This company is a disgraceful excuse for a car leasing company. Getting your deposit returned is an ongoing process lasting months and months of emails that do not get answered, calls which get transferred to numbers that never answer.
They are basically trying to steal the money, hoping that people give up chasing or in the current climate are leaving the country,

They state they are busy, don't see how if people look at the internet reviews.

They respond to every good review, presumably because they write them themselves, why not respond to some of the bad ones like a proper company would and give satisfactory customer service.

Horrible customer service, refund not given for Deposit over 7 months.
Covid staff reductions is their excuse, and that they are working on it. But no sign of refund.

NEVER TAKE CAR LEASE

Attention, this company - Carlease will take your deposit (500 usd) and will never give it back! I’m trying to return the deposit back for 8 months (starting from January).
Never ever think to rent the car here!

They do not return your deposit! I rented a car out on 21st March, till now I am waiting for my 1500 AED deposit. Not only that but a couple months later they took out an excess charge of 2457 AED. This was on the 19th May 2020. Upon calling they said it was a mistake and error, I have been chasing up ever since for my deposit and excess charge, till now 19th June 2020, nothing has been refunded! Absolute FRAUD! Would NOT recommend using this company at all to anybody!! They now keep saying they are backlogged due to coronavirus, which is an absolute LIE because many people have experienced the same issue before the pandemic from reading previous reviews! Will now definitely be going to the UAE police to report this company for FRAUD!!!

Oh just to add! I also hired a car and it did not have seatbelts in the back, when I contacted to tell them their exact words were “UAE models of this car do not come with seatbelts.” JUST ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH!

WORST COMPANY- DO NOT EVER RENT FROM CARLEASE- DUBAI. I returned my car in FEB 2020, till now they dont refund the deposit. Have called so many times and sent email, no response at all.

They are horrible company to deal with.I returned my car in Jan and till now they haven’t return my refund.They are cheaters taking in people money fraudulently.I want to know how to complain abt these cheaters

This is by far the worst company I have ever used for car rental. They have fraudulently taken three large payments from my account which have not been returned three months later. I returned the car two months ago and I am still waiting for my deposit.
This company owe me over 5,000aed.
I have opened a case with DED but they seem to be dragging their feet also with getting my money returned.
I am Disgusted to read that this is the regular occurrence from this company and my mind is blown how they are still operating.

No management will take my call and all emails are being ignored.

They will not return your deposit even after 4 months.
I rented and returned a car from Carlease for 4 days in Oct. 2019 without fault or fines. It is now April 2020 and I am still calling or following with them to return my initial deposit of AED 1500, result was typical email that next week.
I have opened case in DED and following with DED.

I extremely recommend to everyone to avoid this company at all.

Carlease stole a lot of money from my bank account : I rented a car in October 2019 using my credit card. Few weeks after I gave back the car, Carlease took twice big amounts of money from my bank account without my authorization. When I raised a complaint, they said that someone inside the company took the money "by mistake" and that they will reimburse me. Today, more than 6 months after I returned the car, they neither reimbursed the money which was stolen from my account, nor they gave me back my deposit. A total amount exceeding 5300 dhs (more than 1500 US Dollars). I do not recomment to deal with them at all !

I have never experienced such a terrible and fraudulent company before. I rented and returned a car from Carlease in Discovery Gardens in January without fault or fines. A month later my card, as acknowledged by them, was charged an additional AED 1050 in error. It is now March and I am still waiting to receive my initial deposit of AED 1500 and the extra 1050 that was later charged for no reason. I would advise anyone to avoid this company entirely.

This is lier company. They are not giving back my security amount even for after 1 and half month. Strongly not recommend. Extremely poor and bad service. Please don't use. They will not return ur security amount.

I rent a car for 1 month in October 2019, they took twice the deposit from my card and I had to chase they to return 1 deposit.
When I returned the car after one month, they told me, they will return my deposit after 21 days.
We are in April 2021, they still didn’t return anything.
I’ve been in touch with them by email and they always reply with the same email template that they apologized for the inconvenience and bla bla bla... it seems that they are used to proceed like this by screwing their clients.

I can not recommend this company at all! They double charge, they keep in the deposit. You have to write 100's of e-mails and spend 100's of minutes to sort everything out. Rent somewhere else, please!

Arrived from the UK, hired the car, a few months later the car engine cut out while driving, if I had been on the highway it would have been fatal, no power and no steering, as it happened, thankfully i was stuck at a set of traffic lights at the time. They replaced this car with a car which had no breaks (metal grinding on metal) and no petrol, I had to drive very slowly due to having no breaks and attempting to get to a closest petrol station before running out of fuel. Clearly the car was not road worthy. I returned the car and received another. This company is very expensive and the cars I had been given showed the company had no health & Safety standards so I found another rental company who offered a larger, more reliable and cost efficient car elsewhere. The day i returned the car to Car Lease all the tyres were fully inflated, I don't drive cars without ensuring the tyres are inflated. I work on a newly constructed site and must have ran over a nail when leaving work which slowly released air pressure in the rear tyre. By the time I arrived at Carlease the tyre was unknowingly flat. ( I would have felt a flat front tyre straight away)Francis, Car Lease employee, rudely spoke about my car return in Hindi to his colleagues in front of me, he point blank refused to listen to what I had to say about the flat tyre which I had only discovered when i reached Car Lease. To top it off he blamed me for the flat tyre, saying i had to pay AED350 for a new tyre. I had a colleague follow my car (to take me back to work) who also attested to the fact that the car was fine when I left work. Yet Francis, the Car Lease employee took it upon himself to adamantly not listen to us and charge me for a tyre replacement at a cost of AED350. I had previously rented a car with another well known company for 9 years in Dubai without one hitch, I have to say the service at Car Lease is not only deplorable but the cars they offered me were not road worthy and dangerous, with no Health & Safety standards. They then had the cheek to blame me for a flat tyre and charge me for replacing it. Totally unacceptable business practice.

In town for a short business trip and needed a car last minute for a meeting Abu Dhabi. They were the fastest to respond and get organized. Appreciate their efficiency

Worst experience ever! There was a rental agreement for one month. But of course in the middle of the month they automatically charged for the next month to. Then i had to follow up for months to get the deposit back and even longer to get the double charged amount back. And now, months later they say it was recharged twice. Which i dont see anywhere. So I have to deal with them again. I can't recommend this company at all. Except you have enough time to deal with all this for several months.

I've read all your reviews. Also had big problems with carlease, they didn't return me the deposit of 1500 aeds. The wrote mails, that they return, blablabla ... Nothing! After a month of getting such mails i've got tired and used chargeback (using my bank). 4 months and my deposit is back :).

Do not hesitate, use chargeback! You have the contract, you have mails, you have payment receipt, you have this forum! Take all this information - and contact your bank!
