Our first time

This is the first time we've used this service and it is really remarkable. You get the best of both worlds... web based fair checking and a real person to hold your hand through making your choices. I was helped by Raavi who was both helpful and incredibly patient.

Flight changed and was never contacted…

Flight changed and was never contacted about it. Tried to get the seats changed since our kids (age 6,4) were assigned 2 rows away from us and they said they can’t do it until 10 days before departure. Customer service is a joke. They need to revamp their operations plan. Highly recommend to STAY AWAY.

Found ticket in KAYAK

Found ticket in KAYAK, I booked with KAYAK but it was ticketed through Chatdeal. It was the worse deal! Don’t use this website.will never use it again!!
I found out that one leg (the last one of the return) flight was cancelled. Found out about cancellation by checking directly with airline. Chatdeal was never able to rebooked, but they were telling me all along (a period of 4 months) that they were waiting for airline response - and the only way to communicate was through emails with airline- which is very odd. Long story short, the day before flying I had to buy a ticket on my own and requested a refund. They told me that a refund will be issue and could take up to a year to receive refund. Will see if I get a refund. Can’t believe that KAYAK does business with Chatdeal. I thought that KAYAK was better than that.

Deceiving buyers

Bought 4 tickets to Denver - wanted 4 hold baggage - I believe I had requested this.
Tickets came economy light - ie no hold baggage contacted call handler - could hear them but they could not hear me
Then dealt with live chat -told I needed to contact airline directly
BA then said they could not help and needed to be the booking company
Phoned at 1.30 am by someone -was told someone would phone back in daytime hours - no one has
Cancelled tickets lost 160 pounds which I believe is chatdeal fault

Most stressful travel experience I've…

Most stressful travel experience I've ever had trying to get the original international itinerary I purchased nearly 4 months prior, and was never able to speak to a supervisor, and spoke to at least 6 "agents" in India over the course of 2 days. They did not help or resolve my issue, I had to show up to the aiport the day of travel and beg to be put on an earlier flight or I would miss my international connection. In summary, here were the issues:
1.) My itinerary seems to have changed in October (so the airline told me), but chatdeal never notified me. The itinerary change made it so my domestic flight landed after my international flight was taking off.
2.) When I discovered the itinerary change 2 days prior to departure, not one of the 6+ agents I spoke to were able to fix the itinerary. I repeatedly asked for a supervisor, they said "We will email one and they should reach out within 8hrs." They never did.
3.) After hours on the phone with airlines and chatdeal, no one could help me because Chatdeal was responsible to fix it and wouldn't. Then they offered me a "refund" the day before we were supposed to take the trip.
4.) The itinerary we ended up flying was a nightmare. The airport we flew into in Japan, and flew out of was different. We had to transfer via Tokyo trains with two toddlers and all our luggage. Absolute nightmare.
In summary, Chat deal is not a real travel agency. They take your money, they hang you out to dry, without even properly (and in accordance to laws) notifying you of itinerary changes. The one we booked was intended to be 22hours, it was 36 by the time we got across the world (with two toddlers). It was terrible and I would never, ever recommend booking with them.
Note: their response to me after this review was a $50 credit towards future purchases ahahahha, as if we would ever book with them again. Don’t do it!

Do not use - once you need help, it’s not happening

Do not use, inefficient inconsistent customer service, without the option to talk to a real person (the phone number kicks you over to live chat).

I’m on day 5 trying to rebook our flights due to a legal name change. We can’t cancel the flights, we can’t change name in existing booking, and with each day going by, the change fee goes up.

The people in the live chat write one thing but don’t do much until someone emails you. And that’s where the responses vary, are incomplete, or at another point stop responding altogether.

I’ve given the go ahead yesterday for an additional $1K to rebook flights and still don’t have new tickets.

This is the worst experience.

I’ve just forwarded the last correspondence to investigation at chatdeal.com, I don’t know what else I can do.

ticket paid for, but never issued by Chatdeal

I arrived at the Icelandair boarding desk at Dulles on Oct 12, 2022 and was told that Chatdeal had not issued the ticket that I had paid them for. Thus, in order to travel on the flight as planned, I had to purchase another ticket directly from Icelandair.

Chatdeal never responded to my refund request.

update: chatdeal posted a response to my review and claimed that a refund had been issued in May, 2022 -- this did not happen -- I was only able to get a refund in Dec 2022 by working through my bank

AVOID CHATDEAL

I am sure all the good reviews for Chatdeal on this site are written by Chatdeal bots. DO NOT TRUST CHATDEAL.

This is the worst third party booking site I have ever used. Read other reviews and see for yourself.

