Do Not Use - Impersonates ChatGPT, Blocks Cancellations, Inferior Product
In short:
- Chatbotapp website is deliberately designed to mimic ChatGPT
- Cancellation button disabled; refund requests sent to "team for review" but never processed
- Identical pattern of impersonation and systematic denials documented by hundreds of customers on Reddit, OpenAI forums, and Trustpilot
- Complaints dating back years with no changes to their deceptive practices - clearly a business model, not an accident. They depend on customers to mistakenly sign up for a subscription.
- The AI service itself is significantly inferior to ChatGPT. You're not getting multiple AI products at a discount. The responses are low quality.
My experience with them:
Their website is intentionally designed to deceive customers into believing they are purchasing ChatGPT. After signing up, I noticed that the responses to my queries were lower quality than my usual experience with ChatGPT, and googled to see if other people were having similar experiences with what I believed was ChatGPT. This is when I discovered reddit forums complaining about a website called chatbotapp that looks like ChatGPT but is not affiliated with openAI. These other customers also believed they had purchased a ChatGPT subscription because the website looked so similar.
I attempted to cancel and get a refund through the Chatbotapp account settings but this option was greyed out so I emailed their support directly within 1-2 hours of purchase. Was told that their team would review my request and get back to me.
I waited several days for a response and contacted them via email again to get an update on the refund request. Never received a response to my email. At this point, I attempted to get a refund through Paddle - their payment servicer but Paddle said I was not eligible for a refund because my request is after 3 days. I clarified that I contacted Chatbotapp within hours - the delay was caused by waiting for their "team review" that never happened. Paddle then agreed to process my refund.
A week later, I returned to Paddle to check on the status of the refund request and received verbatim, the exact same denial message despite Paddle previously confirming the refund would be processed.
This is systematic fraud designed to trap customers into unwanted subscriptions. Avoid this company.

ChatGPT FAKE - STAY AWAY!!!!
I wanted a ChatGPT subscription, and I do not know how this chatbot AI came about. It's a scam link and a fake rip off of ChatGPT. I realised the mistake, bit the bullet and cancelled the subscription later that year.
SURPRISE! I was charged again for another year by this fake ChatGPT. (100% sure I cancelled on the dashboard) I sent email after email to all the robots, who replied with assurances that a Turkish customer service representative would contact me. Of course, they have not. LOOK AT THE REPLIES ON TRUSTPILOT? ALL STANDARD ROBOTIC REPLIES WITH NO RESOLUTION.
I cancelled this again and received a cancellation notification this time; I GET IT NOW. This is their standard practice to obtain two subscriptions from you. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Poor refund policy
Poor refund policy. I purchased because I wanted to compare side by side. I cancelled within a couple hours when there was a HUGE discrepancy with quality and responses. It was concerning enough that I didnt want to give it another day. I asked for a refund and was denied and sent their refund policy. I was under the days but they said I was over the amount of questions to ask. So the number is exceptionally low. DONT GET!

Misleading branding – not the real ChatGPT
I subscribed to a yearly plan believing this service was the official ChatGPT by OpenAI. The name and marketing strongly suggest that, but it is not affiliated with OpenAI. I only discovered this after purchasing when I looked at my credit card statement and it said I had a Paddle charge. It is then I discovered that I bought the false ChatGPT. I was enabled to get a refund.
This lack of clear disclosure is misleading. Had it been obvious at the point of purchase that this was a third-party app, I would not have subscribed — especially not for a full year.
I feel misled as a consumer and would strongly recommend others verify the company and developer before paying

crap service
paid for premium, used for 1 month, decided to cancel, they offered free month. After that i tried to log in into chatbot, they couldnt find my account i thought that it was actually cancelled as per my initial request and then i received bill for extra month. I tried cancelling with them, but they said that i have used the services, which is not true as i didnt use them for 2 months.

Stay away from Chatbot App - they are just online thugs
First of all, I've landed on their site from ChatGPT site trying to activate a subscription. 2nd, they charge you twice also for an extra package which I didn't selected. When I realized what happened, I've asked for a refund, which they refused. Last but not least, the service performance is poor, the answers you get are obsolete and old.
