That is the worst company I’ve ever had…

That is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. They closed my account without notifying me, sent me to collections, and made me return the machine. I was only with them for about three months, and on top of that, they were charging random amounts from my account $20, $10, $15 with no clear reason. Even after I returned the machine, my account remained active, and they still charged me for it. It has been a terrible experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

My company is going out of business and…

My company is going out of business and they are still charging me for the lease. There is no small print anywhere that covers you for financial hardship. I told them it won't be in use and they said I can do a buyout of the lease for 2k when I only have about a year left on the lease. I then asked for a pause on payments for us to get back up on our feet until we reopen elsewhere and they said NO. Do not sign up with them, they are complete scammers. Square and Toast lets you terminate without penalty if your shop closes.

Nothing but a constant money grab

Nothing but a constant money grab! Fees rise almost immediately for “business growth”. They constantly create device issues to force you into new equipment. You’ll start noticing that at the 3 year mark. They’ll tell you if you don’t upgrade your equipment then they will stop security monitoring then charge you a higher monthly fee just because you don’t buy a new device. Now they are saying “a sensor has been tampered with” on our other device and turned off all credit card payments and said we need to purchase a new device. If we turn the payment processing back on then we’re not P2PE compliant. Horrible company. They’re monthly and credit card processing fees are ridiculous! HATE we ever listen to their bs.

OVERCHARGE. Don't go with Clover

I would not recommend going with Clover. I was shocked by how much they were charging in settlement fees, as the costs were much higher than I expected. After just one week of using the service, I decided to stop and returned the EFTPOS machine due to the excessive charges.

CLOVER & FISERV. Pick up your game!

This new Clover eftpos machine and company really need to review the current status! I had a customer come to the door tap his card on the new machine and it just said processing then nothing. So, no money, just had to turn off and try again.... nothing! I have already had over 15+ phone calls over how bad these new machine are especially for small business, some credit cards do not work via phone orders yet the old Fiserv. machines accepted the cards no worries, now I am using my gateway to process as the machine does not accept. Clover don't apologise, they just assume the merchant does not know what their doing. Seriously I have been in business for over 30 years and this eftpos machine would have to be the very worst to date! DO BETTER CLOVER & FISERV. Recieved this machine in November last year.... the WORST!!!

Clover's risk department closed our…

Clover's risk department closed our merchant account with clover, and put our $8000 funds on hold. Spring 2025. Up until this day 2/30/2026 we cannot release our funds. Their customer service is trash or they are doing it on porpoise not to release our money.
Please find other merchants out there to deal with, especially if you want your funds to be released to you in case of closure. Be careful with Clover Merchant. They will scam you into oblivion

Run! And run fast!! I wish I had done more research!

When I was opening my business bank account, the bank recommended Clover and I didn’t think twice about it. Huge mistake!!!

Months later, I started digging into my statements and realized there were so many hidden fees they never mentioned. It ended up being way more expensive than what they initially quoted.

To make it worse, their customer service is horrible. It’s almost impossible to get a clear answer because of the language barrier, and they can’t even explain where the fees are coming from.

My support tickets just sit there for weeks with zero updates.

I finally switched to Biyo POS and it’s a night-and-day difference—everything is clear, with no hidden add-ons.

Save yourself the stress and stay away from Clover!

Be Ready for Loses and stress

I signed up for a working that continues in progress. If you have a degree in software that will help. They have to many divisions in one single company. It may take 30 days to even get your head out the cloud. I could go on and on. Save your self...over charges headed your way. Customer service is a joke.

Run!!!! Do not use CLOVER!!

