knowingly over promised, yet under delivered!!

I urge you to do your due diligence before opting for Care Move Ltd Removal & Storage (in connection with Dale and Daughters)
Ms Bernadette Dale quoted £1,100, for removal services from a 3-bed house move, to include both back and front gardens items, relocating 0.3 miles from previous house, all packing materials to be provided (The quotation includes: Supplying cartons and boxes for owner-packing. Dismantling and erecting ordinary beds. Hiring of packing crates, stated on the contract). I was assured the contract also included insurance cover up to the value of £25,000 that I had nothing to worry about on the day of the move.
I paid a deposit for early receipt of some packing material, however, had to chase, which finally arrived within the week of the move. A number of boxes had holes cut out the side, flaps missing so couldn't be properly secured others in a state of repair, causing a delay in packing.
On the day of move I expected to receive further packing material, only a further 3 standard boxes were made available, no where near enough to pack a 3-bed house and gardens
Only 70% of the discussed contents was loaded onto the vans, the team advised they would drop off to the new property and return to collect the remainder.
On route to collecting the keys, I received a call from Ms Dale to advise, no one would be returning to collect the rest of my property, as everything wasn't packed by 8am. I said I was waiting on the additional boxes as discussed as per contract. She said I received all packing materials of 30 boxes, paper and tape, anything further material required is the responsibility of the client to supply, yet the contract does not mention a limit to packing material.
You repeated the men would not be returning to the property to collect the remainder. I asked what I was supposed to do, the new owners were about to move in, you suggested offering the removals men a "gentlemen's agreement" (cash) to see if they would come back in their own time to complete. I flatly refused as I'd paid for a service which they hadn't delivered on. I was left stranded she knew this was an extremely emotional time following the loss of my husband, being on my own and with health problems, but that didn't seem to matter. The caring, empathetic side of her no longer existed replaced with a cold hearted business woman now the balance had been paid in full!!
Embarrassingly I had to ask new home owners and neighbours if I could store items at their property for a few days until I could make further arrangements to collect. Both the new homeowners and my 65yr old sister moved as much as they could on the day to lessen the load and inconvenience to all.
Given this I found Care Move to be in breach of contract.
A number of items were damaged during the removal, a claim was raised, Ms Dale only sent correspondence via Royal Mail 2nd class, requesting a response to be received in writing via post, refusing to answer emails requesting update, I stated to her this is a delay tactic.
Insurance provided is not worth the paper it’s written on.
All boxes provided were placed outside my property for collection, some of the boxes had contact details of Ms Dale to show these were the property of Care Move and not recycling material.
Following this I received a number of nuisance emails from Ms Dale, like a classroom antics!
I filed a claim through the small claims court, however on the day of hearing a new security protocol was put in place restricting entrance to the courts, resulting in the case being struck out.
After incorrect guidance from the courts I proceeded a further 2 times to raise the claim, on the 3rd attempt the residing Judge a new claim should not have been made but for the original to be appealed, on which ground the claim was struck out again. The Judge said she felt my frustration and if it was any consolation, had the original case been presented to her, she would have ruled on it before it got this far.
Hearing the Judge’s comments, I knew I had won what I set out to achieve and I would do it all over again!

Court hearing 1 - struck out due to non attendance following new security protocol.
Hearing 2 - struck out due court hearing fee not paid before deadline, this was due to no direct link to make court hearing fee payment, you submit a request to make payment, however you await the courts to contact you to take payment.
Hearing 3 - struck out as the judge confirmed only one hearing request for the same issue can be made.
The court process was solely to highlight how Care Move delivered a substandard level of service.

Don't be silly Colleen. The judge threw it out 3 times . These are educated people of whom saw straight through you. The reason for this is because in the trade we call you "professional claimers" Not to mention complaining to the judge about their decision and the judicial system, then blatantly lying to her face.

Great service

I contacted care move after being advised to use a removal company for our upcoming move. Having never used removals before I was unsure what to expect. I dealt with Bernadette from start to finish and she was great!! Easy to contact, boxes sent for packing as a priority due to very short notice of completion. Exchange didn’t happen until 4pm the day before we moved and despite being very stressful Bernadette still managed to get me a crew and lorry to the next morning.
As for the crew, great bunch of lads. They didn’t stop! Special mention to Marcus and Jay who were very friendly, polite and knew exactly what they were doing. All the team were a credit to the company. Thank you for moving us. I would definitely recommend!

