Simply put, Carvana is a better way to buy a car. You can browse, finance, and purchase a car online and have it delivered to you as soon as the next day. Cutting out the dealerships translates to thousands of dollars in lower costs on every vehicle we sell. We pass these savings on to consumers in four ways: lower prices (our customers save $1,430 on average per purchase), premium cars, a better experience, and no hidden fees.

We bought a 2024 Honda Civic from Carvana. On the very first day a brand-new tire developed a bubble. Firestone replaced it, leaving the car with three mismatched tires—a clear safety issue.
The next day the check-engine light came on. Honda diagnosed a EPS malfunction and an emissions leak (i’m not sure how the vehicle passed an NC state inspection to sell, it shouldn’t have) and they performed a recall as well. The light came back on the following day, so we initiated an exchange for a 2022 Honda Civic. The exchange was handled poorly from carvana to begin with as they were trying to over charge for this vehicle and saying we owed more. (the 2022 was less than the 2024)
While completing the exchange, Carvana offered a zero-dollar-a-month Premium warranty which i’ll add a photo of. When we tried to accept it we were told to contact them to add it. At the pickup location the representative said they couldn’t add it there but assured us we could add the warranty any time during the seven-day return window. We signed the papers and took the car.
Immediately after leaving, a piece of plastic was dragging from the vehicle. We returned and they zip-tied it in place.
The next day we called to add the warranty we had been promised. We were told it had to have been added before we signed the papers—directly contradicting what the representative had said. We opened a claim and have heard nothing back in two weeks.
The 2022 Civic showed steering problems from the start which we assumed was related to the recall (the recall that I had performed on the 2024 a few days prior) however, Honda confirmed the entire power-steering rack needs to be replaced, at our expense. I am still dealing with this and the car has been sitting at Honda for half the time that I have owned it (which has only been 13 days)
The Plate transfer was never completed properly as well. We paid fees and submitted the proper forms for a plate transfer and were told we would receive a refund check in the mail for what we over paid. We still have the trade-in plates, received a new set and registration we should not have gotten, and are now being fined for an insurance lapse caused by Carvana’s failure to process the paperwork.
They also forgot to have us sign required documents on the payoff check, FedExed it back with the wrong address, and delayed everything further. Two weeks later the trade-in still has not been paid off, so we will have to make another payment on a car we no longer own.
Working with the silver rock warranty company has also been a task. The customer service has been gravely unhelpful. After numerous phone calls and pleading with them, it still took them 3 days for them to send an inspector out to Honda to verify the problem before they can move forward. They then tried to recommend unqualified repair facilities. After I told them that the car has been sitting at Honda waiting for repair because it is unsafe to drive, they said I had a $350 out of network copay (even though Honda is the most qualified facility and has the best tools to repair this highly intricate system safely and efficiently. You wouldn’t want a tire shop replacing your entire steering component would you?).
I know reading this sounds like a nightmare, and the nightmare has been my life for the last 2 weeks because of carvana (and it’s still not over because I STILL don’t have the brand new car I just bought) From day one this has been a series of mechanical defects, broken promises, paperwork failures, and complete radio silence on our claim. We would not recommend Carvana to anyone.

It was quick easy and the car was picked up the next day. All in all, a truly successful way to sell our vehicle! The pickup driver was really nice and courteous!

What an easy, straightforward and efficient experience! We got a great offer, in fact the best offer was from Carvana. We selected an appt time and it took 15 minutes from arrival to seeing our truck off on its way. Great communication from the pickup driver. We received our payment direct deposit in less than 24 hours! We will definitely use Carvana again if needed.

I would have given a 5 star rating except for one thing. First, I’d like to say that getting a quote for the car was quick and easy. I had some questions and spoke with-I believe-Melody or Melonie, who was incredibly friendly, polite and helpful. Once my paperwork was accepted, I had more questions. I called and spoke with Calvin, who also was wonderful and helpful! For our situation, we apparently live in an area when Carvana does not pick up the car you are selling. I was selling my daughter’s car for her and she lives out of state. For no fee, I had to deliver the car 130 miles away, which meant getting someone to follow me so I could get home. Additionally, since my daughter was the owner, she had to be at the sale, so she as well had to get to the location and get back to her home. We opted to have the car picked up where she lived, which involved a $350 pick up fee. All and all, this was not the issue. I asked on my first phone call to customer service where I would have to deliver the car to if they didn’t pick up in my area. She couldn’t give me that information as my p/w had not yet been approved/accepted. This was frustrating as we were on a time constraint. Our pick-up driver was Wallace and he, too, was fantastic. Friendly, smiling and easy-going! We will certainly recommend Carvana to anyone looking to sell their car! Price offered and held was higher than any dealership in our area. Thanks for an overall great experience!

