Traveled from walsall definitely worth the journey, amazing comic con loved every minute. Great merch stalls, awesome cosplay, overall perfect day out. I met jared padalecki from supernatural he was amazing, loved it and i didnt have to wait long in the ques as the times slots worked great. a good con just room for improvement

Me and my partner visited both days over the weekend where he got to meet the cast of his favourite film and he couldn’t be happier with that as the guests were all so nice and were more than happy to sign items and chat.

However we encountered so many issues during the day, especially on Saturday. We got let in at 10am with 11am entry tickets and had a pre booked time slot for an Andy Serkis autograph at 11:15, his queue was already wrapping around the building and seemed to be little to no organisation going on. The building was really hot and crowded, and as I struggle standing up for long periods of time especially in heat, a lovely staff member let me use her chair in the queue.

A member of staff came down the queue apologising to everyone and we received raffle tickets to come back for the next auto session as Andy had other things to do which is completely understandable so we moved onto our next time slot for a photo with the Mordor trio. There were multiple queues and no staff member we asked seemed to know which queue was which, and when asked, one staff member rolled her eyes and said she wasn’t dealing with it and went to stand with other staff chatting and laughing. My partner was the one to organise queues and asked people who they were waiting for and told them where to go, this isn’t acceptable when we’re paying customers, he shouldn’t be the one to guide other customers when staff say they don’t want to deal with it.

On Sunday, there seemed to be a calmer atmosphere and my partner had a diamond pass for that day as he had 4 autos and 4 photos.

As we began queueing for a Sean Astin photo, a couple who were deaf were asking questions to the staff at the front of the queue, regarding rules for the photos. My partner who works in event management and organisation recommended hiring a sign language interpreter to make this a better experience for the customer. They were put before us in the queue which isn’t a problem at all, but after their photo one of them walked back to Sean for a solo one, as he didn’t understand the rules regarding one ticket is one photo, this didn’t slow down the process as it took seconds, and Sean was more than happy to take the picture. However the same member of staff from the day before who handed out raffle tickets went to grab the customer and shouted saying he couldn’t do that and making him really confused and panicked. Sean Astin was the one who stood up for the customer and told the member of staff “they’re deaf, they can’t hear you” which the staff looked embarrassed and tried to apologise to Sean, who again was more than happy to take the picture, but didn’t apologise to the customer for shouting in his face. The staff member said they didn’t pay for a second picture but Sean clearly wasn’t bothered about the money and was using sign language back to the customer saying thank you. The couple left looking very confused and we felt this could of gone a lot smoother if there was an interpreter there. The guest and customer should not be put in that situation at all it was completely unacceptable, there were a few other staff around in the photo area and no one said anything, this was a highly uncomfortable situation and I hope this didn’t ruin the experience for the couple.

I bought a pay on the day photo with Billy Boyd just after this experience and as my partner was the only one with a diamond pass I asked if I could use his as this photo wasn’t planned and we had another timeslot next and made clear it wasn’t an issue if I couldn’t, and the response was “I mean you shouldn’t but I don’t care” and I got let through with diamond passes.

Overall it was a good con with great guests, it was just very overcrowded, we didn’t get much time to look around the stalls on Saturday despite only having one auto and one photo. The attitude of some of the staff was absolutely disgusting and made us feel very unwelcome.

Had a great time but needs some improvements

Was a great buzz and fantastic guests. The staff were lovely. I felt there should’ve been more selection of food stalls especially outside the venue. We were there the whole day of Saturday annd Sunday and hardly ate a thing purely on the lack of variety. It was frustrating after seeing the Q&A’s in hall 1A (green zone) we all had to leave out the opposite door which took you back into the red zone so we had a bit of a walk back to the green zone if you had anything scheduled there straight after. They are my only gripes. It was crazy busy but all in all we had a great time and will be back.

First time...what an experience!!