Terrible Service…

I have read some good reviews about this company. So don’t know what happened to me !!
I used Care Move Sutton Coldfield.
On the day of my move they sent a small van and it was clear that all my furniture was not going to fit.
As the morning went on I called Bernadette to complain that this is not what I paid for.
She was very disinterested in speaking to me and very dismissive about the situation. The lads that she sent were very hard working however Bernadette had quoted me that there would be plastic rolled over my carpets. My TV’s and mattress’s would be in protective sleeves my cream 3 seater sofa would be wrapped. None of this happened.
I had to move in two journeys something I thought I was paying upfront to avoid happening.
Throughout the day I companied to Bernadette that this was really stressing me out. Her costumer service skills were terrible her solution was to hand my keys back then the lads can go to collect my garden furniture and empty my shed. Then lock my gate from the inside then jump over my garden fence.
I insisted that no way was I leaving the responsibility of leaving my old address secure in somebody else’s hands.
Wish I had not paid her all that money for a man with a van service Terrible !!!

I would like to apologise for the mistake made on the day of your removal. Unfortunately, I made an error in judgement over the length of the sofa which resulted in the sofa having to be positioned at an angle on the vehicle. Due to this issue, it was then necessary to return to collect and deliver the garden items afterwards.
Due to the length of the sofa the protector would not fit, and I understand the driver advised of this on the day of the move and used alternative protection i.e. removal wraps in place of the cover.
These issues were rectified on the day and the move was completed by 2.30 p.m.
Again, I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and the oversight on my part.

A brilliant service throughout

A brilliant service throughout from Bernadette and her team. Prompt attendance to provide a quote. The team on the day Nigel, Steve, Jamie, Paul and Tai worked so hard, it was a hot day and we had to wait to get into our new house, Nigel and the team remained upbeat and kept going until the job was done. We couldn’t have asked for anymore, friendly helpful, hard working and professional. I would definitely recommend Care Move.

moving home

We found Bernadette to be very professional and put our mind at ease. Having not moved for 27 years she and her team made the process stress free. We did have several other prices, however we felt confident with Bernadette and Care move.

A complex move executed with care and efficiency

So we had a complex move with 2 houses (comprising 10 bedrooms) into 1 and over a 3 day period with restricted access too so was never going to be straight forward. Care Move delivered the boxes on time (part of their standard service which others charge for), provided the full packing service (and again cant fault their packing) and dismantling and reassembly service (again everyhting went back together) and moved everything we had asked and agreed. All the guys were helpful and friendly and placed everything where we asked even though some of it was up 3 flights of stairs. I have read the other reviews and if there is a learning for others from this experience, irrespective of the company is to be clear on what you are moving and when and what you have contracted for. Care Move quote was very competitive and I would happily use them again. Bernadette is very driven and juggling a lot so can come across as very matter of fact, but in fairness she and the team did deliver on everything they promised.

Excellent professional experience from Care Move

Excellent professional experience from the Care Move team. They were reliable and arrived on time and made the day a lot less stressful they were hard working and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, we asked for extra boxes which were delivered without hesitation. Bernadette is very experienced and is very professional and gave us some very helpful and useful advice on packing. Bernadette and her team all work very hard to make moving home a good experience. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.

Customer care

Interesting reading through the reviews all the bad ones seems to have a common theme, Bernadette Dale.
The drivers we had Nigel and Paul were excellent, Lorraine who I spoke to on the phone was courteous and helpful.
On our first meeting with Bernadette she was taken around our home and was instructed what items were to be moved and which items were not as they were going to be discarded by us. At the end she handed us a quotation saying moving is a stressful time but we would to have no worries as Care Move would make it worry free.
Moving day arrived and upon entering our main bedroom one of the drivers said a wardrobe needed to be dismantled, so he phoned Bernadette to request a 3rd person to carry out that task.
Bernadette arrived within minutes speaking to the driver at her car, she then raced up our drive thrust a piece of paper under my nose pointing to “requiring 2 men no dismantling” saying 3rd man not quoted for dismantling, turned walked away and drove off in her car.
I did not get a good morning or a goodbye or even the chance to offer to pay extra for an additional service.

Looking at the quotation there is no mention for either dismantling or not having to dismantle. We dismantled the wardrobe ourselves but unfortunately we damaged it, which is our fault.

I wrote a letter to Bernadette complaining about her attitude that morning and our disgust in her misleading quotation. She then followed that up with a telephone call in which I could hardly get a word in! I found her attitude to be dismissive, rude, abrasive and very unprofessional. There was certainly very little customer care involved in the conversation.

My recommendation when having a quote from Bernadette is to make sure all the T’s and I’s are crossed and dotted. I would even go as far as making a list of what is to be transported and get her to sign it so it would not be one person’s word against another

I can assure you nobody called me during your removal. I arrived enroute to my depot at 7.10am to deliver the job sheet of which you and I made todgether. There is nothing misleading. 45 years of experience and a qualification allows me to be direct and above all honest. It is only the ill maners of yourself! swearing at me and using abusive terminology simply will not be tolorated. You man me women!! its a thing of the past.... Sorry to inform you, I am your equal.