Everything from the offer to the closing of the sale was great, simple, and easy completion of on line forms. Pick up was exactly as scheduled, young lady that came for pick up of my vehicle was very efficient, pleasant and very good at her job. Received payment at time of pickup, no waiting time. Overall experience was great, keep up the good work, I would recommend Carvana to anyone looking to buy or sell a vehicle, you made the process very easy and pleasant.

The experience was less smooth than my previous selling experiences, as the pickup driver was clueless about the title. However, a Carvana customer rep called the driver and explained to him, and I did not have to worry about delays. Incredible service, as always; however, pickup drivers need to be more informed.

It was simple and a smooth transaction. Unlike a private sale or dealing with dealers there were no questionable quirks along the process. I provided the necessary information and the quote came back. There was no variation from that quote upon pickup. Carvana and I got a reasonable transaction. My only quibble would be the deducted charge of $250.00 to pickup the car. The only other option was to drop off at Carvanas facility 40 miles away, either way a money loser.Carvana is sure to make enough profit that it could have absorbed that cost. Other than that disappointing issue of lost money it was smooth and everyone was quite helpful along the way.

Smooth and stressless transaction on a Sunday morning. Sam the driver provided great communication on the pickup date with ETA. Funds were available in my account Monday morning.

The employee was professional and very nice and called me a few times with updates on the time for the pickup of my truck. He was on time and very nice and polite and we had a great transaction the price was a little lower than what I was quoted but I would recommend you to any of my friends

The online process to sell my vehicle was simple and easy to navigate from providing my vehicle information, submitting documents and scheduling an appointment. I was disappointed that at home pickup was not an option even though I live less than 15 miles from local Carvana location. However the appointment was easy and fast, in and out in 15 minutes and received my payment next day via direct deposit.

Tried a couple other options before Carvana, they certainly gave me more $ than I expected. Very easy experience and scheduling pickup was convenient. Thanks 🤙🏽

Not So Good morning , I'm highly disappointed in my first and last buying experience with Carvana for several reasons most importantly the amount of money that I'm paying overall for a vehicle that was guaranteed to go through a 150 plus inspection, with the promise of getting a vehicle that was supposed to be cleaned and reconditioned. Only to receive the vehicle in question and it was beyond filthy. Also I have to take time out my day and make multiple phone calls on multiple days repeatedly to try to get a fair resolution to my unfair and unprofessional situation. I paid almost a thousand dollar shipping to have a vehicle be delivered to me that was supposed to be cleaned and reconditioned, but instead that wasn't the case and for me! Now I have to come out of my pocket with more money to pay someone to do what should have been done before I received the vehicle is highly disappointing and not a good look for your company. Now if I return the vehicle I'm out of almost a thousand dollars or if I keep the vehicle I'm out of money so it's a no win situation for me regardless of what decision I make. Mind you I presented photos and a fair estimate to have the car detailed to Carvana only for them to say they won't honor the detailing estimate and I could send the vehicle back but I wouldn’t receive my shipping fee back even though this whole situation is clearly their fault, is very disheartening.
Sincerely
Anthony Johnson

Absolutly terrible. Pickup appointment was rescheduled twice and once I picked it upi was informed it would need new batteries. I could refuse the truck or make a warrenty claim and pay the deductible. While filing a clam I was informed it had to go to Ford because its still under warrenty. Turns out the batteries were just fine the issues were caused by faulty emissions equipment. As of right now it will be at the dealership for a week possibly even longer. Carvana refuses to assist witha rental in any way. Basically told me its not our problem since its under a Ford warrenty. These problems should have been addressed before delivery. Customer service extended my return period so after all repair are made I can return it. Why would I do that after going through the trouble to get fixed what should have been fixed before delivery? Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE CARVANA.

