One star is going over and above!
One star is going over and above! Beware Of this company! There was no communication unless we initiated it. We asked for our stuff to be delivered ASAP, and it took them nearly 6 weeks and about triple the cost that we were quoted. We were very transparent about what we had, but were literally only able to get about a fourth of our belongings on the truck. I’m not even sure how they knew what stuff was ours since it was backed up to another person‘s belongings. Boxes were smashed, one piece of furniture was in three pieces, and That was just my initial perusal of what we received. Use them at your own risk! And a big risk that is!
Mover scam
You expect me to act civil after what your team has done to us! I made a contract with your team and they sold me out to larger scam artist.
If you or your family just got screwed over for a cost from $2,179.25 and all of a sudden, I get a cost scam for all most $7,000.00? You’re an idiot if you think you would be calm.
Coastal Moving Services had Ryan Rinker call me and act all my friend
1 - I was told Coastal would be moving our belongings – Lie – You brokered me out to a scum bag company Cita that is even worse than your team.
2 – I was told that $944.00 deposit and the rest once our belongings were moved to Corpus (2 days), I would pay the rest upon delivery. – Lie
3 - I was told your team couldn’t drive the 6 hours due to new trucker policies so I’d have to pay for a motel. – Lie
4 – Most of the conversations I have with Cita, it’s always the same thing. Well, you have so many boxes; How do the boxes keep growing?
I stated so many boxes I contact the numbers that Ryan Rinker gave me and left a message stating, I have about 50-60 more boxes (No response from Ryan). Then Cita charged for boxing up our furniture that I already paid Coastal for and in our conversations, it’s gone from 140 boxes to 280 boxes to 460 boxes. I didn’t move a house; I moved an apartment and small storage room. NOTHING BUT LIES!
Your team created this mess – FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m going to post all of our conversations to your site and Cita’s site until you get a backbone get this fixed!!!!!!
The contract with Coastal Movers was for $2,179.25 which has not been fulfilled. Cita Van Lines came in raising the price to all most $7,000.00. There is no provision in the contract that states anything about changing the price just because they want to scam you for more money.
Do they even deserve a star?
Do they even deserve a star? This maybe is not so much about the services end of them but the actual movers are the lowest, most uneducated, unreliable crew in the United States. On a move across states I paid over $2,500 dollars for a crew who didn’t show up until AFTER escrow closed. The new buyer was more than kind and opened the house a day after it was scheduled, for me to get my things out. I waited until 11 pm and no one showed. Finally customer service called and said they would be here between 8 and 9 am the next morning. Once again the new buyer let me in and an entire day until after 9 pm I waited. Same thing the next day except that I did get a call promising 9 am. No show. I get a call about an hour later that it would be about 11 am. This man who called barely spoke English and was so rude. When I asked why not 9 am and explained the new owner letting me in he started yelling something I couldn’t understand then hung up. A few moments later a woman with also limited English called telling me how wrong I am that the man before her was not rude and was very nice.welll she obviously knows nothing about first impressions. She also hung up not letting me speak. No one at Coastal has called back and here sit my things in someone else’s house and I have put a hold on all payments. I don’t know what to do
A price gouging and on of the biggest scam companies I’ve ever encountered
Zero stars. They talk to you and give you a great price. Then the deceit begins. $1500 deposit then on final count deleted 6 pieces of furniture and added file cabinet, and 30 additional bins which they demanded another $1500 or lose your deposit. Upon pickup price was quoted $1200 and delivery $1200. They moved 1 dresser, full size bed with headboard, 1 tv which was supposed to come with free box, an oscillating fan, jewelry box and bins to my house and bins to storage. When they picked up my items my price went up an additional $800 each way. They not only had the bins mixed up but cracked the majority of them. They charged me $14 for the supposed free box, mattress cover which I didn’t care about and then charged me an additional $150 for my tv which was already included in my price They stated that they moved 2 tvs and since I only owned 1 was quite confusing. The fact they kept adding to my price makes me wonder how accurate their count actually was. The lack of care in which they handled my property was a joke. They put the majority of my things in storage leaving me to pull bins to go to my house. Which my son had to put in his truck to take