Chatdeal a scam booking company in cahoots with Kayak.
Chatdeal seems to be a joke booking company. I thought I booked with Kayak and without paying attention, I and ended up with this company. I canceled my flight with British Airways due to Covid restriction in Europe. I received an email from Chatdeal that I need to use the credit by April 2023 and later another one which notified me that I need to use it by September 30th 2023. As a matter of fact British Airways has extended credits for tickets canceled during covid until September 2024. My son booked the ticked at the same time directly with British, cancel it due to covid19. British confirmed him that his credit use was extended until 2024.
I have been in contact with Chatdeal agent since beginning of April 2023 to book a ticked and use my credit and I was told from him (Drew if this is his real name) that my credit expired and need to contact British airways. Per Drew, it will take two weeks for British to respond ( as of today, two weeks almost have passed). Even I have an email from them (agent called Claud who no longer respond to emails) that confirms that my credit is still valid until April 30th 2023, Drew, the agent told me that the other agent (so called Claud) who sent the email made a mistake. This is a joke. I think Chatdeal has trained agents to cheat on customers and do whatever it takes to scam them.
As conclusion it seems that I lost $900 to this scam company and I think Kayak collaborating with them without notifying us that booking is redirected to third party company, make it an accomplice . It looks like that both Kayak and Chatdeal are in cahoots with each other to scam people, which make even Kayak an company to unreliable search website for booking flights .
I will contact BBB and use all the other means to make people aware of this scam company.

I made 2 bookings last January 7 and 8…
I made 2 bookings last January 7 and 8 for a trip to the Philippines with my children. Couple of hours after my booking and when I checked the confirmation from Chat deal, I realized I misspelled one letter of my son's name as ARiON instead of ARmON. I called chatdeal right away and told the agent what happened. She then advised me to provide a passport, since my son's passport was expired, I waited 2 months for the passport to arrive. On March 18th, I called them back with my son's renewed passport to request a correction on 1 misspelled letter. I also found out that there was a recent involuntary schedule change to my trip which I could have cancelled my booking and rebook it right away with the correct spelling of my son's name but this was not disclose to me. Would be nice if the agent Kylian was informative enough to offer me best option and mentioned it first before offering me a new flight schedule. I have gone thru many phones calls every week, called American and Japan airlines for help and both the airlines referred me back to chatdeal. Every time I called, agents I spoke with (Anton, Alvaro, Rolex, etc. and even the supervisor Vicky) has the same phrase to me "give us some time", "the airline has not responded yet", "request has been submitted", etc.) I begged to speak to the right department and all they can say " we cannot call them directly". It has been 32 days today and has no update yet. Twice I received an email from Chat deal stating:
1st email- 4/1
please be informed that we are unfortunately unable to process this request as you have a code share flight. Hence, the only alternative is to cancel and rebook. However, the ticket is non-refundable, so there will be only a nominal tax refund should you wish to proceed with the cancellation.
2nd email -4/13
"We have Spoken with the Travel agency Support Team and they have denied the name correction Request".
I called Japan airline if they can do the correction of the misspelled letter and they told me that it has to be done by the chat deal agent and I was even given an instruction to tell Chatdeal to call Japan airlines directly, but Chat deal did not call the airline. I called and spoke with Japan airlines agent and again said same thing.
I spoke to the chat deal agent and supervisor today and again they were asking me to give them some time and wait for 72 business hours for Japan Airlines to respond. I cannot afford to buy another RT tickets and I am really upsets to lose $3.4K that I paid for the booking I made last Jan. 8th.
My kids haven't seen the grandmother since 2005. I convinced my kids to go and visit and spend time while their grandma still mobile and now I don't think this will happen.
My trip is May 29th and I am getting anxious that I would not get any result and my gut telling me I am hitting a dead end. I don't know what to do anymore.
I would never ever do business with chatdeal again nor would refer them.
On the side note: I was appalled when chatdeal agent's supervisor calls me back on my work phone. I did not disclose my work phone in my booking, and I asked the question how the agent got my work phone number, but it was ignored. My experience with them is so outrageous and terribly horrible.
Update: May 2, 2023
I received an email from Chatdeal. This is my 3rd email I received from Chatdeal with the same reason. I called and spoke to Japan airlines and told me that Chatdeal has to called them directly and I did able to connect both Chatdeal agent and JAL agents and the issue is on chatdeal. They are not willing to cancel and rebook the ticket. This mean, I lost my booking!
Chatdeal is a company that does not care of their customer! They not informative to help you!!! They just want your money!
NOTE: Even my name was wrong.
"Dear Elizabeth,
I hope you are well.
I must inform you that we tried to obtain an exception from the airlines, but to my regret, the name correction request was declined for this reservation.
Unfortunately, the airline's response was not a positive one, and due to the fact that you have a codeshare flight, performing name changes is not possible.
I can just apologize that we are unable to fulfill your demand from our end.
We advise you to reach Japan Airlines directly to obtain a different resolution, as the airlines may be more considerate when working with the passenger directly.
In case you have any questions or concerns, please let me know"

