly on mine the seat is sagging on the right side causing considerable pain in my lower back. In spite of sending them a picture of the chair with cartons on the seat which clearly shows them lower on the right, they have decided that it’s not a fault.
They have offered an “independent” engineer if I pay £80, the chair has a 5 year warranty. I have concluded that maybe CareCo don’t really care much.

order no. 2634762
Engineer attended by name of Simon. He was bang on time and very professional in his behaviour and application to his task. He fixed the defect and also gave several tips on aspects of the mobility scooter. A really nice chap and a good ambassador for the company

My mum bought me the Aurfold pro

My mum bought me the Aurfold pro. This was £3,500 at the time. I used it on our cruise mostly on the boat. When I got home I used it to go to out local shop. At that time I only had one prosthetic leg. Out of nowhere the steering completely went. I was lucky enough to not fall and my son-in-law came and carried me to the car. Care and co sent an engineer out and fixed the part at my home after a few weeks. Thinking now it would be safe me and my daughter went for a walk at tankerton. Unfortunately I had to have another amputation so completely relying on my left prosthetic. I was on the flat ground l when yet again the steering failed and I went flying over the wall which was only a couple of steps high. I cut both hands and have bad scaring. My thumb had a deeper cut and still hasn’t healed and now under my vascular doctor. Im not blaming care and co for the healing but for the fall in the first place. I had to then crawl to my car! This was so distressing and upsetting and another reminder of how vulnerable I am. We went straight to Canterbury care and co and explained what happened. The staff were lovely and couldn’t of been more helpful. It was out of their hands and all they could do was send it to be repaired. I rang to ask for a refund as will never use it again as to scared. The answer was no as out of warranty. But I said it’s faulty, but the answer still no. It took 6 weeks to come back to me so had to buy a second hand one to get buy until I get my next prosthetic.
The scooter arrived back today the liability explanation as part poorly welded. This caused me to come off and injure myself and scaring. I feel completely let down by care and co and still praying im not going to loose my thumb.

Non slip bath mat was eagerly awaited…

Non slip bath mat was eagerly awaited as I have been
having difficulty getting out of the bath. But to my disappointment my feet still slipped out from under me, causing me to fall back into the bath soaking the floor tiles and bathmat. So I still had to call on my partner to haul me out. Very disappointing.

Careco no care. as wheel on my amputee…

Contacted Careco as wheel on my amputee husband's Zora electric wheelchair came off while he was in it causing him to have a very badly grazed arm and numerous bruises as well as being badly shaken. Careco said will send part explained in detail what part it was but they sent wrong part. Phoned again to complain re husband's injuries and parts problem explained that we needed an engineer to check the wheelchair out for any other damage from accident. After a few more emails and over a week of being stuck indoors finally got an engineer out the part he had was ok but it was another part that had broken inside frame which he didn't have on him. Now got to wait to be contacted by tech department to arrange another visit. This is very depressing for both myself and my husband as he is completely reliant on wheelchair we cannot go out until this is fixed. Would not recommend Careco services they are not a caring company no one has been in touch about his injuries all seems to be about money. My husband is 83 years old l am 77 years old really don't need this hassle.

My elderly parents purchased a…

My elderly parents purchased a mechanical chair, it stopped working correctly..Mum rang the shop in Sheffield but didnt get a very pleasent response from the staff member. After a few words they agreed to come and take a look. Firstly they tequired £169 for a call out and if it was my parents fault they would not receive it back.£3 k the chair cost and they havent had it long.Taking advantage of elderly people is a discrace. Mum is due surgery as to why she purchased this chair but they do mot care once they have your money..Careco should not have the word care in their company name...shame on you
