BE AWARE – CheapFlight is hosting SCAMMERS!!

I found a good deal for Virgin via a search on CheapFlight.co.uk for £767. I booked and paid for the flight and 10mins later, got a call from a lady with a thick Indian accent on 02081353361 informing me that I had paid for a promotional ticket and Virgin was not willing to process the confirmation. There was no indication that it was a promotional ticket at the time of booking and paying for it. I was requested to pay an additional £132.00 to get a new flight. I declined and requested for a refund. They came back to say that the refund could take 3 to 4 weeks for the amount to be credited back to my original form of payment.
The implication is that I’ll have to wait 3-4weeks to get a refund which will enable me to book a replacement flight at a higher cost as we move towards the summer peak period!!! This is a scam!!!

I have used Cheapflight.co.uk for many years without any issue, however I cannot understand why CheapFlight aggregates data from cowboys like EaseMyTrip that CANNOT UPHOLD the advertised flight prices on their price comparison website? Are they not aware of the risk of such scammers to the CheapFlight brand value?
Reading some of the EaseMyTrip feedback here on TrustPilot, it is obvious that this is becoming a pattern for the company to trick people into parting with their money and then request for additional fee because they could not uphold the flight prices aggregated by CheapFlight.

A fraud online agency

I feel compelled to share my recent encounter with “Cheapflyshop” to caution fellow air ticket buyers about potential pitfalls that may await them. Unfortunately, my booking experience with them didn't unfold as smoothly as anticipated, and it's vital to illuminate these issues.

Right from the start, I faced delays in receiving my tickets. To compound matters, the vendor's webpage lacks a tracking feature for booking confirmation, leaving customers, like myself, uncertain about the status of our reservations.

The turning point in my experience occurred when I discovered an undisclosed catch: the seemingly attractive price I initially agreed to applied exclusively to hand/cabin luggage. This critical information was conspicuously absent during the booking process, leading to an unexpected and unwelcome surprise. It appears that “Cheapflyshop”s primary strategy is to entice customers with appealing prices, only to reveal additional charges later on.

In the midst of a challenging time, dealing with the loss of my mother, I initially saw their pricing as a good deal, only to feel trapped when they demanded more money. Unfortunately, it seems that this might be a common practice for them to secure additional funds from unsuspecting customers.

What's even more concerning is that many people, especially those in desperate need, might overlook the fine print and end up paying more than anticipated. Some have taken a stand against these practices, seeking refunds and disputing credit card transactions. This serves as a stark warning to potential buyers: thoroughly review the terms and conditions before committing to any purchase.

Adding to the dismay, their support staff over the phone was condescending, pressuring me to pay the extra amount for a confirmed ticket immediately. I obviously refused, as it was a no-brainer to dispute the transaction and book through another online booking agency.

It's disheartening to realize that some businesses prioritize extracting money over providing transparent and fair services. As you consider your air travel options, take heed of cautionary tales like mine and be vigilant in protecting yourself from hidden charges and potential inconveniences.

For additional insights and perspectives, I recommend checking out the reviews on Google for “Cheapflyshop”.
