I received 2 letters this year stating it's time for another Cologard test. My last one was 3 yrs ago. Results were negative. I had a colonoscopy within the past 10 years. Results were negative.... See more

Don't bother
This is a test both for 'occult' blood [which can be caused by things other than polyps/cancer] and tumor DNA. BUT the result is only reported as positive/negative, and they do not provide the result to the patient either- it goes by snail mail to the doctor. I wasted $600 out-of-pocket for a result which gives no information about whether tumor DNA was detected.
Cologuard Fail
Cologuard sent a test. It was lost in transit. I notified them, but never received another one. I continued getting texts telling me to return it. I do not recommend Cologuard.
This company is incompetent
This company is incompetent. They send you a six-page guide booklet in advance. They explain the collection process and then tell you to return the collection by UPS. I did this. But nowhere in the guide did it say not to send on Friday because it wouldn’t get there on time, which happened to me. The company didn’t have professionalism to contact me after the rejection. When I explained what happened to someone in leadership, she looked at the booklet and agreed that it didn’t say not to send it on Fridays. After completing the unpleasant procedure and having it rejected, she asked me if I wanted another kit. Since the results are weak anyway, and the company seems incompetent, I think I’ll just get a colonoscopy.
Insurance only pays for one test
After using a cologuard test that my insurance paid for my test came back positive. I had to have a colonoscopy after the positive result and insurance does not pay for the colonoscopy you have to have. After paying 6000.00 out of pocket the colonoscopy was negative.
About 15 years ago I had a positive…
About 15 years ago I had a positive result from colorgaurd, I ignored it. Last year at the request of my doctor I did another one and had another positive result. So I did the colonagraphy and it was negative completely.
What the heck!? I will never do one again and I’ll let everyone know not to trust what could be a false positive.
A doctor in urgent care suggested that…scammers
A doctor in urgent care suggested that I get this test done ! And I received a test I sent it back then 2 days later received a text stating they couldn’t use that sample and would send a new test kit out and that had me annoyed only to receive the second test kit drive and dropped off to UPS to again receive another text that the sample was damaged during shipping ! I found that very hard to believe . Still not thinking much of it . My daughter said that sounds really strange and it sounds like a scam. only to look up the reviews and see that everyone here is getting scammed by this company ! Taking advantage of people , false results and stealing money ! Unbelievable glad that I read the reviews to figure out that it’s not just me . Don’t use this company , bunch of B.S! Scammers !!!
This is the second time I was mailed…
This is the second time I was mailed Cologuard in the mail. It was not ordered either time by my insurance company or my physician. (I called both) I called to tell them to take me off their mailing list. They refused stating HIPPA rules requires I give them my Insurance id number and my date of birth. I think my name and address is enough to be taken off Exact Science Laboratories' mailing list. Do not give your personal info to this company.
Not for anxious or Nervous People
My Doctor prescribed this due to my low risk factors. I received the test, completed it and sent it back. Very easy process. Got my results back and it said it was positive. It went on to say it could be due to precancerous growths, colon cancer, or some other reason. I called and got in to see a Gastroenterologist for a Colonoscopy. That test concluded that I did not have any form of Cancer.
I would not recommend Cologuard or any other at home test to anyone who gets very anxious or nervous about positive test results. it can scare you into thinking that you have Cancer. I really wish they would reword some sentences. For example say something like;Your test result tested positive for potential abnormalities in your Colon. DNA markers concluded blood in the Stool. Please contact a Gastroenterologist for further follow up. While in most cases this positive could be due to a simply thing such as Diverticulitis, Polyps or hemorrhoids, it could be something more serious. So be your own Advocate and contact a Doctor today. The sooner a serious illness is detected, better the outcome. Please remember that some results are False Positive and or False Negative.
Don’t use cologuard
Don’t use cologuard. You will get a false positive and it will make you crazy. You will think you’re dying and then have to get a colonoscopy anyway. Just get one and be fine with it.