Please think twice before booking
Please think twice before booking. I booked a family trip and was denied boarding because my first name was added to my husband's and daughter's middle name. Since they are non-refundable tickets, we had to forfeit the 4 tickets to Asia.
There is no possibility that is a mistake that was made by me since I have never run into this issue for the past 18 years booking multiple trips for my family. I know their legal names so there's no way that I would have made this mistake. It would be absurd for me to add my name to my husband's and daughter's tickets.
Long story short, Chatdeal CC is not taking the responsibility to reimburse us for the cost of our tickets. Even if they didn't manually enter the names into the booking system, there could be a possibility that the blank fields are backfilled with other information therefore causing this error. I don't know what happened but the mistake didn't come from me.
The only option is for them to contact the airline(s) to request a refund and the possibility is almost zero (per agent). Other than that, there are no other recourses. There is no one else (mgr, CEO, others) that I could escalate this to resolve this as it has costs more than $13K on the original flights (booked through Chatdeal) and new flights so that we can salvage part of the trip.
Please consider booking your trip somewhere else even if it will cost you a little more. Customer service is not helpful or willing to help. They will hang up on you when they can't give you an answer.

Horrible customer service - changed departure date
Arranged a flight on Turkish Airlines Business Class from Dallas to Slovenia and then from Budapest back to Dallas. Booked several months in advance and everything went great. Until just last week Turkish Airlines cancelled the flight going from Budapest to Istanbul for a layover. TA wouldn't do anything to get another flight and told us to check with the Third Party we used. Checking the ChatDeal website it had me reschedule the flight, so I found a flight leaving earlier which we booked.
Checking on the itinerary I saw that the flight had changed but we had been charged over $1700 and they had also changed our initial departure date to the next day. There was no reason for them to change that date, we only needed one flight changed and it was TA's fault so should not have been charged.
Several chat sessions ensued and they kept saying a change ticket had been created. And we kept getting notices the issue had been resolved but it never was. Calls to the Help Center would put us through several directories until it just disconnected. My wife finally got through to speak to someone and all he could say was that we had approved the change and nothing could be done. This wasn't good enough and she demanded to speak with a manager to fix this. She was told the manager wasn't in and they would call us tomorrow. We'll see, but after seeing some of the other comments here I'm not certain about receiving that call.

Awful experience with Chatdeal
Awful experience with Chatdeal, via Kayak. They sold me a codeshare with a separate airline despite the flight being advertised as direct from my preferred carrier. They would not believe me when I told them this on the phone. I submitted feedback with screenshots proving what I said and they won’t acknowledge this. When I went to cancel the flight - stated clearly to be ‘free’ on the day of booking they tried to charge me an 80 Pound ‘processing fee’. It was only when I pushed back against this potentially unlawful hidden charge that they suddenly decided they would ‘waive’ the fee. I have submitted feedback on this and they won’t even engage with what I’m saying, sending bland platitudes that they’ve reviewed the call and don’t see anything wrong. I got my money back in the end but awful experience that would’ve been quite costly if I hadn’t pushed back quite hard.
Won’t touch Chatdeal again and it has probably put me off Kayak as well.

I wish I could give them less than 1…
I wish I could give them less than 1 star. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. DO NOT get tickets with this company. Save yourself so much time and headache and just pay more somewhere else. I have been reaching out for weeks and continually gotten lied to saying they are about to reach out and they are expediting my request and yet nothing has been resolved and nobody has reached out. It has been 5 weeks and NOTHING. The service is outrageous and irresponsible. Whatever you do DO NOT get tickets with this company.
Edit post response from ChatDeal:
I have heard this story for the past 5 weeks. It is beyond unacceptable. Multiple times people have said they are working on it and would call back and I have only ever had one person call back… again with the same useless story. Trust me I will never make the mistake of booking through ChatDeal again. This has to be fixed and you have to take the responsibility to do more than apologize and blame it on the airline and wait for them which is the story I have gotten for 5 weeks.

