Trying to do the right thing in a tight economy

Trying to do the right thing doesn’t work with Comenity, I had a balance due that I paid in full to take my account to a zero balance on the due date! I started receiving calls from Comenity saying that because I paid the balance after 5 on the due date that a late charge was added to my acct, and now a late charge has been charged to the late charge and on and on!!! I do not understand how if I paid to a zero balance on the due date how can you charge a late fee because it was paid after 5, last I checked a date stays the same until 11:59 pm!!,

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever spoken to. They are condescending, disrespectful, and careless. When I asked to speak to someone else, they said that there is no one else. Asked for senior management - there is no one else. Asked for the executive department - there is no one else. Asked for the legal department number - "There is no one else and what we say goes." Maybe their customer service representatives are attorneys; I mean, they must be if they are citing laws. Jared and Comenity Bank will never have my business again. It must be an anomaly that they have no record of me making my final payment and are sticking me with $4k in expired promotional interest. When offered to pay in full immediately, like I thought I had, nope pay all interest.

CONSUMER FRAUD

CONSUMER FRAUD: FILE WITH YOUR STATE’S ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE & RECORD YOUR CALLS WITH COMENITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS.
They acquired AAA Visa credit card from Bank of America. Since the acquisition, six months now, their website rejects access to register for access to my CC account. I have spoke with customer service numerous times wherein they state they are “upgrading their system and just keep checking back”. I was told paper statements can’t be sent to me until I register on their website. People are led by example, it is glaringly apparent Comenity is led by MORONS.
My consumer fraud complaint has been filed today with the STATE OF OKLAHOMA, ATTORNEY GENERAL, GENTNER DRUMMOND, CONSUMER FRAUD UNIT.

RUN, don't walk, AWAY FROM COMENITY!

After returning an item purchased online at JJill, using my JJill credit card, I called to be sure the item had been received. It was then I learned their card was through Comenity Bank. It was some time before I actually received a call from a representative who assured me my item had been received on or before the closing date of December 19. However, a few days later I received a past due notice with a huge late fee (more than the cost of the item!). Rather than battle with the criminal institution, I sent a check for the amount on the statement. However, THAT check has not cleared, leading me to believe they're going to try to continue their extortion for another month. The SEC should be investigating this sleazy operation. EVERYBODY. Stay away from Comenity!

Utterly dismal customer service

Comenity purchased AAA Visa card services from Bank of America. They failed to send workable cards. They failed to send both replacement cards. Their website failed to register me in order to eliminate paper statements. Each failure required an unacceptable level of pain to navigate the telephone barriers to a live agent for whom in the end English is not the first language.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. I only applied for the BJ's credit card because it offered $40 back from purchases. It's been over 3 months and still not able to get my $40. Also I was just on hold with the bank for over a hh three times today. They need to hire more help. Lousy bank to deal with. Never again.

AAA Preferred Rewards Visa - Steer Clear!

Soon to change to Travel Rewards. Opened my credit card account with them several months ago with a high limit and have had nothing but problems ever since. Initially, both my and my husband's cards were getting declined. They tried telling me it was the fault of the merchant's computers. However, I know the owner of the store quite well and was able to verify with him there was no problem at all on his end. Then, about a month in, their computers *glitch* and ALL autopays are declined for over a month...more like 2. As soon as that was supposedly resolved, their computers *glitched* again, causing their Rewards program to get all screwed up. They "hoped" to have that resolved in a month or so. The final straw came this morning. My husband ran out to the corner store, as he does every morning and attempted to make a purchase using his card, which he had used successfully there for the past 4 mornings. It was declined for "possible fraudulent activity". He was mortified, used another card and it went right through. I then called Comenity, or tried to. The number on the back of the card, which is not meant to be read by any human, as it is hidden and printed so small, it took a jeweller's loupe to make it out. After 20 minutes getting upset with the nice rep who answered, I was notified that she was with Visa Int'l, not Comenity and I would have to call them. (Shouldn't their number be on the card?) She gave me 2 numbers for them, neither of which worked. Finally I went online and tracked down a phone number. Got a rep, who had a bad attitude from the get-go. Told her I was very upset, not with her, but with Comenity. Went through what happened and she denied that it happened. Said it was denied because the expiration date didn't match. That makes no sense whatsover. The same card had been used at the same store successfully for several days and the owner showed my husband the declined message on his screen. By the way, I am a amn, with a VERY deep manly voice. The minute I mentioned my husband, she started addressing me as "M'am", with attitude and great disdain. I blew and demanded a supervisor. AT first, she refused and threatened to just disconnect me. I finally prevailed when I told her she had slipped early on and I had her name. Got a supe and went through everything all over again (the 3rd time and now at well over an hour and counting). The supe admitted it was turned down by Comenity, in error, and put me on hold to check with the fraud dept and make sure there were no problems on their end. She came back and told me they had experienced a computer *glitch* a couple of months ago, but had fixed it. I quickly let her know it wasn't fixed. She never did offer any reason as to why the card was declined, just reassured me the account was excellent and there would be no problems going forward.
As you can see, they have a lot of computer *glitches*. In other words, cheap computers, cheap software and an IT Dept. that barely knows how to boot up a computer. I will only be keeping the card, as the high limit and low usuage looks good on my credit report. But, I will only make one tiny puirchase every few months just to keep it active on my credit file. If you don't want CONSTANT problems or if you are Gay and don't want to deal with homophobic agents, look elsewhere. Comenity has been total cr*p.

I do not recommend this card!

I have had my Victoria secret by comenity bank credit card since 2015 and never had an increase since I opened it. I have had on time payments, increases salary and even spoke to a representative.

I was told sometimes the customers put the card on hold for no increase. About a year or two ago I was told they would take the hold off since I did not request to put it on hold but still no changes.

In store workers told me they had increased the same year several times since they open their accounts, yet mine stays the same. It’s not worth keeping if it doesn’t increase from $200

Don't go near this bank

Comenity Direct is an online savings branch of Comenity Bank. I have two experiences to report. 6 weeks after the account had been opened with a deposit of $20,000 there was still a daily limit of $2,000 on all outgoing transfers.

When I asked to speak to a senior manager to complain about this on two separate occasions I was put on hold. I ended the call 22 minutes as I had another appointment. On the second call I hung up after 54 minutes. I sent a message to complain about this treatment which was completely ignored in their reply.
