Hi the whole process of finacing my car was so well done by car money everyone was so helpful especially Mo who talked me through everything and they found me an excellent finance deal many thanks to you all Ewan

I am posting this because CarMoney has not acknowledged my complaint, has not provided any update, and is not answering calls to the complaints team.

I submitted a formal complaint with full diagnostic evidence regarding a serious EGM/emissions system failure on my financed vehicle. CarMoney is required under FCA DISP rules to acknowledge complaints promptly and keep customers updated. None of this has happened.

I have emailed multiple times with no reply. I have tried calling the complaints line and it is not taking calls. At this point, I have no confirmation that my complaint has even been logged. I am unable to use the car for fear of making the situation worst. So far I am £85.00 out of pocket for diagnostics.

This lack of communication is unacceptable for a regulated finance provider. I am now requesting a public response here on Trustpilot confirming:

My complaint has been received

It has been logged correctly

A named handler has been assigned

When I will receive an update

If CarMoney continues to ignore my complaint, I will escalate this to the Financial Ombudsman Service for failure to follow FCA complaint‑handling requirements.

I expect CarMoney to respond to this review promptly.

Absolutely Not Recommended – Stay Away from CarMoney

This was by far one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. I expected a finance broker to make buying a car easier, but CarMoney did exactly the opposite.

CarMoney disclosed that they were receiving commission for arranging my finance, yet despite acting as the broker, when a dispute arose over the administration fee with the dealership, I was left to deal with the dealer directly. Instead of resolving the issue on my behalf, I had to negotiate with the dealership myself and ultimately pay the administration fee to keep the purchase from falling through.

From the very beginning, the dealership made it clear that if CarMoney insisted on charging their administration fee, the deal should be cancelled. Instead of resolving the issue with the dealership before asking me to proceed, CarMoney continued pushing me to sign the finance agreement while the problem remained unresolved.

I completed all the required paperwork, ID verification and insurance, believing everything was in order. Only afterwards did I discover that the purchase was at risk because of the dispute between CarMoney and the dealership. I even had to send messages explaining that I would have to cancel the insurance and the entire purchase if the issue was not resolved.

Rather than taking ownership of the situation, CarMoney simply told me they had sent the funds to the dealership and that I should arrange everything directly with the dealer. I was left chasing the dealership for updates and trying to resolve a problem that should never have become my responsibility.

Buying a car should be an exciting experience, not a stressful one. Instead, CarMoney turned it into an exhausting and frustrating process, leaving me to sort out problems between themselves and the dealership while they had already received their commission for arranging the finance.

I will never use CarMoney again and I would not recommend them to anyone. If you’re considering using CarMoney, my advice is simple: look elsewhere. There are many finance brokers available, and based on my experience I cannot recommend CarMoney in any way. Save yourself the stress and use a company that supports its customers instead of leaving them to deal with issues on their own.
