I was always told that anyone can learn to code basically for free with videos, articles and forums. I tried that and it didn’t get me very far. Since I started on Codecademy I know why. It is so helpful to have a thoroughly designed curriculum put together for a step by step learning journey. The little coding tasks and bigger projects are well designed to reinforce the concepts. This makes them much easier to remember, when I need them for my own code. After the JavaScript course, I’ve written my own first script for an After Effects automatisation. I wanted to do that for years and now it saves a lot of time for my friends at a local TV station in Germany.
I like how codecademy has many features for different styles and paces of learning.
I’ve found that the forums can be confusing and I’ve ended up looking at different websites for answers to codecademy websites… I was kinda disappointed but, outside of the forums, I would rate it 5 stars. But because of the forums. I rate it 4 1/2 stars. Thanks again for the amazing staff team for helping me.
Very useful and helpful, sometimes buggy but it isn’t a big deal. thx very much
Its good but it would be better if you have more exerise
Great courses and very helpful tips for career build-up! I love the learning methods, very complete with projects and quizzes that help you review your knowledge.
I love the fact that there are almost no video in this platform, you just learn by doing, bit by bit, and for me, that's the way to learn
This is a great site it is really helping me learn to code and explore different things and has its own workspace.
The best coding website I have ever seen. You can learn anything you want!
My Son subscribed to Pro Last summer. We got charged for another year today without a reminder email or any heads up. It is $254. I believe it is malicious practice on the company's part. We have multiple subscriptions to annual services, and we always get an email a few weeks before renewal. Very unprofessional.

So far so good but not great
The knowledge base and curriculum within Codecademy are great. The lessons are functional, direct, and informative. However, the tool itself, the console in which I practice coding, works only a portion of the time. Frustratingly, the code I write may in fact be correct, but due to some unseen error, is rejected. I've found that if a code doesn't work, or doesn't function correctly, the most common fix isn't to rewrite the code, or look for possible mistakes - it's to refresh the webpage. Then, miraculously, the code functions. As it turns out, the code was correct all along, but for some reason, the console didn't accept it. This is the biggest hurdle facing Codecademy - that on a very basic level, it doesn't work.
I found a good learning platform with easy ways to help if I got stuck on a question thanks
The best platform so far that I have seen, is easy to guide yourself and study.
I like Codecademy because it is good for getting experience. I do think though that Codecademy can get repetitive when it is article, activity, article, activity, etc.
Looking for a change in careers and that is a scary thing, Codecademy has eased that burden and I'm far more confident than I'd be studying on my own.
Best learning platform by far! I am excited to be part of Codecademy. I am a qualified and experienced Computer Systems Engineer working as a freelance full stack developer. I recommend Codecademy to any coder elevating their programming skills.
Kind regards.
Thabo Motau.
If you want to cancel they make it IMPOSSIBLE to do-so, put you in a online-chat-only-loop of no descriptions where you click "read article" and only takes you to page simply saying "Refunds are not available for Codecademy Pro purchases". They have no contact phone number and just continue billing you $39.99/month - I had to dispute from my bank to cancel - don't use this service
