I signed up for the annual worldwide cover which was great value. My wife recently scuffed an alloy wheel on our hire car in Portugal (I usually do the driving abroad!). The true test of an insurance company is how they deal with claims and I'm happy to report carhireexcess.ie were extremely efficient. All I had to do was upload a few documents (from memory drivers license, rental agreement, damage report and credit card statement) . Within a few days the money appeared in my bank account. It's refreshing to see a well run efficient company when so many others seem to have gone to the dogs.