The instructions for test are too difficult
The instructions for test are too burdensome and difficult to follow. I am a health professional. I collected samples and found that the top to the collection container would not tighten all the way. When I called company, they said to send it in anyway and two days later received results that stated they could not process the test. Further calls revealed that there was probably a leak! I should have been told NOT to send in sample when I notified the container would not close tightly. Cologuard knew it had problems with collection container and should have solved the problem before sending out future kits! Total abuse of their customers as this kit is not simple and fraught with potential errors. My physician is not happy and now I know why they don't recommend Cologuard. Waste of time due to inaccuracy of kit. I need to speak to my physician about next steps but I'm sure it won't include Cologuard. Don't trust the cute commercial with dancing box.
Stay away! Go and do your colonoscopy!
Almost had a f'ing heart attack when a stupid nurse called and said I was "cancer positive". Further research; turns out your test results are almost 100% false-positive. Their negative is NOT reliable either. So, why did we have to do it??. I believe they are the middle men to create perfect candidates for colonoscopy and I also beive your dr receives a huge kickback out of it. Long story short!: Cologuard is the most expensive public restroom. Stay away and just go and do your colonoscopy. You will end up there anyway.
Possible Scam for Insurance Payments
Received a kit after telling them that my PCP did not order, my health insurance did not order, and I had a colonoscopy less than 2 months ago! According to a letter I received, it was ordered by a "health care organization" based in Phoenix (Equality Health) who nobody seems to know and, according to their letter, works with Medicaid recipients - which, I am not. I alerted my PCP and my insurance to not pay - this feels and looks like a scam!!
No Calls
No Calls. I requested that I receive no calls, as I am a college professor and do not get out of class till 5 PM. They called numerous times during the day, sometimes 2 to 3 times a day, even after I requested to be put on the no call list. Today, I asked the female (she was anything but a lady) what part of do not call did they not understand. She told me to "Shut the F*** up and get off the damn line". I will never do business with this company and would not use their problems if it was the only way to detect something. It only detects 42% anyway.
Received a Cologuard test I didn't…
Received a Cologuard test I didn't order nor did my PCP, just received a text message from UPS that it was coming. Caught the UPS guy trying to deliver the box, I refused delivery and told him to send it back where ever it came from. With a 20% false positive rate that increases with age I estimated it to be more like the 60/70% false positive for my age group. (75). They can pick up the tab for the return service.
4th time sending in the kit
4th time sending in the kit. Honestly, if they can't figure it out, I will just go old school. I am amazed a company can stay in business with this poor of a product. 3 times they said they could not get a reading. Just go out of business.
Not helpful
Sent the box off they called me everyday about just for them to send it back. They are full of dodo. Bad bad company. Needs to go out of service. Bad communication
Got the test
Got the test, did it, 3 days later got a positive result. Had a colonoscopy today. Dr. found polyps. Glad a did the test. I am waiting for the biopsy results but probably wouldn't have scheduled a colonoscopy on my own. Thanks Cologuard!
Horrible all the way around!!!
I can't remember the last time I have been so dissatisfied with a company. They billed my insurance and got the $$, never telling me that. When I went to get a colonoscopy it cost me $1200 out of pocket. No wonder they would call and e-mail me all the time to get the test back, so they could get my insurance $$. They also don't care about the persons privacy. It arrived in the white box with the blue on, so everyone recognizes it, and what was just horrible, was the embarrassment I felt when taking the box back to the post office. The way they have it set up, is you return it in the same box, so again everyone there knew what was in the box. If they are not in violation of some or all of the HIPPA laws, I would be surpri
Cologuard is a lie
This is a scam, my surgeon told me post colonoscopy procedure that 50% of their tests are FALSE POSITIVES.
Just schedule a colonoscopy and be done with it!
Don't be fooled.
Received a cell phone call and an email that a ColoGuard test was on it's way. I never asked for or ordered this test. It showed up a day later and said my PCP ordered the test. How did this company get my personal data? I called the company and got know where. I was going to toss it in the dumpster, but I ran a test myself. I put a pile of fresh poo that a dog left in the yard. The test came back positive. At that point I knew the test was inaccurate. They called my cell phone so many times it drove my crazy. This company needs to be investigated.