over. We are still bringing bins to the house and they are broken at $10 a pop is a lot of money. They put the few furniture items in my bedroom and when I went in my son was putting my bed together. I said what are you doing? Needless to say these incompetent and i hesitate to call them movers had left. My total price for this experience went from about $3000 to $8000. When the movers came to pick up they wanted to do a video with them saying what a wonderful experience it was so they could get a bonus. When the movers who delivered came they did not speak English and after 3 trips he told me my drivers don’t understand you. I told them they mixed up my bins and put heavy bins on top of light ones. Talking about a deer in headlights. The only one who spoke some English dismissed what I said to him. If you are looking to be scammed and price gouged and receive your property damaged then by all means they are the company for you. I on the other hand suggest never ever use this company. Their response to me is that I should have called them. My response was I was treated rudely, they were deceitful and nasty. I requested my final bill for which I called twice and then sent an email which my bill was received 6 days later. They were going to contact me and after I wrote my experience with BBB and told me why the price was higher and still told me I had 2 imaginary tvs to which I only owned 1. They sent me a do using for a refund of $900 for poor customer service. I told him you need to send me $4000 for which you ripped me off. My response on BBB magically disappeared which I find very curious about. I contacted Americasafe movers listed every single item on my move from Coastal and my price would’ve been $2700. Take the warning from my review and all the others. They are horrible and absolutely true. The reason I didn’t contact them because I wanted all my possessions before I wrote my review. Please contact the appropriate government agency to report this company as I have.
Horrible
The first people that I spoke to on the phone were professional and helpful in getting my move in motion. They used S & A movers out of Hoboken, NJ who charged me an extra $600 because they had to down size the truck upon arrival to my new place even after I confirmed with the previous driver that the truck would fit in my apartment complex and confirmed this with the apartment management. They also broke my
Peloton that’s brand new. It was my favorite thing that I begged to please be gentle with and now it’s been almost 2 months I haven’t been able to use it because peloton finally figured out the problem. Forget filing a claim- they make it next to impossible. Don’t use this company! Also, there is a girl in customer service who is extremely belittling and just plain mean. The boy I spoke to mostly in customer service (I want to say his name is Jacob) was professional, nice, and understanding.

I agree with all that the other neg reviews said. The movers demanded more upon delivery. I had no choice but to pay it. Next time will call the police. Then they damaged items but never responded to my requests and ultimately blocked me. There is a demand for this type of service, it is just unfortunate that the area is ridden with criminals.
Please don’t waste your time with this… Don’t waste your time with coastal moving LLC
Please don’t waste your time with this company. There are a bait and switch company. Their customer service is terrible. They charge you big-time so whatever quote you gonna get multiplied by at least times two or three is what they’re gonna end up making you pay. There are not a true Company I’ve moved several times. Never had a problem until I booked with coastal moving company stay away from this company. I promise you you’ll thank me later.
Liars, Scammers, Price Gougers
I had just about the WORST experience possible with coastal moving services. I scheduled my move 3 months in advanced with coastal after receiving quotes from other companies. I gave them an itemized list of all of my belongings and even gave dimensions of larger furniture items. They quoted me $2,700 and I was told by Joshua Green that "other companies might quote you less but when they come to pick up your items they gouge prices and by that point it's too late" I was also commended for booking my move so far in advanced and was told my quote was pretty solid unless I drastically changed what I was bringing and I had room for more.
The week of my move they asked for photos of my items and when I sent them they said it looks like I'll need "a little" more space in the truck than initially accounted for and my quote raised to $3,500 even though by that point I had less items than what I was quoted for. When the movers came they measured my items and told me it would actually be almost $6,000. And just like Joshua said, at that point it was too late and I was $1,500 in the hole for a cross country move. I had to sell or donate almost all of my furniture last minute and I took SIGNIFICANTLY less items than I was quoted for and was charged $3,700.