Anyone, and i mean ANYONE thinking of using this platform in your business be WARNED!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have hidden fees. They would charge my acct .75 cents and because I would use controls so that transactions would not clear They started charging my account $175.00 for the .75 cent charge. I had to call so many times asking about this charge and most of the time the service rep would scold me telling me how to manage my money by saying to just make sure that I dont turn off my card, or offering advice that I didnt ask for. I know it is really hard to offer you the reveiw reader all of my ba4d experiences so that I can help you not have any, all I can say is save yourself the headache and use another p.o.s. platform. Horrible experience, horrible customer service, they stole hundreds from me maybe even thousands. Seriously if you like working for urcself

It is a very easy service to use

It is a very easy service to use. The only thing I don't understand and my customers also don't understand. Is when the charge doesn't go through. There is never an explanation and it does make it difficult to explain to my clients.

Thank you for the 5-stars and for being a Clover Merchant!

We understand your confusion with charges failing to go through. This is frequently explained by insufficient funds in a customer's account, exceeding credit limits, or fraud detection.

Extremely disappointed. We are actively exploring alternative processors.

Clover has been an absolute nightmare to deal with.

On 2/2/26, we processed a legitimate customer transaction for $205,838.34. Two days later, we were contacted by Risk Monitoring asking for additional documentation. We responded within 45 minutes and provided everything requested — detailed explanations, bank statements, and full transaction support.

Since then? Nothing.

No funds. No timeline. No meaningful updates.

We process approximately $1,500,000 annually through Clover, yet when a major transaction is flagged, there is zero urgency, zero communication, and zero accountability. I have spent hours on the phone with multiple agents who are completely powerless and unable to provide any useful information. Supervisors provide no answers. Promised callbacks never happen. Every conversation ends with “there’s no update.”

Holding over $200,000 of a business’s money without communication or resolution is unacceptable. The lack of transparency and the inability to speak with anyone who has decision-making authority is beyond frustrating — it’s irresponsible.

If you are a business owner that depends on cash flow, understand this: Clover can freeze your funds at any time, provide no timeline, and leave you in limbo while your business absorbs the impact.

Extremely disappointed. We are actively exploring alternative processors.

Our old clover mini stopped working and we had no choice to purchase another one as we needed it right away and didn't have time to look into something else. The purchase process was unbearable. Took hours on the phone after being cut off a few times. Ugh! Their customer service is horrible. Not only are they hard to understand but they also didn't make sure I had everything I needed. The only plus is that the new mini came in 2 days so I wasn't down for too long.

scam time…

They insulate the risk department from customers. My company submitted a large transection, and it turned out to be one of the biggest nightmares i Have dealt with in my 25 years in business. Pure and simple they used my customers money for almost three weeks, and nobody is accountable as to the status of the funds. They say, "oh i am sorry" That does not feed my employees children. They failed to call on set phone call appointments. It's one great big stall tactic. I am surprised my bank recommended these guys. Moving accounts from there as well. When you can't go up the ladder in a dispute resolution it is constructed that way for a reason: GREED Goodbye Frost Bank too.

If i could put a zero and tell you to…

If i could put a zero and tell you to stay far away i would! Clover is like a horrible relationship, it will be great in the first few months, your rep will help you and go above and beyond! Then they will take from you and take from you until they claim you owe more in fees than they owe you! Ohhhhh they take their fees and and never give you your money and when you call its always ok we will fix it call tomorrow and tomorrow comes and they have added some fees and then they say you have to wait 14 business days and then they want you to settle with the lowest amount bc you you owe them fees! In the last year we stopped using them but for 2 customers a month, totaling 450 every month and we will be lucky if we get 150 to 200 dollars a month later!!! Customer service is useless!
Just do yourself a favor and go with somebody else

Worse than Xfinity

Literally, maybe, the WORST company I have ever dealt with. I may hate them more than Xfinity. They have screwed up my business, a small coffee shop I bought 15 months ago, and was stuck with them from the previous owner's lease. The tech service is terrible. I mean idiots. I don't really know how they stay in business. Currently I'm on the phone with them because they wiped out all my customer's loyalty points when they fixed my Promos, which didn't work for a year. So many issues. I am moving as soon as I can regardless of the early term fee. (as the competitor's are helping me get a buy out of that).
