This is not a business, Fraudulent business

Updated following response.

Still no delivery, nor offer of refund. Tracking information offered for a product that was paid for over 6 weeks ago, if this is the turnaround of a monthly scheduled product. It is unsustainable and will not provide what they offer. Avoid Cognioro at all costs.

This is not a business, you provide them money. They provide you nothing in return. Do not invest your money, time or hope in this product.

Scam. Do avoid!

On the 24th of July I had signed up for a trial with Cogniora just to see that their product is nothing special. 3 months after that and no further communication I have just been charged £54.45, I then proceeded to contact the team just for them to call me a liar and tell me that they will not refund me. Times are hard right now especially if your self employed and this company does not give a damn. I do not want your product. Give me my money back!

Free sample scam

I’m very disappointed with a service I received. After I purchased “free” sample I have been automatically signed up to monthly subscription I wasn’t aware of nor received any email saying it. I only noticed when £59.26 left my account and I couldn’t get it back ( after many attempts to stop a charge). Beware of those tricks with a “free” sample.

Hi Mark,

First of all, I would like to apologise for the delay in the shipment of your package. There was a slight problem with the shipment but it has been fixed now.

I totally understand how you feel, but definitely, we are not scamming. We do not charge customers on orders they are not made aware of and we ship orders. Sometimes delays are inevitable.

Your package has been shipped, you may refer to the tracking information provided by our representative so you have a view on the status of your shipment.

Regarding the subscription, you signed up on the 24th of September 2020, you were given 7 days before the subscription starts, however, we extended the trial period to another 5 days to make sure you maximize the 5 day-trial.

Information about subscription was presented before you entered your shipping and billing details. A follow-up email was sent with the list of the ingredients of your stack as well as the subscription start date and the monthly recurring fee.

Again our apologies for the late delivery. Rest assured that we are working continuously to provide better service to our customers.

Scam. Please avoid.

This is looking more and more like a scam every day. We cancelled an order within the trial period (as I realised I could get the same ingredients for vastly cheaper) and they took the money anyway. When we complained about this they said the product had already been delivered so they couldn’t give us our money back. 14 working days later and still no show. They refuse to answer emails except with the generic response ‘delivery could take up to 10 working days’. They do not read emails / cannot count. Avoid these scam artists at all costs. £60 stolen.

IT'S A SCAM

IT'S A SCAM - STEER CLEAR!
I ordered my 'free trial' products and paid the postage of £2.95. However I had second thoughts overnight, then read these reviews, and cancelled my subscription the next morning.
My 'free trial' product never arrived. But they still took the £2.95. And they continually send me emails telling me how good their product is, asking how I'm enjoying it, AND encouraging me to sign up to a subscription.
In the UK, all consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period for goods bought online: "Your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and doesn't end until 14 days from the day you receive your goods. "
I'll be following this up with Trading Standards.

PLEASE AVOID

PLEASE AVOID - This is clearly a scam and for those people who have written positive reviews it is quite clear that you are being paid to do so.

Further to your response, the screen shots that you sent were not applicable to me and were for someone else which is potentially a GDPR breach.

If you felt that you were being clear then you wouldn’t delete/hide the other comments from people that you have hoodwinked.

You are using a negative option in your sign up process which would require my consent to override and this was not given.

I have passed the details to my bank, trading standards and Facebook so hopefully you will no longer be able to scam people.

Despite the product being personal and having to pay the best part of £55, I still haven’t received the product that was specifically produced for me! Your dodgy terms and conditions don’t cover that do they?

Not a Happy Customer. Don’t like being conned

Same as other people, purchased the 5 day sample pack which was Free but had to cover postage. However over a week later had an email from PayPal saying they were taking £58 from my bank. After several emails to cogniora getting nowhere. They say the product is being made and can’t cancel. Haven’t received goods so can’t see how they can say you can’t stop the subscription they set up. Very annoyed at going for a sample pack plus they didn’t even help.
I found I started using Chlorella and that helped instantly. Should be stopped from advertising

——————————————————-
So despite me emailing before goods were sent and Conoira stating goods are being made, then saying will been sent out.. It’s now 28th October and no goods received or credit via PayPal received
Think these guys catch everyone once.
Can not see how simple off the shelf products are specially made for individuals.

Dubious marketing ethics.

I too have been somewhat swindled by their free trial offer.
Clearly I'm not alone.
I genuinely was considering the product as I appreciate the science that goes behind it.
However the quality of your product is overshadowed by the dubious method of getting people to enter into subscriptions.
I've read the standard replies and quite frankly think that unless you change how you operate the poor experiences that I and others have had will eclipse the good reviews of your product.
I don't care how you legally justify the subscription swindle, you've fooled far too many people into it - which mean's what you're doing is morally wrong.
£50 is a lot of money during this point in time when many are out of work or have lower incomes.
I won't fight you for it, but rest assured I won't be using your product again.
And your cancellation procedure is a textbook scamming model.

We've been striving to make the experience as smooth as possible. Just a short explanation - our free trial promotion enrolls you into a renewing subscription, which is mentioned several times throughout the free sample pack checkout process for all customers prior to entering any shipping and payment information. It is also mentioned in the thank you page as well as the following emails that a customer receives. The ability and method to cancel the subscription at any time are stated there as well.

We apologise for any inconvenience this experience has caused you.

Beware the subscription trap.

In response the the reply from Cogniora. They can deny it all they like but I have screenshots of the whole process which verifies my experience and I'm happy to post them on their Facebook page.