The truck drivers also lost 4 of my boxes, broke just about every piece of furniture I was able to bring, refused to deliver my items as the truck was "too big" for my street (even though I've seen multiple semis drive down my street) and demanded $500 for a shuttle fee and refused to deliver my items. I ended up getting a Uhaul and meeting the truck drivers in a target parking lot and was still charged for the $150 stair fee even though the movers did not go up a single step. Josh also told me the movers would set up my furniture and when I mentioned that on a call the customer service rep acted as if that was never a part of the service.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. I have called multiple times to report my lost and damaged items with no call back and I have not received a single cent back. Scammers, dishonest, and taking advantage of people who are looking for a close effective move.
Coastal Moving Services is horrible…
Coastal Moving Services is a horrible company that is purposefully trying to scam their customers:
1. Delayed delivery of items to extract storage fees: The movers informed the "office" will call me next day, measure exactly how much space I am using and inform me of the arrival time. None of this happened. On the day of pick up I have expressed that I am ready to receive the things ASAP, I asked for the delivery date, followed up on e-mails and nobody flagged to me that the first available delivery date was missing. I clearly expressed that I am ready to receive the things ASAP- now they are withholding my items. They purposefully are looking for ways to extract additional fees e.g., they hold things in storage
2. Additional fee for stairs: Despite paying a fee for no elevator they asked for extra money for stairs even though at the moment of booking they knew there are 3 flights of stairs and they purposefully did not say anything
3. Significantly delayed pick-up (6h) arrival with no communication
4. Purposefully misleading on space used: They claim that you need more storage and they do not measure it just look at it and ballmark throw random numbers. The promised they will show proof of proper measure but never did. The movers were artificially asserting some numbers e.g., "queen mattress is 100 cubic feet". When I googled it, it says 27 cubic feet.
5. Unprofessional behavior- there was some wine leftover on the counter and your team asked if they can have it and drink it. This raised significant concerns on my end if they are drinking during work hours.
6. Poor quality of moving- the movers were not behaving professionally and were throwing boxes.
7. Rude customer service: customer service is mean and unprofessional. They basically were shouting at me
Do Not Use Coastal Moving
Coastal Moving is the worst company to deal with, do not use them. They are scam artists who try and up charge by saying the truck won't fit, or too many stairrs, or a long carry situation. They tried this on my son and when he compained to the moving company they just dropped his belongings in the street and left.
Horrible experience with this company…
Horrible experience with this company Aidan is nothing but a broker that will give you a price that is unbeatable i even went as far as sending him a detailed list of items i needed moved and the weight of the items he stores me a price way cheaper than what i had been quoted by the company i should of used. I was quoted 7700 from the first company Aidan says he can do it for 6400 and wants 3478 to book the move and the rest is due when they deliver. Guys show up to do the move in a rental truck no credentials no nothing and want to charge me 7500 for the move i ask so you want 7500 minus the 3478 i already payed he says no that’s what you owe me when i deliver which is dang near 11 grand which is 4500 more than what i was quoted i told them NO!!!!!! So being i need to get this stuff moved i call costal to learn they are just brokers after they got my money and the guys they hire can charge whatever they want so be aware that whatever you pay as your deposit is pretty much just the broker fee to set you up with an actual moving company. Scam from the start!!!!! To make things even worse the guys they sent were good guys working for a scam artist i feel for these guys. This guy gets to the delivery location demands payment before they can get started which is understandable but only accepts venmo or zelle cash cashier check or money order very convenient when Venmo has a 1500 a day limit for us anyways being a new user so i run all over town trying to find something to get this guy paid being it’s Saturday in a small town everything closed find a grocery store buy money orders but the limit is 2000 go back give him the money orders pay rest in cash which he sticks in his wallet and lays the money orders on the hood of my car with his paperwork i never get out of the car he walks off comes back i have no idea why he walks off until he gets back and starts acting like he’s looking for something pulls his wallet out and then accuses me of stealing his money that he layed on my hood i say nosir you put the money in your wallet and layed the money order on my hood for whatever reason at that point it got a little heated to say the least so yea all in all one of the worst experiences of my life very costly mistake beware
Please DO NOT use or do business with…
Please DO NOT use or do business with this company. I worked with a person named Aiden who gave me an estimate for the items I had and before signing the documents I let him know that what he has does not represent everything and he told me sign it’s fine if you have additional items the estimate will stay as is. When it came to the day of pick up the drivers showed up late would not pick up calls to provide eta. The drivers that showed up look sketch did not speak good English. I showed them wanted needed to be loaded they said O that’s gonna be more than what is in your paperwork. The new estimate provided was now $8000 from $2300 WHAT right. I called their office and they told me well either you pay that or we only take what’s for the original estimate and when I explain what this Aiden person said they said well you signed and you don’t get your refund. This company is a BIG SCAM stay away and o the truck used was like something they pulled from God knows where. They did not have the proper equipment where your items would be secure and safe which explains some of the reviews of damages to their items. This company needs to be reported to the Consumer Bureau and should not be in business.
