I rate this clinic highly as my regular dental clinic, but this review is specifically about my experience with Invisalign from this clinic. I originally opted for this as I needed a nightguard for jaw pain, and had several issues with alignment which might have been contributing to this. Dr Kolahi was very helpful in explaining my options and talking me through the process, and I felt well supported in what it involved and was made aware that things might need updating based on progress. Along the way, whenever something with the plan needed tweaking or extra time, Dr Kolahi was always flexible with suggesting next steps, and whilst the overall process took longer than originally planned, the results have been so incredible that I am 100% happy with the outcome and the process to get here. Whilst the visible results are clearly noticeable, the best outcome is what can't be easily seen; my jaw pain is gone and I can bite through food properly finally!

The staff were all very helpful and informative, particularly during my filling when the dentist talked me through each step of the process to make sure I was comfortable.

Had a great experience, the quality of dentistry work is excellent, and doctors are very caring and thoughtful! Also staff are very kind and patient though a few times I was late! Done a few fillings and no problem so far which shows great work n good quality products! Defo recommend it

Unfortunately, our experience with the practice manager was extremely disappointing.

We were charged a cancellation fee after cancelling due to an acute and contagious illness — the responsible course of action in a healthcare setting.

My family had been sick and up all night on Sunday, we called to reschedule the appointments at 08.31. The receptionist mentioned the cancellation charge, we asked if there was further consideration in the circumstances, the receptionist understandably did not have the authority so we asked to speak to the manager. The manager insisted on the cancellation charge, he was rude and abrupt. I ended the call in a state of shock, after requesting the complaints procedure and feeling more comfortable to follow up professionally in writing.

The fee was only waived after a formal complaint and prolonged correspondence. We were clear by this point that our complaint was not about the fee, but the way the matter had been handled.

The handling was extremely defensive and process-driven rather than resolution-focused. Management have attempted to subsequently reframe events, to cover for their poor handling. It is further worrying that in their desperation they think it is appropriate to publicly disclose additional detail relating to a patient without proper consent.

Our complaint was reviewed by the person who was a substantive part of the complaint, which anyone could recognise as undermining the process, which lacks credibility.

Lastly, during the complaint, we also identified that the limited company operating behind the trading name was not clearly disclosed in any patient-facing materials - including the website, emails, patient treatment plans etc. The practice acknowledge this and we believe they have addressed this going forwards. Yet still, being very defensive they described it as an oversight and attempted to play it down as an administrative oversight. In our view this is more fundamental and raises concerns about transparency and governance and this could undermine practice insurances.

Based on this experience, we have lost all confidence in the manager of the practice and would not recommend it.

Excellent! I’ve been a customer since 1969,

I was able to get a next morning appointment for my grandson after a filling came out as he was chewing a sweet! Dr Karla is wonderful with him. He is unafraid of the dentist, likes going. She explains matters to him, reassures him and talks things through with myself. My husband and I are his kinship foster carers. Nothing is rushed, friendly and kind are how I would describe the whole team there.

Best dentist ever. I’ve been going to Vida and Amanda now for 10+ years and they are simply the best.

I’d had really bad experiences as a child and as a result was frightened of the dentist. When I first went to Vida, she worked with me, took things at my pace and was so caring. Her work is amazing too.. I remb a few yrs ago, the Heath Hospital broke one of my crowns, and I phoned Cathedral in a panic and was told - come straight over - and Vida sorted a handmade temp crown, as I was due to have more treatment at the Heath the following week. Nothings too much trouble for them.

We’ve worked hard since then to get my teeth into such a different place. Incl cosmetic dentistry as well as general routine stuff. All at a pace that’s worked for me.

I travel 40+ mins for each visit, and never have I thought about trying to find a dentist closer to home.

I have been with this practice for several years and have never been disappointed. Just had an appointment with Amy the Hygienist, the lady is a genius, coupled with Indy my dentists and Anil who performed root canal treatment a while back, the three make a formidable team. Everyone is so helpful and caring.

Cathedral Dental Clinic have been providing me and my two children dental health care for a number of years. We have always had an excellent experience and have never felt worried ahead of any of our appointments because the level of care is so high. The receptionists, dentists and hygienists are all really friendly, accommodating and professional.

My children and I have been happy customers of Cathedral Dental Clinic for years, but our recent experience of the Clinic really demonstrates exemplary service. My nine-year-old daughter had a nasty accident in school and badly chipped her two adult front teeth. She was seen as an emergency within an hour of calling, and a temporary fix was put in place. This was a huge relief for my daughter who was very self-conscious about the damage. She returned two days later to have two fillings to repair her teeth.

All of the staff were kind, respectful and caring, particularly the dentist and his assistant who both went out of their way to make sure the experience was pain-free for a scared and hurt child. The reception team was very helpful and sympathetic.

A follow-on trip to the hygienist was similarly excellent: she was kind, gentle and explained everything perfectly.

Amazing expiernce , chipped my tooth yesterday at lunch time and was fixed by 3pm due to the brilliant service , very thankful

Cathedral Dental are a great clinic - they always make you feel safe and reassured during your appointments. I have been going to them for about 4 years now and wouldn’t consider going elsewhere!

I can’t stand dentists…not personally…but I’m just so scared and out of my comfort zone. The Cathedral Dental Clinic changed my view. They understood my fear, cared about my treatment and the results were amazing. I will be forever grateful. Outstanding.

Incredibly friendly receptionist’s that attended to every need. I needed an emergency appointment and they managed to see me and sort my problem out straight away on a Monday morning. Really happy with the work that was done, would never use another dentist in Cardiff!

Had an exceptional experience at cathedral dental clinic. From dealing with the girls at the front desk to the treatment itself, it was seamless.
What could quite easily be a daunting experience for some, my experience with this dental practice has made me want to go back and continue dealing with the team. 5 stars
