I enjoyed the cruise overall. A few things that made it less than perfect was the smell…the lower air conditioned cabin smelled like a sewer. The upper level was nice but there was limited seating,... See more

Our NEW YORK CITY dinner cruise was awesome…. Excellent service, live music, great dinner, and the View/cruise to see Ststute of Liberty, city skyline lights… was PERFECT for our Anniversary celebration!! Do not pass this up…
The boat was quite comfortable and the water spray that doused some of us on the outbound trip to Alcatraz was fun. And the sunset over SF Bay on the return trip to the city was spectacular!
We used City Cruises on a recent trip to Niagara. Very well organized, and the commentary near the falls was very informative and made the trip even more interesting. I would recommend and use City Cruises again
The fireworks were great, the food was decent, and the boat itself was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the poor service completely overshadowed what could have been a great experience.
We paid a premium price for this dinner cruise, yet the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. After we were seated, we rarely saw our server. It took nearly an hour and a half to receive our first alcoholic drink, and with only one bartender serving roughly 100 guests, getting another drink was nearly impossible. We also never received a refill on our water despite temperatures over 100 degrees.
To make matters worse, everyone was required to purchase drink coupons, even though two of our guests were under 21, leaving my husband and me with far more coupons than we could realistically use because service was so slow.
As someone who owns and operates a sports bar, I know staffing can make or break a guest experience. The biggest issue wasn't the boat or the food, it was a disengaged, inattentive staff that left guests feeling ignored. With better hiring, training, and adequate staffing, this cruise could have been an excellent experience. Instead, the service was a major disappointment. Location: Norfolk, Va
On our long-awaited Tall Ships Brunch Cruise and paid extra for a drink package and the main bar where the liquor is kept is locked AND THEY DONT HAVE A KEY! What?! My bartender boyfriend also says that the vodka that they do have has been watered down. And I paid over $400 for this cruise for 2 people! I don’t recommend paying extra for anything and recommend finding another cruise line.
The whole experience was great from the reservations made to boarding the food the service and the whole cruise.i would do it again with different set of friends for them to experience what we did. Thank u thank you. Just fabulous..
stops were all too far away from every place we wanted to go
False adverting. The cruise was advertised as: New Jersey July 3rd Parade of Historic Ships Signature Afternoon Lunch. "...this one is sure to be spectacular as historic ships and military vessels from around the world triumphantly stream into New York Harbor. Join us aboard our New Jersey Signature Afternoon Lunch Cruise and witness this unmatched spectacle up-close for this once-in-a-generation celebration."
NO HISTORIC SHIPS!!! The boat simply circled Battery Park. Did not go to Intrepid, did not go up East River. Just Battery Park for 1 1/2 hours. No notice in advance or on the ship of the change. Premium price for the special event with NO Special Event!!
The organization allows full refund if canceled within 2 hours of the event. If I was told the route changed and no historic ships I would have canceled. I didn't realize we were not going to East River until the waitress brought our check and said we are disembarking soon. I feel duped and swindled. I was misled of false advertising. I have been on several spirit of NJ events. NEVER AGAIN. Don't be duped by this organizations false promises.
They really go the distance to make the cruises eventful with music, food, decorations, and perfected routes.
Afternoon cruise Friday, July 3. Scam marketing on their website. The trip was to feature viewing of tall ships parade. Nope. Didn’t happen. Nary a tall ship in sight. They moved the boarding time to 15 minutes earlier and then boarded later than the original boarding time. Heat index 115F. Actual temperature 102F. Waiting in line to board in extreme heat with no shade cover. The Class B Tall ship parade was in the East River today, not the Hudson River. How is it that the captain of this vessel didn’t know that? Or the captain did know, and the vessel did not obtain a permit to travel on the East River today? Food was Ok, servers were good; otherwise I’d have rated it a 1 star.
Waiting in 90(+) degree heat to get on & they made you get rid of water bottle. The dinner part of the cruise was awful. The food table has 2 sides with identical offerings so the line goes faster. One side ran out of food so that had everyone go on the other. It was out in just a minute or so. Water, tea or lemonade was to be served with dinner. They ran out of tea & lemonade before serving even started. There was an adult birthday party on board and the kids were running around screaming so loud it was hard to have a conversation. DO NOT RECOMMEND \.
Absolute horrible experience. Poor staff, time management, and communication. First told last ride at 6pm then when we went mind you we came at 5pm. Arrived 5:30 and told next at 6:30, cam half hour early told not till 40, and boat did not arrive till 6:50 and a lady even had a medical emergency and had a lady screaming for help and they just looked at her and didn’t do anything untill was holding up the line as they had to hold the person up. View was not worth the wait.
Hello, we bought the tickets a few days before departure and the day before we received an email saying that we couldn't visit the prison due to renovations; instead, they gave us the option of a cruise around the area. The experience was not what we expected, very disappointed by the situation.
My experience was great I’ll recommend anyone to experience this lovely cruise.
I felt like the boat was too packed with people. I didn't even feel safe. I looked for life jackets and definetely we didn't have enough for all the people on board. It is a good thing that we didn't need them or I could be dead!
We had an amazing experience on this cruise! Seeing the New York City skyline from the water was absolutely breathtaking and gave us a completely different perspective of the city. The views of the Statue of Liberty, the bridges, and the Manhattan skyline were unforgettable.
The boat was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and professional, and the entire tour was well organized. I highly recommend this cruise to both visitors and locals looking to experience New York from a unique point of view. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Thrilling Experience of Voyage to the Falls boat ride
First, the experience was not great; second, it is positive that the company offers cruise brunches, particularly for those who can afford it; and lastly, when you book a cruise brunch with citycruises, don't select the upper deck if you think you'll need a bathroom; there is only one on the lower deck, and when you must go, that's terribly inconvenient.
Generally excellent,all members (29) agreed.
A small complaint was that we could only have the food ordered which was ok,but some would have liked to add mushy peas as an aftrethought,