If I could give a negative rating
If I could give a negative rating I would. Scheduled on 5/13 for a move on 5/28 and gave them almost a one thousand dollar deposit. Called on 5/15 to cancel and was told they would not refund my deposit but would give me a credit to use for up to one year which is worthless. I found another mover who had me actually show him what had to be moved and found out that Coastal's estimate was half of what it should have been. Typical bait and switch. The company that was going to do the actual move could not be found on the internet. Run away as fast as you can from these thieves. Any positives reviews must be from family or employees.
I booked my move with Coastal Moving…
I booked my move with Coastal Moving Svcs. and gave $1300 as down payment. Later due to health problems I had to cancel and asked for return of my deposit. They refused. I also didn't get my $250 deposit back from the guy who they arranged to tow my car. Total of $1550 for nothing. I'm a 74 year old woman who has no recouse but to write this review as a warning. These people are despicable crooks. That's why they have a low rating. You must pay half the cost of your move immediately and you have ONLY 72 hours to cancel. IT WILL NEVER BE RETURNED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. That's not a company you want to do business with.
Scam artists. DON'T SIGN THE "BINDING ESTIMATE"
They forged the"Binding estimate" and added a 72 hour cancellation statement on the 2nd copy they sent and refuse to refund any of the $1300 deposit that was placed. No move was even scheduled. They said they could put a hold on it but the contract is the contract. On further review of the estimate they way under estimated the space needed and would have definently been charging more so watch what you sign with them. Very nice to the 74 year old lady until they got her money. These people are nothing more than scam artists.
These folks are a scam
These folks are a scam. They hired a move that picked my moms stuff up on July 29th and we have never received the items. They make you sign a contract saying you will work with you customer service but then they do not answer the phones. I have heard every excuse but what has not happened is the delivery of my mothers items.
Avoid this company!
Avoid this company!
The sales team assured me of a date the movers would show up and a date our things would be delivered to the new address. We were told the driver would be contacting us 2 days before the move date to let us know what time to expect them. No call from the driver. We were then told that we would receive a call from the driver the day before the move. No call from the driver. The day of the move we still have not heard from the driver and customer service cannot provide any information as to when they might arrive. At 3pm that day we are told that the driver will be there the following morning (a day late) and we will be getting a call from him with the time of arrival. No call from the driver. The following morning (already a day late) we are told that the driver will not be there until 3pm. At 3pm we have still not heard from the driver and customer service cannot give us an update.
To summarize, the driver never showed up and we had to scramble to rent a UHaul and move ourselves. We were never given any explanation as to what happened and now are being told that they cannot tell us if/when we will be receiving our deposit back. I have never dealt with a company with worse customer service.
I was left waiting for them for a week after our scheduled move
I schedule a date for pick up and the movers never called 24/48 hrs in advanced as promised. The day of, I get a vague email about how the movers had to cancel and they needed to reschedule the trip. I had everything packed and ready to go while costal transport stringed me along for a whole extra WEEK until they finally found someone to take the job. I was the last stop for the movers and my stuff didn't fit all the way because they were so crammed. I had to throw away some things and they even had the audacity to upcharge me $100 "for gas."
STAY AWAY from this company unless you want your moving nightmare to come true.