I would give ZERO stars if possible
I would give ZERO stars if possible. I bought a ticket through Chatdeals and called to discuss a small name change. I called over 10 times - speaking to numerous people. Never did I get a resolution. It is now 2-weeks until we fly and I am being told I have to cancel the ticket without a refund and rebuy a new one. They waited until it's so close to my fly date that the tickets now are so expensive. Horrible customer service. Never will I ever buy a ticket through this website again. Stay away!
The reply from chatdeal is completely false. I did buy another ticket when promoted to do so. I was never offered the opportunity for a refund. In fact, I was told the airline would not approve a refund after I had already purchased another ticket based on my multiple conversations with their representatives. I have two flights from chatdeal for the 31st. If you are going to respond at least do some research.

No change fee on British airways useless if you book via Chatdeal.
Booked a ticket on British airlines - the condition was no refunds but free change of tickets. However, chattel charges 100 to 200 per change per person + the flights offered have a larger difference per ticket than if you book new. If you cancel they charge 50 per person. They make it such that you have to cancel and rebook only. You are better off booking directly on the airlines to use the free change of tickets available there. Also I wanted to see if some of the people in the ticket can change the dates and the agent never got back.

Over the past 4 weeks chatdeal has…
Over the past 4 weeks chatdeal has cancelled one leg of my flight requiring me to get from JFK to Detroit on my own to catch the final flight of my trip. Both times I called and asked them to fix it. Both times it wasn’t accepted. They offered a refund via email. I accepted the refund and now they state they’ve never received the email and I reforwarded it and reiterated my wanting refund via phone call and they refused to say if or when I would get a refund. They will respond to this complaint (on trust pilot) that I’m not traveling in the next 72 hours so somehow that magically means I won’t get a refund right now (ie. Never will I get a refund unless the customer throws a holy fit). Don’t use chatdeal. Kayak execs should be ashamed for sourcing out and using such a sham group.
Your reply appears to be another stall tactic and smoke screen for those who read this review. Why did your employee by the name of “Brain” not tell me to do that yesterday???
After emailing the email
Below in the reply I receive and email
Stating they are refunding me. There is a link to click and look at the confirmation refund and it shows the whole itenerary I was originally scheduled for with pending confirmation from italia airways (who put me on hold and then disconnected my phone call when I told them what chatdeal was doing a week ago). There is no confirmation nor amount I’m getting refunding in the confirmation link. KAYAK WHERE ARE YOU AND WHO DID YOU HIRE?
Yes chatdeal’s final reply left out pertinent details to minimize the debacle. They offered a flight on a different day for the return. They never offered another flight on the day of initial return date. This type of thing never happened before when kayak was directly handling bookings. Shame on chatdeal AND kayak.

They cancelled my itinerary and kept money
They cancelled my itinerary and will not return 1000 dollars.
No valid reasoning and you cannot speak with anyone in authority and the call center personnel are unable to do anything other then to read from a script.
Customer service responded as below.
They are liars. They cancelled the reservation, not me.
I originally booked multi city reservations on Qatar Air and they changed it to round trip, not multi destination, on emirates.
They refused to revert the itinerary and then it was cancelled.
These are very bad people in my opinion

What a complete joke of an experience
What a complete joke of an experience. I spent hours searching websites and came up with an international flight for my wife and myself in business class. I reluctantly booked through kayak via this company. Chatdeal. Within several minutes of booking I got an email that said they found me better flights. They weren't. And they left at O'Dark 30. I quickly emailed back and said to cancel my reservation. Which was well within my rights. Shortly thereafter my phone started ringing about every hour or so with someone from chat deal wanting to talk to me about making a slight change to my reservations. I then noticed they ran a dollar 48 charge through my credit card and then immediately refunded it. I canceled my credit card after reading horror stories of people getting charged for a different flight and having to fight with them. I absolutely would not use this service.