BUYER BEWARE — I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CARVANA AGAIN
My purchase was 2017 Mercedes Gle 350
My experience with Carvana has been absolutely unacceptable from beginning to end.
First, my pickup was rescheduled THREE different times, which was frustrating enough. But the much bigger problem was the condition of the vehicle Carvana ultimately sold me.
Thankfully, I spent $400 out of my own pocket for an independent inspection immediately after receiving the car. That inspection uncovered numerous mechanical problems that Carvana apparently missed—including SAFETY-RELATED issues. The repairs ended up costing close to $4,000, which SilverRock had to cover.
Think about that: Carvana sold me a vehicle with thousands of dollars in mechanical repairs needed, including safety concerns, yet it took an inspection that I paid for to discover them.
The cosmetic condition wasn’t represented well either. There were numerous scratches and imperfections that were not properly disclosed in the listing photos. The so-called detailing was also horrible. For a company that advertises a convenient, hassle-free car-buying experience, I expected the vehicle to at least arrive properly inspected, accurately represented and clean.
Customer service was another disappointment. Instead of taking real ownership of the situation, the answer repeatedly seemed to be that I could just exchange the vehicle for another one. That’s not a solution. I shouldn’t have to keep swapping vehicles hoping that eventually Carvana sends me one that was properly inspected.
Carvana may say SilverRock handles the warranty and repairs, but that doesn’t excuse Carvana from selling vehicles that should have been thoroughly inspected before being handed over to a customer in the first place.
And to be clear, I have the pictures, independent inspection report, repair documentation and receipts to back up everything stated in this review. This isn’t speculation or exaggeration. I have documentation showing the condition of the vehicle and the repairs that were necessary after I received it.
If you’re considering buying from Carvana, my advice is simple: PAY FOR YOUR OWN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION IMMEDIATELY. Do not assume their inspection caught everything. Mine uncovered thousands of dollars in problems that I otherwise might not have known about.
Between three pickup reschedules, undisclosed cosmetic damage, terrible detailing, major mechanical and safety issues, and unhelpful customer service, I’ve completely lost confidence in Carvana.
I will never purchase another vehicle from Carvana. Buyer beware.

The process was very easy and convenient. The price they quoted was reasonable. We did have to drive 115 miles to drop it off, because the pick up fee was more than I wanted to pay. I was very happy that they electronically deposted the money for the price they quoted.

I knew it would be quick and easy, but it was even quicker and easier than I expected. Pickup was on a Saturday and took minutes, and the money was in my account on Monday. The employee they sent to my house could not have been more friendly or helpful, and he explained everything very well.

Price offered was in line with KBB pricing for private sale. Everything was online so didn't actually speak to an individual. First offer expired because I didn't follow thru with acceptance as we hadn't found our replacement vehicle yet. Second offer was $600 less than first offer. After we accepted second offer then there was information that needed to be uploaded to verify odometer reading, our driver's licenses for proof of who we were. Also needed a statement from our bank loan for payoff information proving the information we provided was validated. Information for what was needed could have been up front so I was better prepared. It might have been and I just missed it. Not sure. At least I could follow the steps as they came. Just took me a while to scan and save to upload. Some of us older folks don't readily use the internet for things like that. Once everything was uploaded and satisfied Carvana, it was time to set an appointment for delivery of our vehicle. Our choice was for where vehicle was to be dropped was 161 miles away. If we took it to Carvana there, we wouldn't have to pay pickup fee. Since we only had one vehicle and didn't have anyone to follow us there, we had to pay another $590 for someone to come pick our vehicle up. There are a couple of hubs closer, about 50 miles from us. That we could have managed to find someone to follow us. We asked Michelle when she came to pick up the vehicle why we couldn't have used one of them. She explained that they weren't doing business out of those hubs yet. She was very considerate and helpful with information. After she inspected our vehicle and run a diagnostic test on it, then took pictures to send back to Carvana, and loaded it. She then initiated our payment to our bank account. Pickup was on Friday morning, by Saturday morning the payment was showing as pending in our bank account. It posted on Monday. Then they paid our loan off within a week. Service was smooth and accurate. I would recommend Carvana to anyone needing to sell their vehicle.
