had a very bad experience with Afia. She pulled my hair very badly and kept making comments about my hair just because I was 20 minutes late. There was no need to behave this way.e. It felt like all she wanted to finish quickly and go home early, and she took her frustration out on me.
She made me feel extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. This is not how a client should ever be treated. I will never go back to this salon and do not recommend it to anyone.

Worst Haircut
Prior to my appointment, my hair was quite long - well past my shoulders and collarbones. My main concern was that the front sections were noticeably shorter than the rest due to heat damage. I specifically asked for a good chop to just above my shoulders to remove the damaged ends and have my hair cut to one uniform length, with only subtle layers.
Unfortunately, I left the salon with my hair barely past my chin. I was not asked if I was comfortable going that short, nor was the length adjusted gradually - it was cut directly to that length. While I requested subtle layers, I now have layers that are shorter than the top of my ears. Additionally, the front pieces of my hair are significantly shorter than the rest, which was the exact issue I had hoped to correct.
I was too uncomfortable to express my disappointment at the time, as the cut had already been done. However, I have been extremely upset for the past 24 hours. I walked into the salon with clear expectations - hair just above my shoulders, all one length, and subtle layers, and I left with none of those expectations met. This haircut has completely shaken my confidence and is, without question, the worst haircut I have ever received.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Spent $150 to have my roots touched up, which got butched. Went back to have them fix it, and it came out WORSE then before, and they refused to fix it a 2nd time, along with refusing a refund. I then, had to spend $350 somewhere else to have it fixed. This isn’t the first, or 2nd time I’ve had issues with this place. I would highly NOT recommend it to anyone! I also heard a lady complain about how a hair dresser botched her daughter’s hair… this place is horrendous. They need better stylists OR manager who will be of use to the customers.

I received a gift card to Mayfair and had wanted to treat myself to a new do. I booked last minute and ended up with Stephanie. It had been two years since I last had my hair highlighted.
I let Stephanie pick the colour. She chose Gold Shimmer which was absolutely perfect. Her sparkly personality, knowledge of product, efficiency of her craft ( trade) made my while experience fantastic.

Sooooo I went to Chatters in the mall today and I told the stylist about 10 plus times what I couldn't and couldn't afford. I get to the till and it is only at that moment she informs me that I am going to be paying an ADDITIONAL $100 dollars! This will be the VERY last time that I EVER go to this salon!!!

Went in for a simple haircut, asked the stylist to cut my hair to around jaw length, stylist wouldnt do it. Insisted "but it would be so...short." after asking her to cut to requested length a few times and her still not, I gave up. This place isnt very nice if youre unconventional or alternative. The cut was overpriced and bad quality, the stylist left lots of blunt cuts and odd pieces. The only redeeming factor is that they have a free coffee/snack bar. If you want to pay 55 dollars for a bad haircut, blunt ends, and have to argue with the stylist about YOUR hair, then this is the place. Ive gotten my hair cut here a few times, NEVER had a decent experience. If you want a decent haircut, go support a local business.
Absolutely amazing experience
Absolutely amazing experience! I booked with Bryan Ruiz which was the only stylist who truly had the patience and skill to work with my thick hair. On top of that, they were so fun to work with and made me feel completely comfortable the entire time. I never felt rushed, and the end result was beautiful. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Bad first hair appointment in YQL
Very excited for my hair appointment today, which started at 3:15 PM. After work, i went straight to Chatters Park Place Mall. I showed a clear reference photo of a medium-length layered haircut and explained that I usually DIY-cut my hair straight because the length gives me headaches. I specifically asked for layers and a U-shaped back.
After the initial cut, she showed me the back of my hair, but I honestly didn’t see any difference. it was still a straight, blunt line, similar to how I cut my own hair. I showed the reference photo again and explained that it should be layered, with a U shape, and also mentioned curtain bangs and face-framing layers, which she had acknowledged earlier.
She cut my hair again, but I still couldn’t see any noticeable change. At that point, I wasn’t sure if she was just trimming it straighter or only cutting the very back portion. I asked once more and showed the photo again. This time, she cut it into a V shape, but didn’t show me the back anymore and proceeded straight to blow-dry my hair.
In the end, it was a simple V-cut, not layered at all. just a plain cut that honestly anyone (even a friend) could do. For my first salon haircut experience in Lethbridge, paying $56, it really wasn’t worth it. Its a very simple cut and I dont know what she cant understand with what I wanted eve with photos already. I left feeling very disappointed, especially since I was very clear and consistent with what I wanted.

Horrible customer service for online orders
I ordered products online to be delivered to my home. Other skin and hair care companies ensure if you order online and you arent home to recieve they return it to post office where it wont freeze until you pick up. Instead, chatters has no instructions on this so they delivered it to an outside box. The products are freezing. I reached out asking how this could be avoided and they said their products arent affected by freezing, yet google search disagrees. The quality of product can be hurt. I asked if I have any issues with them if I can return, she said yes but I pay for shipping back? Although I asked for reassurance as to how they claim their products are freeze resistant she offered no explanation and ended the conversation. Her name was Stacey B and she claims she is a customer service manager. Horrible customer service! Ive purchased all my hair products from them for over a decade and they cant even answer a question in any detail to reassure the customer and if you need to return anything its out of your pocket. I order a lot online and never ever have I had such pathetic customer service. Also when you call them the voicemail says leave a message and someone will call back. I get a text and a claim that they dont all have access to outgoing calls, like the manager doesnt?? What a joke. Not impressed. They've lost a customer of over a decade because of absolutely appalling customer service. I will find another vendor with an ounce of customer service. They are a zero effort company and the customer doesn't matter nor do their concerns. You'd think they would have a basic link they could provide to state why their products are still perfect quality after freezing. But no. Just a "we have nothing left to offer bye"