First time...what an experience. Was so excited to dress up and meet my favorites!! 2 things to consider...if you are having prepaid choose tome slots then divide the lines into 1 diamond 2 the time slot 3 all other prepaid 4 pay that day. Then those who prepaid are given priority. Better sound ....ie. give event staff mega phones or microphones so they don't have to yell. Was nice that panel was broadcast in the auto/photo room but impossible to hear. Was a great first time and I will be back!!

Good con with a room for improvement

This year's Comic Con was a lot bigger than previous ones, there was definitely enough activities to be busy the whole day and the guests were amazing.

Two things that I found frustrating were the lack of food choices and signs. The "Food Court" had only two vendors open, one selling burgers, one selling a sourdough pizza (£8). They were not prepared for the amount of customers and ran out of soft drinks around noon.
The venues were not colour coded, so we were often confused which venue are we in and which map to look at. there were not enough maps through the areas, the ones on the tvs didn't come up very frequently amd due to the colour coding issues, it was difficult to make out which event takes place in which venue.

an overall map rather than just separate maps of the individual venues would be useful too. especially marking where the food stalls are, toilets, seating etc.

Brilliant event, top notch.

Attended on the Sunday. Had an amazing day. Was even better than Star Wars Celebration last April. Took our packed lunch and water bottles in with no issues. Got the autos and photos we paid for no issues. Even got three more autos on the day. Again no issues. Hardly queued at all. Brilliant event. My daughter and I were judges choice in the cosplay masquerade. Kids enjoyed the Harry Potter potions class. Had the best family day out. Well done on a fantastic event.

Great Con and Potion Making

Great Con and Potion Making!
Loads of different vendors and stalls, for good prices.
I also attended a Harry Potter Potion Making Class for the 2nd time, and loved it just as much as the 1st! It's such a great interactive experience, while also getting a break from the hussle and bussle! Would be amazing to see them at the next con, would highly recommend!

Had a fantastic time at comic con

Had a fantastic time at comic con! Meeting the guests was amazing, panels were wonderful! Went to The Potion Making class TWICE it was so so good (Ps please bring them back for the next one!) Really enjoyed the arena being added, the added seats wereuch appreciated. Only issues were with the queues for the escalators - making a quite trip back up the stair nearly 15mins - this could have been solved by staff being allowed to let us in the doors which they had been able to do earlier on, instead of making us go through the arena.

Total respect to the celebs

First ever comic con.

Met the Hobbits. The four of them are truly amazing! Absolute legends.

The event itself has some work to do. We thankfully went on Sunday which was supposedly better than the mess that Saturday was…

The teeny tiny minuscule sad little time you get for your photo that you spend £300 on… is awful. I understand there’s a lot of people to get through but the rush is just so sad. I could barely talk to the legends anyway but that’s not the point.
Felt like customs at the airport.

Queueing an hour and a half before our slot just in case, and still being stressed about getting our photo wasn’t enjoyable.

The stalls were ok. The random boxes of used old toys were so car boot sale feeling…
So. Many. Funko. Pops.
If you don’t collect them - be prepared to see a lot 🤣

£5 for a donut…
It’s good you can leave the venue and return… we went for food and an outfit change.

The crowds were far too much!
Especially on escalators.

The updates and mistakes and changes that Monopoly/ Instagram did before hand was very nerve wrecking… seemed rather unprofessional..

Overall, I loved meeting Sean, Elijah, Dom and Billy. I don’t know how the celebrities do it if I’m honest. Complete respect to them.

Had a great day!

Had an amazing time at Liverpool Comic Con 2024, some great exhibitions and stalls! Loved the guests, gutted the photo up I wanted sold out before I got a chance to buy.
They could really use some better seating options though; I have a disability and was in a lot of pain after a few hours with nowhere to rest up, until we made it to the arena section. Also, some more, and varied, food options would be nice.
However, the event itself was brilliant and I had a wonderful time there. Looking forward to the next one!

Great variety of stars lots to do only…

Great variety of stars lots to do only downside was Monopoly making everything one way when you came out of a panel . Had to walk all the way round upstairs downstairs then to be hearded into a small space made no difference if you had physical or mental health problems. It made a quite dangerous crowd where there wouldn’t have been one . Arena staff were fantastic and not their fault yet they were the poor souls left dealing with it .

