DO NOT BUY FROM COMPUB AS THEY DON'T RESPECT CONSUMER LAW

I bought an iPhone but it was defective so I bought it back for a refund but managers there refused to give me a refund.

I took them to Small Claims Court and got a refund, though I was out of pocket for the filing fee, postage& printing costs.

On the day my case was being heard another person had brought the to court as well but due to Covid restrictions I could not hear the case.

I recently went to Compuhub to purchase a MacBook for my daughter and as the store was under renovation,I I decided to email them. My query was responded swiftly by Sasha Munar (remember that name). She handle my queries regarding student discounts and went out of her way to ensure my daughter got her MacBook Air. We collected it at the store with discount the discount and met Store Manager, Victor and his friend team. Once again thank for the great service. I will definitely be shopping there again.

Avoid this branch

I’ve had so many bad experiences in the Grafton Street branch I don’t know where to start. An arrogant and smug blonde boy would not even apologise for selling me the wrong leads for an iPad Pro, trying desperately hard to flip the blame on me, when it was blatantly obvious to everyone there that he was in the wrong. They are are always trying to push inferior non Apple alternatives at exorbitant prices on you. I could go on, but they drain me of energy quicker than an iPad battery, which is not covered by the warranty (by the way), and then they have the neck to ask for additional cash for Apple care +. Rip off merchants. Avoid this branch.

Non-service service call for a MacBook, avoid.

I had a service case on a MacBook Pro open with "service recommended" displayed under battery status with about 100 battery cycles but the battery capacity was still within the "green zone". However, the machine would randomly power down even with the battery at 9X%, and it would not power back up without connecting to the AC power. The very helpful Apple engineer agreed that this system should be repaired. Due to Covid-19 Apple made me an appointment with Compu B Dundrum last week to carry out the work, as onsite service was not possible for remote workers, and I dealt with a pleasant CompuB rep there. He sent the machine to be repaired but I was rather alarmed when first thing next morning I got an email stating "issue could be a false positive or software issue but Battery is ok" and the service engineer did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue so a total waste of time.

When I went to collect the system I made it clear that I was unhappy with the way the machine was working and offered to pay for a new battery on this business critical system instead of a warranty claim. My request was point blank refused after a brief phone call with the service engineer that had "checked" my machine. I had also provided a video of the machine suddenly shutting down on high battery level (happened so many times that I was able to actually capture this on my phohe) and the customer service rep commented on something along the lines "We can't use a customer video as an evidence as it could be doctored. I'm not saying that this is necessarily the case here but...". This same man also said that Compu B had recently had another Mac customer with the same symptoms and they could not repair it and it was basically pointless to try to solve this issue. "A new battery will not fix the issue as the old one is in perfect shape" was said. The battery is fine and that's it, end of, after three phone calls between the rep and the Compu B battery expert.

I was not happy and made sure I communicated this clearly. I accepted back my ailing machine and when at my destination when powered the machine on with the battery at 90 something state of charge the system would not have a chance to even finish booting up when it powered off. So out comes the charger again.

Anyway, luckily for at least for the Apple ACE customers, IBM are another service provider. However, the machine needs to be collected from a business location, which may not work for every under the current Covid situation. Long story short, this week I collected back my Mac which is now sporting a new battery and also a new keyboard and main logic board for some reason. I'm writing this on the machine using battery power with battery "Condition: Normal" and no more random power downs.

I recommend Compu B should take a note that if your customers complain about battery in "Condition: Service Recommended" it it not a glitch and if you cannot be bothered repairing these machines please send the customers back to Apple Care so that the case can be escalated and the IBM engineer can repair their machines.

2 stars because the customer service rep was pleasant on the day one at least.

Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service, brought my Mac in just to be checked cause that’s what Apple told me to do and they just took my Mac without saying a word and told me they’ll call me in 5-10 days. I haven’t even a clue what their gonna do. The staff was also extremely rude and condescending for no reason.

Avoid at all Costs

Star rating 0.So annoyed and disappointed with this company. I had an ipad ordered as a Santa present and within weeks it hadn't arrived so I took matters into my own hands and decided to contact them and I eventually got through via email, to be told my delivery won't be here for Christmas! Very disappointed and annoyed and now I have to wait 5-10 working days waiting on a refund. This is terrible customer service considering it is so close to Christmas. Never again will I deal with this company.