Not only do they not respect the 24-hour rule of flight cancellation, but in my case, they also charged me MORE than the actual ticket costed. I went through Kayak, chose checked bags, at the end of the whole process, they did not include the bags but charged me as if they had included them. In my invoice, they only stated the prize of the ticket and the fees, which were crazy (way more than they appeared on the AA actual ticket invoice). When I contacted them ––this would be another story: forget talking to someone on the phone and count yourself lucky if you get to chat with a person–– to ask for the details and get this solved, they told me some BS for over two weeks about how they were looking into it. I insisted and in the end, after a lot of time sent, they said they could not provide me with the details of my invoice and that I wouldn't be refunded.
PLEASE DO NOT USE CHATDEAL.

Ps. Whatever some bot responds to my review, well, it will be the same BS I have gotten so far. They have had my information all along and have done nothing about it.

Chatdeal is a rip-off

Chatdeal is a rip-off. My flight was postponed then canceled. Chatdeal refused to reschedule. Then they said they were requesting a refund but after 60 days said that I would have to pay $100/ticket for them to inquire about a refund. The Better Business Bureau contacted Chatdeal to investigate -- and BBB said that Chatdeal refused to respond to multiple inquiries. DO NOT USE CHATDEAL.

This company runs a bait and switch…

This company runs a bait and switch operation.

I initiated a booking with Chatdeal on October 30, 2022 (booking # J4fece5). I received an email at 8:52 PM on Oct 30th from Maggie at Chatdeal regarding a change in fee, asking if I would like to proceed with the booking:

“Hye,

I hope you are doing well.

This is regarding your booking with Raavi, There are delay charges included - 50$ per the policies. Shall we go ahead and charge your card for the booking?

Please advice us about the same via chat/mail, so that we can proceed with other processes.”

I became concerned that this was a bit of a scam, in part due to misspellings in the email, as well as because this seemed like a bait and switch. Thus, I sent an email response at 9:14 PM on Oct 30th stating:

“No thank you. This is no longer the cheapest option with the fee. You can cancel the booking.”

I thus ASSUMED (as any reasonable person would) THIS BOOKING WAS NOT PROCESSED, ASTHEY DID NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO PROCEEED. I never received an email back from the company to alert me that my original booking wasn’t cancelled. I then proceeded to book the travel on October 31st on another website, gurufare. Apparently, however, gurufare and chatdeal ARE THE SAME PARENT COMPANY. I now have 2 bookings for the same travel and both chatdeal and gurufare (TRAVEL OUTLET). I only discovered the original booking was processed when I found the duplicate charge on my credit card.

I am told I can't cancel the chatdeal booking because they have a "no cancellation policy" that was in effect when I clicked book (and that their subsequent email did not void that commitment). If I cancel my gurufare booking instead, I will be charged >$1300 in fees ($900 in airline and $400 in agency fees) per their cancellation policies.

I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and the federal trade commission. THESE ARE SHAM OPERATIONS.

CUSTOMER SERVICE VERY LACKING

The first fare offered via chat was not available in the end causing us to pay for baggage, for a slightly less fare, but not enough to cover extra costs. Now, I've seen a schedule change on the airlines site for over a week. Which I hav yet to be informed of from ChatDeal. Now, a week ago I reached out to them regarding the change. Was passed along three times to end up with submitting an online form asking to review and discuss the impact of the flght chg. And not a response yet. Attempted to email original agent, that bounced. And other attempts to email Customer Service. All emails bounced. Service is difficult and lacking.

Absolute garbage. Inexistent customer service, very inflexible to change flights even when options are available. Tickets may look decently priced but be ready for a nightmarish experience

Problems, then a refund

I bought a plane ticket with Chatdeal through kayak.com. The day before the trip my flight got cancelled. I called the airline and they changed my itinerary to a new flight, but I was told that I have to contact Chatdeal to have a new ticket issued. Chatdeal charges $50 to for such changes, even in the case of a flight cancellation. However, it was not even possible to pay them and get a new ticket. I called them and spent 3.5 hours on hold before giving up. They also advertise that one can contact them via text chat, but the chat does not work. I bought a new ticket directly from an airline to avoid the displeasure of dealing with Chatdeal anymore. It was an expensive lesson on what to avoid.

Update: Soon after writing this review I was contacted by Chatdeal and I was offered a full refund of the ticket price. The refund was processed promptly, it showed on my credit card statement within a week. I still incurred the cost of buying a new ticket (at a higher price, since it was a last-minute purchase) and the frustration of not being able to change my original ticket when I needed to do it. However, I appreciate that the refund was issued quickly and without any further difficulties.

CHATDEAL Is BAD DEAL !!!!

CHATDEAL IS BAD DEAL !!!!

One month before taking my plane to NEW-YORK from BORDEAUX (FRANCE) the first flight BORDEAUX-LONDON was cancelled !!!! after severals answers no response !!! Nothing, Nada, Rien.... So what can i do ? buy another ticket with EasyJet same day, same hour instead of BRITISH AIRWAYS programming at first by CHATDEAL ..... Is cost me 200euros for 3 persons, so 6 hundred euros !!! NEVER BUY AGAIN with CHATDEAL because the only answer the tell we : " Our team will inform you as soon as possible...." Thank you Kerry for doing nothing !
