Received a letter in the post unsolicited suggesting we could receive a £10k refund on Stamp Duty. This is obviously nonsense.

Be very careful as you may pay fees to this company, receive an automatic refund from HMRC but then, when they review your file, have to repay all of it.

*adding a note here as the company has tried to claim we haven't had a genuine experience with them. I made clear in my review that we'd received an unsolicited letter from the company offering this £10k refund. That's a genuine experience. A quick Google will tell you that tax experts and lawyers warn against using this type of claim as the SDLT may be repaid by HMRC now but then reclaimed *years* later. Caveat emptor

*adding another note to say that I've now reached out to HMRC to ask them to verify the statement that the company is HMRC recognised.

Incredibly responsive and thoughtful service from a highly competent team.
We warily responded to a cold call letter as we were previously unaware this service existed. After some modest desk research and speaking to Carlos, we were swiftly reassured.
Their extensive experience and niche valuation expertise appeared to us to be well worth their success fee. And of course they are on risk as well, so no cost to the client if the claim is unsuccessful.
The sum finally recovered was in excess of their (to us) seemingly high initial estimate and a very meaningful windfall for us.

I received the letter from the SD Advisory service and filed it in a pile of non important things to do, and 10 months later finally got round to it, prompted because of the 12 moth deadline! I took the plunge and went through with the process, reassured reading the Trust pilot reviews, but still skeptical. The process itself was quick and smooth, just had to to ask our solicitor for some information they hadn’t originally provided. We got the £2000 SD refund as promised, amazing, why don’t more people know about this? A big thanks to Carlos and team, and brilliant service thank you.

I was so sceptical about this letter that came through the door when we first moved into our new house, but for some reason decided to call the number and I’m so glad I did! I’ve just been transferred my refund from HMRC (minus the fee) and still can’t quite believe it worked! Definitely give it a go and use StampTax to go through the process. It probably took 15 minutes of my time maximum to receive over £2000 back. Well worth it!

After seeing the reviews I decided to give Stamp Duty Advisory Services a go and the whole process was relatively straightforward. After getting hold of the documents needed the team there did everything and submitted on our behalf. All very easy and would highly recomend.

I received a letter from Carlos and almost dismissed it but thought I'd check on Trust Pilot and the reviews were all 5 stars. So, a quick video call walk through the house followed and a few weeks later, a Stamp Duty refund of over £2,500. The whole process was very straightforward, very professional and very quick. Plus a great result - stamp duty is such a ridiculous tax, so it is extra sweet to get some of it back from the grasp of HMRC. Huge thanks to the whole team.

We received a letter from Stamp Duty Advisory Services a few weeks after buying our new home, and to be honest, we were very suspicious at first. The idea that we’d overpaid stamp duty sounded far too good to be true. Even our accountant was doubtful!

But after reading other Trustpilot reviews and then speaking with Carly (who was extremely helpful and patient while we asked a LOT of questions), we decided to go ahead. We’re so glad we did.

The whole process couldn’t have been simpler: one virtual tour of our home, a couple of forms to sign, and sending over some documents from our house purchase — that was it.
