Bike Fit Review – CJ Cycles (14th August 2025)

Had a bike fit with Chris at CJ Cycles and couldn’t be happier with the experience. He was incredibly professional, thorough, and easy to talk to throughout the session. Everything he did was clearly explained in simple, understandable terms, which made the whole process feel relaxed and informative.

Chris asked all the right questions and even offered advice on a shin splints issue I’d been dealing with from cycling. His attention to detail was spot on—not just with the fit itself, but also with general cycling tips and bike advice that went beyond expectations.

The results speak for themselves: my riding position feels so much better now, especially the cleat setup, and I’m genuinely enjoying cycling more than ever. Highly recommend Chris and CJ Cycles if you're looking for a proper fit done by someone who knows their stuff and takes the time to get it right.

Great price. Quick delivery and good advice when had doubt about size. Newcastle branch wasn’t helpful when called then to ask their advice. Cramlington branch (Brian) was very helpful. Bike is great and assembly needed was minimal. Great communication via email. Would use again if needed and would recommend.

I have recently got into cycling and after picking the equipment and gear I want I started to look online for deals and who's cheapest but still has great reviews and trusted. I've ordered 2 items so far and I will be ordering more. They was the only company I could a) find the helmet in the colour I wanted and biggest bonus I nearly spent £50 on the helmet when I found this place had the 1 for £39... And other items seem really well priced. Everything has come through DPD so again a really trusted courier. 100% recommend. Also helps a small company, not a big franchise

Recently bought a Giant Road Bike from Chris and his team to peruse cross training for marathon running with a future view to do triathlon. CJ Performance Cycles shared very clear and obvious expertise in helping me choose the right bike, giving me multiple options at both ends of my price range.

Upon selecting my bike, it was in store and built less than a week later, where I made use of their bike fit service. With no stone left unturned, I left the store with my bike fitted specifically to my frame with the promise of post purchase support which I’ve since received with quick response.

Would recommend Chris and his team at CJ Performance Cycles to anybody.

Had a bike fit carried out at Cramlington shop, the fitting service and follow up information was fantastic, have been on 50+ mile since fitting and found bike and ride more comfortable, would recommend this service if you are looking to have one carried out.

Just back from having Chris adjust my new bike seat for me. I have had bike fits carried out by Chris previously, but suffering the perineum deadness on my longer rides it was time to swap the OE saddle out for a (for me) proven comfort saddle with a gap to ease the pressure, I hadn’t self fitted it as per previous measurements (slightly longer nose). Contacted Chris and not only was the saddle sorted but as a bonus my headset was tightened as well.
Always recommend a good service, and this is a great service.

I booked my 2-year-old bike in for some TLC and a silver service, I knew that the rear hub was on its way out and I had a really excellent discussion with the workshop. They gave me lots of options and price points and I decided to dig in and replace the whole wheelset, as I use my bike regularly. I dropped my bike off yesterday and was more than happy to get it back before the bank holiday weekend. The guys in the workshop went above and beyond and said as they had all the parts on site they were happy to try and push this through, which they did with absolute efficiency. My bike is now better than when I bought it from CJ cycles 2 years ago and I am not disappointed in my choice of wheel set. The guys in the shop are absolutely brilliant and they always take time to talk to you about your cycling needs and offer really sensible parts and upgrades to suit budgets. Some other bike shops not too far away will always offer you the very high end top end equipment that I simply don't need. Being out on a test run today and the bike is absolutely 100% silky smooth and the wheels are absolutely fantastic. Thanks guys, I'll be back soon

I ordered a Wahoo Roam V2 and within 48 hrs I received the item by courier. The price was very competitive, communication by the seller and courier were excellent.
I have yet to use the item during a ride but it paired up and configured easily.

Took my new e bike in this morning for its first 6 week check up, the tall guy in the workshop (apologise I did not get his name) had it sorted in no time adjusting the gears ect, no hassle very polite and informative, would recommend these guys no problem,

Hellow, this is the first time I have purchased an item from this company, I haven’t met the staff as this was an online purchase of a mountain bike for my 10 year old grandson. found the bike I liked online, which was available at many cycle shops but CJ cycles had the best price by far and nicer color than blue or red. Put it in the basket, paid for it, day and half later it’s here. You can’t fault that can ya. I live in the northeast and now imm aware of them I’ll be popping in to have look round. ps bike arrived in a very sturdy bike box but haven’t open it yet the grandkids are here all weekend so I’ll do it later , don’t think for one second there be any problems .

Purchased a bike after a nearly two hours of dialogue with Brian. What a really informative and patient gentleman. That was followed up six weeks later by a bike fit from Chris who is a font of knowledge and most helpful in determining how to adapt/tweak my riding position. Slight adjustments to cleat and seat position have made a significant impact on reducing numbness on my left forefoot. Each change was carefully explained and possible additional changes to pedals and shoes were detailed. A most informative and helpful experience
