Very disappointing experience.
We booked transport for a business event and paid by international bank transfer, sending proof of payment as soon as it was made. Unfortunately, the funds did not reach their account before their internal deadline, so they refused to honour the booking and we had to make alternative arrangements at the last minute.
Although they ultimately received our payment for a service they never provided, they refused to issue a refund. Instead, they relied on their terms and conditions to refuse us a refund.
I appreciate that businesses are entitled to set their own terms, and technically they acted in line with those terms. However, there was no flexibility or goodwill whatsoever. At no point was it made sufficiently clear that cleared funds (not simply proof of payment) were required by a strict deadline. Had we known this was time-critical, we could have paid for an expedited international transfer to ensure the money arrived the same day.
Keeping half of a customer's payment for a service that was never delivered, while offering only a credit note that is unlikely to be of any use, left a very poor impression. We won't be using Connecto Transport again.