Avoid Compub

Would give no star at all if it would let me, sent a mail with a query and 8 days later still no reply after 2 days of sending the mail I called but was left holding for over 10 mins on 3 occasions before hanging up. Shocking service and would not recommend.

If you need you mac repaired go to the official apple dealers. you will regret if you dont as unlicensed repairers cannot get the parts legally and could take parts from your apple devices without your knowledge.

The staff is very arrogant, the service is slow

Brought a MacBook to replace the keyboard under the ‘free replacement program’ from Apple. They wanted me to pay €50 for a free repair with the excuse that they had to conduct a diagnose (not sure why they need a diagnose to see the keys where faulty from a known and acknowledged by Apple problem) the shop clerk should‘be known by just typing a sentence on it. They were also looking at 7-10 working days to get it fixed. Decided to contact Apple directly. They sent a free parcel to my home, apologised for the bad service in compub (they’re only a franchise) and had the laptop back in my doorstep in 4 days. All free and with really nice and polite staff.

We understand in current times there might be delays, but is the staff attitude that push you away from the shop. I believe they’re underpaid, but they are an embarrassment to Apple. All it takes is to show some nice manners and been polite to your customers, instead you’d find cocky beard boys that somehow feel like Apple Gods or something 😂.

It’s a shame. I’m sure a small cultural change and that shop would win lots of new happy customers by just ‘being nice and polite’ instead of arrogant

delivery time ridiculous

I bought an Apple Watch online from compub on the 7th of may, it said 7-10 business days for dispatch which in itself is silly, It has yet to be dispatched and the guy on web chat support says itl be the 29th before it’s dispatched but I’m not holding my breath. Absolutely pathetic in my opinion, If I had known it would take this long I wouldn’t have bought it here at all. Defintley wouldn’t recommend buying here, it would be faster to buy from apple direct.

Outstanding Service in Compu B Cork

I travelled all the way from Kerry this morning to have my wonderful Apple I Mac repaired.I did not have an appointment and all I can say is that the staff here were simply the best.Johnny was the man who made me feel so welcome and could not do enough to assist me. His knowledge of Apple products is unreal and his kind and caring attitude is a credit to him. Out of 10 Johnny would be getting 20 from me and I genuinely mean that. Even though my product has yet to be repaired I have the upmost confidence that it will be sorted when they have a chance. Either way I had such a pleasant and friendly experience today that I just had to express it and also a special thank to the other man working with you as well today. Sorry didn’t get his name. I hope Compu B that you appreciate the wonderful staff you have in your Cork store . Keep up the good work Johnny and continued success to you all. Padraig Herlihy CASTLEISLAND CO Kerry. Thank you to Johnny and Danny in CompuB (Opera Lane)!

My laptop (of 7 years) died last week during the write-up of my Masters theses - not ideal! After paying to fix it elsewhere but to no avail, I bit the bullet and went to Compu B on Opera Lane (Cork) to see if I could get some advice. Johnny and Danny at Compu B were absolutely amazing - Johnny helped me find exactly what I was looking for (MacBook Air), spent time with me to set it up and kitted me out with great accessories (laptop bag and adapter cable) at an amazing price. The guys were super patient and it was obvious they really cared, both about what they were doing but also about their customers. Here's to the next seven years of perfectly working tech! Thanks again Johnny and Danny, God knows I'll be back for advice again soon :)

One Month Refund - Still not here.

I have returned an Apple TV for €219 on the 24th of December & CompuB have failed to inform me for any updates. They always promise that they will ring but I have popped in store, rang the Switch and taking my own personal time to receive my refund back. This is totally unacceptable that I have to do all the work when an issue has clearly been on their side. This is upsetting, as I was told that the €219 Apple TV was the only one they had when they actually had alternatives that fit my budget and pressured me to purchasing this, instead of telling me when they will have this in stock. So now, I am out of €219 and it is now the 14th of January. Absolutely devastating that they are not rectifying this.
