I found Censeo Financial to be extremely thorough and very patient while I gathered all the required paperwork. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to handle my case. A special thank you to Dave B (his depth of experience really showed in the sensitive and thoughtful way he managed everything) and to Jay for consistently following up with me throughout the process.

Matthew and Ruth at Censeo have been brilliant. They've helped me navigate tricky aspects of my staircasing and decipher jargon where I was having a hard time with the banks and housing association. They were able to find me a mortgage where banks directly weren't helpful. Thank you for all your help. We are almost there finally. There were some delays from unexpected staffing issues at a point, that I would have liked to have avoided, but Ruth went over and above to put things back up to the high standards I expected of Censeo, as per previous experience. I am a returning customer.

The team at Censeo have been great, always willing to help and make things so much more simpler for everyone involved. Jonathan H has been an absolute gent, he worked tirelessly to make things simple and easy for me to understand as this was my first application for a mortgage. It's been a long process due to constraints outside our control but thus never seemed to effect Jonathan's effort to help resolve the issue.
Ruth came on how to help with the Final transition and has been very prompt and efficient with communication, she has been very professional in all interactions. Very welcoming also.
I've felt with my time with Censeo, that I was more than just another customer and someone they generally wanted the best for.

I had a poor experience with Censeo Financial during the required financial assessment process.

I was questioned about my credit score in a way that suggested a lack of understanding of how credit scoring works, which didn’t inspire confidence.

They pushed me to buy a larger share of a Shared Ownership property than I was comfortable with, presenting it as “affordability”, even though it would have meant higher monthly payments and greater long-term cost. They also implied that the estate agents might reject my application if I didn’t buy the maximum share deemed affordable, which felt like unnecessary pressure rather than balanced advice.

There was also a strong attempt to upsell additional paid services, including fees to handle the mortgage and to join their service so they could contact me about remortgaging in the future.

Overall, the experience felt more focused on upselling and pushing maximum affordability rather than providing impartial, client-focused guidance.

Ended up using someone else instead once the financial assessment was successful.

I would definitely recommend Censeo as a first time buyer. Both David and Ruth have been friendly and patient with me. They have always explained things very clearly and have kept me up to date throughout.