I booked my sons and daughter in law…
I fui d out that chatdeal edited my previous negative evaluation and turned all the meaning in their favor now I’m convinced that they are a SCAM Do Not Use Them. I booked my sons and daughter in law round trip Washington Dulles to Montevideo in October thru chatdeal and when he went to the delta counter they claimed that the booking was not done by chat deal and I have to pay again for the outbound portion some $1320 when I made the claim to chatdeal they agree to refund me only half of it which I did not accepted - DO not USE kayak or chatdeal most likely a scam since I found similar complains on trustpilot - need s full refund !!

ChatDeal ruined my international trip
ChatDeal ruined an international trip for me. A flight was canceled and we were notified by ChatDeal that we needed to accept another itinerary. We did so in writing (on Jan 27th) and never heard back. Apparently, ChatDeal never followed through by confirming with the airline. We spoke with Asiana and they stated over the phone that they twice sent tickets for confirmation over to ChatDeal, and never heard back.
We ended up on the final day before we were supposed to leave without tickets. ChatDeal ever-promising to get us a confirmed itinerary and follow up in 24 hours, and almost never following through. We were always calling them back and finding out that we were yet unconfirmed. And, assuring us that another option was available which ultimately would not be. So, we had to take a refund on the last day as our only option. ChatDeal failed and we suffered.
ChatDeal sucks. Avoid them if you can. I wish there was a way to warn people away on Kayak but unfortunately, people will probably only learn how poorly reviewed this service is after they have already run afoul.
Oh, and the positive reviews on this site are probably spoofs by their employees. Many of them are single review users and are praising these fake names that the employees use: Leo (this one was a total a**hole to us on the phone), Candy (failed to acknowledge our written approval of the new itinerary), Homer (assured us we had a new itinerary and then failed to follow up to communicate that we in fact did not).

Money Taken
I purchased two tickets and travel insurance on Chatdeal. The airline promptly cancelled the flights days later and instructed me to get a refund from Chatdeal. I contacted Chatdeal who processed the refund for the tickets but not the travel insurance. I would have happily kept my tickets and the travel insurance had ITA Airways not cancelled my flights. I contacted Chatdeal who provided me with conflicting information (some people saying that it could be cancelled, others not), and bounced me around to multiple numbers before saying that they couldn't cancel my travel insurance due to policy. Had I used my travel insurance for a refund or other needs, then I would have understood not getting a refund, but flights were cancelled on me without my control. Basically $242.76 was just taken from me for no reason. It feels predatory. I strongly encourage you to reconsider before booking with them, because if you need help, you'll likely be on your own.

I can't believe that this company…
I can't believe that this company allied with Kayak, my former go-to for inexpensive flights.
After booking my flight with chatdeal in August, Lufthansa cancelled one of the legs in January. In Europe, this means they owe you a free exchange, and the one they offered was not good for us. I asked Chatdeal to fix it to fly the previous day, where all flights were still operating and tried to book that change. This was six days ago and I still don't have my tickets. Lufthansa will not honor the "confirmed" tickets they sent me. The people are polite (even when I am not) but incompetent. You never get the same person twice. They do not know how to do this. Truly awful experience. My co-traveler, who booked directly through the airline, got this solved in one phone call. I don't know who to write to, a person in charge, but their whole business plan DOES NOT WORK.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Booked a ticket for my 40th birthday from DUB-LHR-MIA. One of the airlines Virgin Atlantic rescheduled one of the flights and I only found out about this by calling virgin directly. Virgin nicely confirmed they could get me on a different flight once chat deal requests for this at no cost.
Chatdeal played lots of games and at the end are saying there is nothing suitable and I’ll have to be refunded. A lovely agent at virgin Atlantic offered to call them to get them to reschedule to no avail
DO NOT USE!!!!! Horrible horrible service

Don't do it
When you book a flight with this company they will bump you to different flights as the flight you booked becomes less desirable. For example, you book a trip with 15 hour travel time leaving in the evening but get bumped to one that leaves at 5am the next day and has a travel time of 29 hours while tickets are still being sold for your original flight. Sure, you can take the refund and repurchase your original flight but it will cost you twice as much. Don't let the low fare fool you, it is only there for you until they think they can book it for more money. Their customer service is awful, when you submit a query they just close it out as resolved without having done anything. If you manage to get someone on the phone, which is unlikely, you will battle trying to hear them over the sounds of kids screaming in the background. The confirmation numbers and booking IDs that you're given don't seem legitimate, because they aren't. Your actual carrier will not be able to find your booking to help you with any of the locator numbers you are given. Go direct to your airline to purchase tickets.
