FOOD POISONING & 20 SPOONS OF SUGAR equivalent in Fructose

FOOD POISONING! OLD DMGD PRODUCT W/O PACKING OR MARKING! NO REFUNDS! here is a request I sent and received NO refund NO apology! thats in ADDITION to 10 spoons of SUGAR in each snack (Classic Grape: 17 g sugar per half-piece = 34 g per piece = about 8.5 teaspoons

WOULD ANYONE IN RIGHT STATE OF MIND EAT 9 SPOONS OF SUGAR equivalent Fructose(Since nutrition panel is listed per 1/2 piece (40 g), so one full piece is roughly double that amount: 80gr 4 grams of sugar = about 1 teaspoon, a single piece can easily land in the 20 teaspoon range depending on flavor. WHo would eat this in right state of mind?) yet brand pretends there is no sugar - well FRUCTOSE IS WORSE than sugar it goes straight to fat!

regarding my 2 recent orders of CHELLA products, which I received after an unusually long ground shipping period of approximately three weeks. Even the order I ordered for my adult kids and gifts to Utah arriving much sooner arrived so DRY and CRACKED, that my former Sis in Law where I shipped - Linnea - declined eating them citing being too hard to cut or eat and tasting unpleasant. Thank God, My adult kids just got product picked up from my former sis in law.. now she may wonder if I was trying to poison her.. I sent them a message to NOT eat.

My product also looked ABNORMAL, dry, each piece broken - string impossible to pull out as product hardened (unless u manipulate with instruments)

and I got FOOD POISONING shortly after eating the product - pomegranate and apple juice based?

I have serious concerns about the condition, safety, and handling of these products:

The items arrived in unsealed paper bags, not vacuum-sealed or otherwise protected. Photos Enclosed.

The contents appeared very dry, damaged, and crushed, suggesting improper storage and handling.

Given your recent relocation from Canada to Colorado, I am concerned these may have been old or improperly stored inventory.

The ingredients (string, flour, fruit, nuts) are highly susceptible to mold, spoilage, and bacterial contamination, especially without proper sealing and temperature control (and there was NO temp control expectation on ground USPS 3 week shipment - unsure if there was temp control from Canada to Colorado..)

String visible in photos missing traditional coating to protect from bacteria getting inside the product from string, air. photos showing MISSING coating of fibers

Packaging inappropriate/ unsafe for long distance shipping (missing coating of string, missing vacuum plastic protection over even a set of products,

NO date of production, NO storage instruction No best by date - that seems inconsistent to USA Food and Safety Standards

Most importantly, since consuming these products, I have experienced severe and ongoing symptoms which lasted past four days, including:

Persistent diarrhea

SEVERE Abdominal pain

Extreme nausea

Overwhelming fatigue

Light Fever

INABILITY to eat for 3 days - feeling toxicity when I tried, more nausea

no food caused weakness & tachycardia I could not work or get out of home

I was so sick I sent messages to warn my kids and family of product contamination

These symptoms are consistent with foodborne illness, and the timing strongly implicates your product. Could it have been another product? unlikely - I eat very LITTLE, only self-cooked meals, check food freshness and did not deviate from usual diet.

I do have the boxes you shipped to hawaii and if u would like them shipped back pls let me know by Monday and provide a label as space is very little in my hawaii residence and I would rather dispose of the dangerous product vs keep it in my very small space.

Terrible service

Terrible service. They never mentioned about tariffs and I have to pay $86 for my order which I did in August 2025. They were telling me not to pay extra charges because they would take care of it but they never did. In January 2026 UPS has sent a debt collecting service to get the payment. It is very frustrating!

Horrible customer service; Stay away

Horrible customer service! I am in the US and after seeing an add on Instagram ordered in August $89 worth of products and it’s now December and my request for a refund is still not honored. First they took forever to ship and around October I am notified of $124 bill on top of my $89 due to customs and tariffs charges. First this was not disclosed at purchase and looks like horrendous mistake by Chella company of misclassifying imports items. I refused to accept and requested a refund which I am still waiting. Save yourself some case and aggravation. Stay away!

Good product. Poor customer service.

I have ordered from this company many times. Classic "braid" Churchella seems to be of a good quality and tastes very good (especially grape variety). Keep in mind - NOT all chella snacks are sugar free.
Sad to say, but I will not order again from this company.
My last order was lost and I contacted the company a month later. They replied in a week or two asking to wait and it would show up.... 2 months have past without any tracking updates.
I had to go through my credit card company and get the money back.
Good product, but a very poor customer service.

not a reputable company

I made an error in not reviewing the company before placing an order. It has been months. They charged my card but never shipped and have not refunded my money. I have been in contact with the company- they are slow to respond and fairly unprofessional in the response. PLEASE PROTECT YOUR MONEY TIME AND SANITY- don’t order from this company.

Terrible Experience

Terrible Experience – Hidden Fees and No Customer Support

If I could give zero stars, I would! This company is completely unprofessional and misleading.

For U.S. customers: be warned — you will be charged for shipping and customs fees even though the company clearly states “free shipping for orders over $99.” I placed my order and waited for a month without any updates. When I finally reached out, they told me there were “fulfillment issues,” so I decided to wait patiently for another two weeks.

When the order finally arrived, I thought the trouble was over. But two weeks later, I received a $50 bill from UPS for customs fees! I immediately contacted Chella, but they have ignored all of my messages and made no effort to resolve the issue.

As a Georgian, I am deeply disappointed and ashamed to see such poor business practices coming from this company. I will never order from them again and strongly advise others to stay away.

Misleading, poor customer service

Ordered, got an email 4 days later that it had been been delayed.

I replied to ask if there was an ETA, as it was time sensitive (gift). They replied to say that it had been out of stock, was now in stock, and that my order was currently being packed.

5 days later, I still had no shipping notice, so I emailed back and was told that it still hadn't shipped.

I said that if I wouldn't receive it by the following week (totally doable if they were planning to ship soon!), I'd like a refund.

They cancelled, and sent me an email saying that IF a refund was applicable, it would be posted to my original card.

The whole thing ended up feeling incredibly sketchy.

I've still been getting a ton of Facebook ads pushed to me, and it seems I'm not alone in dealing with really poor customer service and shipping issues.

As a heads up to anyone interested, one of the other comments asked "why did this ship from China?", which I was shocked to see. I guess that could explain the sketchiness with shipping.

All around, really poor experience.

Order never got shipped after payment

I was bombarded by their commercials on Social Media and thought will give them a try for Lunar New Year. When I made the payment, it clearly states on the web it takes 3-7 business days for deliver. I patiently waited for a week and no update on the shipment!! As LNY has started (without my sweets), I e-mailed them to check the status and got the response from a bot. So I got suspicious (after all, it's just an ad on social media) and asked for a refund. Someone named "Daniel" just replied "Order cancelled with refund". With no explanation and no apology, they basically kept my money for a week?? Like hello, is this how you manage your business?? Are you hoping for me to forget about my order and just take the money and run??
