The tutoring itself is great, we really liked our son’s tutor - she was fun, engaging and firm which was a really good fit as he can be easily distracted. He did alternative weeks of maths and Englis... See more

Very supportive and relatable.
Out tutor has been very supportive and motivational. With our personalised NAPLAN focus, our child feels more confident and the results are definitely showing. Thanks Cluey.
James has been finding the session s very useful enabling him to improve his performance.
Total scam! They advertised "face-to-face" tutoring, but it turned out to be an online session. Trying to request a refund, but their calls are never answered.

My daughter has had only 3 sessions with her Cluey tutor, and she feels more confident in class
Couldn't be happier with the support given with how they choose the right tutors for my kid, to the support given with payment plans. one very happy yr12 student and one happy parent.
We had trouble arranging times with local tutors, but Cluey allows us to draw on a much larger pool. Our son has adapted easily to the online format and applies himself fully in this 1-2-1 format. The after-session reports allow us to understand what our son has been doing without the drawn-out effort of trying to get him to tell us. Over-all we are very happy with Cluey and would recommend to others.
I was looking for an online tutor for my son and came across Cluet tutoring based in NZ. The sales people contacted me and offered a cheaper deal which was $47 per session for the first 2 weeks. I was told by the sales team member Hayden that if the tutoring wasn't a good fit then I clould cancel straight after the first session.I did try to cancel after the first session but my call was immediately directed to an automated service with options to log into your online account or speak to someone so I wanted to speak to someone and the line just went dead after 3 rings. I tried a number of times with the sales number and the support number but the line just rings and hangs up after 3 rings. My next step was to use their chat bot messaging service which doesn't assist and says that it will get a representative to communicate with you. Then you just get an automated message saying to cancel online. I went to our online account which doesn't allow you to cancel after your first session.
After days of not getting anywhere we decided to just finish the trial and be done with it and still try to cancel online to no avail. but they were still taking money out of our account and I can't stop them. I wrote on the chat bot and finally got someone to explain the situation to and they immediately blocked our login to our account and continued to take money @$90 per session AUD. We didnt even have any way to finish the trial lessons that we paid for or the future lessons that they continued to deduct money for but blocked our account.
After more efforts to contact them (and still trying) the full amount they have deducted is $647.18 AUD. From an original trial offer for 2 weeks @ 2 lessons a week that we could not cancel which should have been $188. We were unable to even take the fourth lesson as we were blocked.
More attempts to contact them on the chatbot messages I threatened to tell the consumer affairs. They returned 4 payments of $90 only.
This business is a scam. They do offer tutoring but lock people in with a fake trial that you are unable to cancel after the first session and unable to call the sales line again. There are no support lines available. The phone support number disconnects after a few rings. There is no email. only a chatbot which just directs you back to the website. Once they have your phone number, you seem to get blocked. I have reported them to the NZ consumer protection

Stopped calling when told we initially went with another company, then very swiftly put things into place when we decided Cluey as better suited to my child with ADHD. They swapped tutors manually to those tutors with most experience with ADHD without me asking, as the very helpful lady on the phone listened carefully to our needs and my child’s difficulties. So far, very pleased with how the term has been going. Alissa, you were amazing to take extra time to ensure we had a good fit!
1. Tutor had technical issues.
2. Tutor couldn't tell me what happens when there's a technical issue. Also couldn't give me a contact number for Cluey to resolve.
3. Session was delayed by 20 minutes. We agreed to continue with the session as the tutor would give us a full hour due to her technical difficulties. However, the session was cut short and we were disconnected before the hour was up.
4. Walked into the session and my daughter was visibly upset, tears streaming down face. Tutor had no Clue!
5. Impossible to reach a human to resolve my issues. Still waiting to hear from someone.
6. Requested recording of session. Funny enough, the recording doesn’t show the tutor nor can you hear any of the tutor in the session.
Overall a really bad experience, especially for a child who doesn’t have the confidence in Maths. DO NOT recommend this company.

So far so good. We’ve only had three sessions so far. The tutors have been good with my daughter and helped to put her at ease. She is learning and embedding what they are teaching her.
Please do not apply. This is a fraud app. They do not pick your phone. They have so many technical issues. They are not approachable and have no customer service. I paid for sessions and did not receive any session. Their website does not work and I tried to reach them and no answer. They do not fix issues.
Please give me a call Cluey people if you are reading this.

I worked as a tutor for Cluey for about 2 years. I was able to help a few students which I am very proud of. I think due to financial pressures Cluey ramped up its exploitation of employees. Eg In one session, the internet connection kept cutting out so eventually I told the student this was a waste of both of our times. I ended the session. That was counted as unforgivable by Cluey. I had previously bent over backwards to purchase books, dvds etc to get my head around the text my students were studying. This apparently counted for nothing as far as Cluey was concerned.
Good price but the service is very generic & no progress is really made. We found we were better off getting an in-person tutor from another company. The sales pitch promises a lot more than we got.
Very unhappy.
I spent 45 minutes being sold a lie before joining. This company should not be allowed to operate.
We were set to join our first session and were having technical problems. We were then told for the first time that Cluey is not compatible with Ipads or mobile devices. This was the first time we were hearing this. We do not have any other devices in the house for the kids to use. The tech help person was pretending not to hear me say "we need to cancel and get a full refund as this was not explained" I could hear him, and all the background noise but he was pretending so "hello... hello" I said, "i can hear your dog barking so I know you can hear me. He then offered no help (I guess that's how scammers work of course) No way to reach the mobile of the woman who sold it to me. I have put a block on my credit card, and made sure that no other passwords are the same as I used to log into their portal. I wish I'd read reviews before joining. Terrible

Very money minded company. Changes tutors with no prior information, but when one tries to change the session even weeks before, one can’t do.
I would have given “0”, but I can’t do that.
My son now understands how to solve algebra based questions as he's been struggling with it for quite some time now, 10/10 would recommend if your child or you are struggling with a subject in school!
Cluey has been a fantastic resource to build confidence in my HSC year. The way homework is set is great and the way the lessons are structured is wonderful.
As everyone else said, we signed up for the cheap trial after seeing their advertisement and were assured that we could cancel if we don't like it. Once they have your credit card details, the steal a hefty amount off your credit card.
The worst part is that Cluey is based in the Philippines but they lie and say it's based in Sydney, so you're not even protected by Australian consumer laws. You have to just report the funds stolen and get your back to issue a new credit card.
All the positive reviews are fake reviews written by their Philippines employees and not by real parents. Don't fall for this foreign scam run by Filipinos. Also, the girl who took the tutoring session was a teenager, not the qualified teacher they promise you you're getting when you hand over your credit card.
As for their platform, it looks like it was made 20 years ago. It's old, clunky and badly designed.
Cluey learning is impossible to contact to make changes. We phone and get directed to a 'hub' which we are unable to access or the phone just hangs up. Really frustrating.
