Communication with the Castell y bwch team has been fabulous. Diolch.
Our honest opinion on a whole.
Our food was exceptional.
The sirloin, rump steak, Welsh beef curry, vegan chilli, hunters chicken, lasagne, chicken nuggets (for the kids) all meals were piping hot. The table service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
We were given a bottle of Rosa wine, such a lovely gesture.

We visited Castell-y-Bwch today as a group of six for an anniversary celebration and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Not a single complaint from the table, which says it all. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was great throughout.
We all felt well looked after and relaxed, making it a really enjoyable visit. We’ll definitely be back and would happily recommend it to others.

I had the chicken with a medley of veg at Castell Y Bwch, and it was amazing.
You can taste the care that goes into every bite — perfectly cooked meat, rich gravy, and vegetables done just right. The table service was incredibly fast, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly that it felt like being among family.

The atmosphere is warm, and relaxing.

I don’t say this lightly, but this was the best Sunday dinner I’ve had

Monday lunchtime for 8 friends.
Lots unavailable (lasagne, curry, 3 of the desserts)
Food arrived ok but looked very plain for the money. Chips were cheap & very dry. Vegetarian meal was obviously wellington left over from Sunday, over-reheated, burnt and dry, served with the dry chips, a salad that was just limp lettuce and very strangely gravy- never been served lettuce & gravy before. Scampi was cheap minced nuggets & hunters chicken was made with chicken thighs, connective tissue included. 8 v poor meals. Service politely apologetic but saying the chicken would be £30 if they used breast meat! And, to top it all the whippy ice-cream in desserts was off. Offered free drinks in compensation but had £5 each taken from the bill. Worst meal we’ve ever had. Very disappointed.

Went for Sunday lunch today on the reviews of others who had eaten there and recommended it . Overall it was a meal of two halves . Our main meal was very nice , but the side vegetables were Luke warm . Two drinks one with soda and one with coke were flat . We had to ask for the desert menu twice as the first server forgot . Deserts came at different times and the custard with the apple pie was the star of the show - obviously made in house it contained lumps and was grainy , as the custard powder had not been cooked out ( I would expect a gastro pub to get this right ) . The staff were on the whole attentive and pleasant - this made up for the foods shortcomings .

Been for Sunday lunch today, food was excellent and service outstanding. Highly recommend this place

We took our parents to the Castell for a mother's day dinner today and wow!
What fantastic food and loads of it too, very friendly and polite staff who couldn't do enough for us. I must say since it's under new ownership how this place has been transformed. They offer a great, friendly environment where you're not rushed and pushed out the door.

Had a meal here this week. I had pizza and hubby had ham, egg, beans and chips. Food was lovely and very good value. We had dessert of raspberry and lemon cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Both were a lovely finish to the meal. Drinks also 25% off between 4.30 and 6.30. We will eat there again

Amazing food, excellent customer service
I've been on two separate occasions, once with partner and friends and second time with family. Both times the food was top class and the customer service was excellent.

Will definitely be returning

Had a lovely meal for mothers day. Really enjoyed it. Heard they do a lovely steak and ale pie. Looking forward to visiting again. Lovely owners and staff. Was made to feel very welcome.

The new owners have really set the bar high when it comes to a dining experience! I would highly recommend dining here to anyone who wants top quality food with super friendly staff.
