Ripped off

I am a 71 year old female. On the 2nd March 2022 I attended an appointment at Causeway Dental Clinic which was booked on the phone. It was for a new partial denture and would include the dentist checking my mouth, then the technician advising me as to my options regarding the type of denture that would be suitable etc.

I was informed that the price would be £48 all in and if I required an x-ray it would be an extra £10.

An x-ray was not required, however, after the technician had advised me of the type and cost of the suitable denture, I told him that I would have to discuss it with my husband but he was insisting that he could start the treatment right away. I felt that I was being pressurised, so when I went to pay, the bill had risen to £95!!  I queried this and reminded them that th all in quote was £48 but the receptionist said the extra £47 (almost double the quote) was because I didn't take the treatment and insisted that I pay the £95 which I had to do. Totally unacceptable.

New customers beware and make sure you get your quote in writing, otherwise you could end up in my situation. Pensioners don't have money to throw away. I gave 1 star because I couldn't give 0.