Cogniora have a business model which relies on consumers falling in to a subscription trap. I signed up for a free trial and within a couple of days of starting my trial I had over £50 taken from my account. When I notified them of this they refused to refund me and I had several very stressful arguments until I pointed out the following. For anyone else falling into this trap, please feel free to copy and paste this.

Cogniora are in breach of the Consumer Contract (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Practices Regulations 2008 as the terms and conditions of the 'free trial' were not and are not prominently displayed on the website.

Cogniora go out of their way to distract the consumer from looking for any terms and conditions by placing a huge button at the top of the screen which says 'GET MY FREE SAMPLE'. In fact, the consumer must scroll down several pages before 'subscription' is even mentioned. While scrolling there is another huge button saying 'GET MY FREE SAMPLE'.

After this button there is an option to 'get a full box', again, an attempt to mislead the consumer.

Following this, and this is particularly important, is a text box which says the following ; 'as long as you remain a subscriber after the trial period, we'll ship you a full nootropics box every month'. My trial had not finished. The key word to note is 'after' and there are two points here;

a) Its is not reasonable for a consumer to expect their subscription to start before the 'free' trial period has ended. Especially when Cogniora specifically use the words 'after the trial period'.
b) how could the consumer be expected to make a reasonable decision on whether or not to cancel the subscription without being given the opportunity to complete their 'free' trial?

This leads me to the conclusion that, rather than offering a 'free trial' to allow consumers to make a fair and informed decision on whether to buy it is indeed an attempt to con them into a subscription trap.

They send an introductory email and claim this tells the consumer they have been subscribed. It does not. No where does it mention the word 'subscription'. All it does is outlines what to expect from the 'free' trial.

Moving on, the Consumer Contract Regulations which came into force in June 2014 state that a consumer needs to actively tick a box which confirms further payments can be taken. This cannot be autofilled. I did not tick any box.

After the trial, waiting…

After the trial, the initial product takes ages to arrive meaning there will be a considerable pause negating any effects of the trial. The cancellation process from the website takes roughly 6-7 steps of confirming and is borderline scammy. If I had any doubts, clicking through the process twice confirmed the cancellation was the right call for me. Sleep well and eat your vitamin D instead.

This attitude clearly demonstrates how…

This attitude clearly demonstrates how unhelpful and you are
I explained that I did log into your site and I did cancel it so as far as I was aware it was cancelled
Nothing led me to believe it hadn't worked hence my surprise when you sent me the order and charge
What I find unbelievable is that I explained all this many times and you can see from the history that I was clearly not happy from the outset. I clearly cancelled in time via email and through the site or why would you send me the link and password . So upon realising after the event and reviewing the evidence and history you should issue a refund as it’s only fair and the right thing to do in the circumstances
I will be taking this further after receiving legal advice and you are in breach of contract . There is no need to reply here and I will deal with this now formally . I write this review so other consumers can be aware of the cancellation issues . It is clear from many other reviews here and other sites that I am not the only one who has experienced the subscription issues and that will help my case . The only way to resolve this satisfactory is for you to issue me with a full refund

ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS AVOID AT ALL COSTS NOT A FREE TRIAL AT AL!!

Absolute scammers!! They try to lure you in with the “free trial” for 5 days but they automatically enrol you into a 3 full boxes at £107.65. Don't get stung like I did, they will reply and say that the boxes are personal and cannot be refunded, each box is process AS SOON as the order is placed which is nonsense. The worst part is they refused to even send out my 5 day “free” trial alongside it. Avoid and reported

EDIT: Also please be very careful their reply is very carefully written. When you click on upgrade (even to enquire around what you get) you are IMMEDIATELY charged. Do your research on this company and you’ll see that most reviews are written by themselves, the bad reviews are a clear indicator of the truth behind this company

Unreliable and untrustworthy company

UPDATE 15/10/20: It has now been well over a month since I have not received my order. After being told for weeks and weeks to wait for 30 days, I contacted services stating that I want my money back for goods I have never received and they just won't respond to me. BEWARE - do not use this company. The 'positive' reviews on here for them have all the hallmarks of dodgy paid-for reviews (brief, vague and generic) to counterbalance all the specific and negative experiences people have clearly had with this company. Don't fall for it, there are much better other providers i have used since with no problems.

Original review:

I subscribed to Cogniora after my initial trial, which was over £50 for one month. My subscription renewed on September 1st.

What they do not make apparent, is that their goods are shipped from overseas (not that this is an issue in itself). According to tracking, my order left Lithuania on 3rd September for the UK. On 9th September I contacted customer services as I had been waiting over a week since my renewal at that point and I was told it was in transit and to wait (even though tracking had not been updated since leaving Lithuania Sep 3rd)

On 14th, the package had still not arrived and the tracking had not been updated - again i was just told to wait. I specifically asked them at what point they would accept it was lost, which they did not answer.

On 21st I contacted again - asking for a refund, as they still would not resend my order (they completely ignored my request for a refund) - and they still refused to acknowledge my order had been lost in transit, even though there were still no updates on my order since leaving Lithuania on Sep 3rd. They just said they would chase it.

My items were clearly lost, which they refused to acknowledge - and they have refused to do anything about it.

Thank you for writing this review and we apologise for the delay of your package and inconvenience this issue has caused you.

Recently some orders might be stuck in transit so we do not see any update for the past 3 weeks. We could not declare it lost until the tracking status shows so, or if the package has been shipped over 30 days.

We provide options to resolve this issue. Since we are not able to locate your account, we could not check it in our system.

Again our apologies for the frustration this delay has brought. We are hoping you give us the chance to resolve this by giving us a few more days.
