The biggest reason the move went so well was the care and professionalism of the moving team "L&J Hotshot Movez, LLC." They were very careful, wrapping all my very fragile items, carefully wrapping my antique items and keeping in touch with me every step of the way. They handled my valubles with care, deposited them intact at the two different places I asked them to, and stayed in touch with us every step of the way.
I would recommend them any time.

Our experience with Colonial Van Lines was extremely disappointing. Initially, they quoted us a lower price than other companies and repeatedly contacted us with a very friendly attitude, encouraging us to sign the contract.
Just a few days before our move, they suddenly demanded an additional $1,500. Part of this amount was for extra belongings that we confirmed we needed to move at the last minute. They said approximately $500 of the additional charge was for transferring our belongings from a larger truck to a smaller one because the large truck supposedly could not enter the area where our new home was located. However, this transfer never happened.
When we challenged this charge, they initially claimed that our belongings had been transferred to another truck. After we explained that the same truck had traveled directly from our original location to our new home without being changed along the way, they changed their explanation. They then claimed that the smaller truck had been used exclusively for our belongings.
This was not true either! After our belongings were unloaded, approximately half to three-quarters of the truck was still filled with other customers’ belongings. We even sent them photographs as evidence, but they still refused to refund the disputed charge.
I paid the additional amount under pressure because they told me that if we did not pay the $1,500 within 30 minutes, they would not transport our additional belongings. They had also told me that a refund is possible. However, now they refuse to return the money, offer nothing but an apology, and no longer respond to our calls and emails.
My strong advice: Do not be fooled by this company’s low initial quote or friendly sales representatives. Always get quotes from other moving companies before making a decision. They may demand additional payments at the last minute, when you have already sold or vacated your home and have little time left to find another company. This can put you in an extremely difficult position.
In my opinion, avoid signing a contract with Colonial Van Lines and consider other moving companies. A friendly attitude at the beginning and a low initial quote are no guarantee of a fair final price or proper customer service.
At this point, we have almost given up hope of getting our money back. We do not know whom to contact, which authority to complain to, or how to recover our money. Despite providing evidence and photographs, they continue to refuse to refund the disputed amount and offer only apologies.
The only thing we can do now is warn other customers so they do not have to go through the same experience. Our message is clear: Do not sign a contract with Colonial Van Lines without thoroughly investigating the company first. Do not let their low initial quote and friendly attitude mislead you!

Colonial moving company did a great job by providing timely and efficient service. The crew came as promised on September 22 at 8a.m. They packed carefully all my items and it took them less than 6 hours. The gave me 3 days window and came right on time on the third day. They unpacked boxes and assembled furniture in less than 6 hours. Not a single item was broken. I strongly recommend using Colonial company for your move.

Colonial van Lines did just the right amount of hand holding and reassuring to keep me confident throughout the move. They were so accommodating when I had to put my stuff in storage instead of the original address. I appreciated the personal touch in this digital world.

Our experience with Colonial Van Lines was ver good. I don’t usually write reviews, especially for something as important as transporting your irreplaceable valuables. The moving crew were fabulous! Alessandro was in charge and we were very pleased, wish I had tipped more! 😄

colonial was very communicative, available and flexible throughout the whole process. my mom was on the pickup end in rural GA and i was on the delivery end in upstate NY. there were no issues, even when atlanta traffic delayed the pickup. friendly, responsive & careful, would definitely recommend!

The original quote I received wasn't far off from the actual total and it's always a feat to handle a cross country move (especially with no seriously damaged items!), however one or two items I had marked to stay at the property I was moving from were loaded onto the truck and several others items that were supposed to make the move with me never arrived. I also had a new moving coordinator every couple of weeks which made communication a little challenging. I've had a MUCH easier time with that after informing them that I'm missing some items.

Overall this experience was good. The movers on both ends were pleasant to deal with, hardworkers and respectful of our things. The communication between Colonial Van Lines and the movers they contract was lacking from my perspective. Our things sat in their storage for nearly two weeks before it moved. I was told it was on the truck and in transit multiple times before it actually was - I know this because I had trackers in my belongings.
Everything arrived and was without damage which is what I cared most about. They were outside the window for delivery but made sure to deliver the day before I was leaving town so I was happy about that. I wasn't pressed to get my things but I'm sure this would be a stressful situation for someone who didn't have trackers or was in a different circumstance as far as what personal or household items they needed swiftly - like a bed and clothing.