✨ Just keeps getting better and better ✨

3rd time coming to the convention, and every year you seem to make the convention better and better!
Few things can be improved. Queuing for example, me and my partner had a difficult and frustrating time waiting for Orlando bloom.
We asked 4 different people about what que to go in for the photo op and we got 4 different answers.
Then a supervisor got angry with us as according to them "we didn't listen to a word she was saying" which we found very rude.
I noticed all que supervisor had pieces of paper with what I assume was information regarding ques and guests. So getting multiple answers for one question didn't make sense.

*The opening party was a comic con themed kids party*

While I can't complain too much as the ticket was free but the overall vibe of the first comic con opening party was similar to a cheap child's birthday party.
The DJ wasnt good. He didn't say a word for nearly an hour and when he did speak, the mic was muffled and low quality.
The drag queens were great, but had no actual connection to comic con. Maybe if they focused there overall theme to films, games and overall comic con vibe then it would have made more sense.

*The opening of the arena was a god send!*

First time seeing the arena open for the convention was mind blowing!
More vehicles, props, stalls, activities then ever before! Getting a nice cold beer from the bar then sitting down to watch the cosplay and bands was a very weird yet relaxing feeling.

*Best opening party ever!*

Both me and my partner suffer from severe anxiety and depression. So of course at the start we were drinking by ourselves and being sociably awkward. But after abit, we got asked to take photos, join in on group conversations, and overall feel welcome! Craig Charles was brilliant, I was expecting more soul stuff but he honestly played different verity of songs, then surprising everyone with a full red dwarf reunion was just the greatest thing!

My only thought on improving the after party. When the after party was at mccains brewery, the DJ had video clips and music from different games, films and TV shows (LOTR, The witcher, stranger things, etc..) maybe add visuals to the big screen in camp and furnace instead of just the comic con logo. While also providing more songs relating to comic con, instead of just poppy music with 1 or 2 movie songs thrown in!

*Props to the main organiser!*

Running into the main man of comic con was a very surreal thing. You were honestly so lovely and approachable. I mentioned how I applied for a social media job for the convention and you generally seemed intrigued. I even have feedback for the overall convention and you took everything on board and it was truly a pleasure to meet you!

Lost money due to staff not being able to help

This is my second event in Liverpool. No complaints for the first visit however… they advertised this years May comic con as the biggest one they have done. This is great…. If the staff are able to help people in need. We had great difficulty navigating our way around even with the map. And whenever we asked a member of staff a question we just received ‘I don’t know mate’ and walking away. Aren’t the staff there to help out??

An escalator was broken so everyone was directed out and told to go to another entrance. No signs on the doors, nobody could tell us where to go, almost missed an expensive photo op 🙄. Then when we got to the photo stand I approached a staff member to ask how it works as I have never booked one before. He didn’t even look at me while I was talking just saying ‘go to the end of the line. Go to the end’. Shocking customer service, wouldn’t have minded if he had looked at me to show that he acknowledged I was talking to him and said if you stand here you can show your code when you get to this point… it’s a very chaotic and confusing place there are going to be people there that are unsure what to do. The photos aren’t really worth the price as you get rushed in and out in seconds and you don’t get shown the photo until it is printed.

We then had a paid Q&A booked for supernatural, we asked various staff to help us find the place (partially sighted and signs aren’t clear) and we were sent back and forth for half an hour to the wrong places. We ended up leaving without viewing the panel that we paid for because none of the staff knew where it was and it had already started!!!! I could have bought a single day pass instead of the weekend since we were unable to attend things and not had to pay for accommodation and travel!

Individual stalls are great. Lots of fan merch to choose from and large comic book stalls. Seeing everyone’s cosplay is great, remember to take lots of photos if you go to support the small businesses 👍🏻

Don’t make a convention even bigger if it’s just going to be even more chaotic and lose people money.
