This is my 5+ order now since November, absolutely love the products that cool hog do. Salt and vinegar in the flavour i will always return for.

Such a treat! We have ordered several times now and have never been let down. The scratchings and the crunch are equally good/ moorish.

This company doesnt make pork scratchings. They make an addiction to pork scratchings as their flavours are so good. In order of preference salt & vinegar is first, second is curry, third is bacon.

There was nice apart from the garlic ones no just taste like normal no flavour of garlic

I’ve ordered from Cool Hog Snacks a few times now and they’ve never disappointed. The pork scratchings are consistently excellent — proper crunch, great flavour, and not overly greasy like some you get elsewhere.
There’s a really good range of flavours to choose from as well, so it doesn’t feel like you’re just getting the same thing every time. Delivery has always been quick and everything arrives well packaged.
What stands out most is the quality — you can tell these aren’t mass-produced in the same way as supermarket versions. They feel like a proper treat rather than just a snack.

This was my first time ordering and i ordered 3 packs of original for 39.99 and when they arrived one of the bags was split at the bottom of the pack which meant the pork crackling inside had gone damp and had to be thrown away

Past 4 times I’ve ordered have been great, quick delivery and a great product!

Mixed Feelings on the Mystery Box – Great Products, But It Could Be Better

I bought the £59.99 mystery box, which is advertised as having £99+ worth of products. I may have misunderstood how that value is calculated, but after pricing the items individually on the website it seemed much closer to around a £10 saving.

It looks like the £99+ value is probably based on full RRP pricing, whereas many of the products appear to be sold at discounted prices on the site most of the time. Because of that, the mystery box didn’t really feel like a huge bargain compared to simply choosing the items yourself.

What was in the box:
• 3 × 1kg bags of pork scratchings (Curry, BBQ, Salt & Vinegar)
• A bag of blue sour fizzy sweets (these were absolutely banging)
• An assortment of other sweets
• Vegan wine gums, which tasted really good
• Two cookies

Negatives first:

The cookies contain palm oil, which personally put me off. For a smaller brand trying to build something unique, it might be worth reconsidering that ingredient.

The shelf life on some items was also fairly short — around a month, which is worth knowing when you’re receiving larger quantities like 1kg bags.

The biggest downside for me though was the lack of variety. Looking at the website, Cool Hog seems to have a really interesting range of flavours and products, which is exactly why I bought the mystery box in the first place — I wanted to try a variety of the range. Instead, I ended up with three large bags of pork scratchings in different flavours, which are great, but it didn’t really feel like I was discovering much of what they offer.

Because of that, I’d personally rather spend the £60 choosing exactly what I want rather than receiving items I wouldn’t normally buy.

Now the positives:

The pork scratchings are absolutely top tier. Proper Black Country style scratchings and genuinely some of the best I’ve had. I’ve only finished the curry flavour so far (it had the shortest shelf life), and the flavour works unbelievably well.

Even after opening the bag, they didn’t go stale, which impressed me given the size of the bags.

The blue sour sweets were also fantastic and actually a great addition to the box. It’s something I probably wouldn’t have bought myself, but after trying them I’d happily buy them again — so that part of the mystery box idea definitely worked.

Overall:

To be clear, the issue isn’t the quality — the products themselves are excellent — it’s just the format of the mystery box.

I’d definitely buy from Cool Hog again, especially the pork scratchings and those blue fizzy sweets.

However, I probably wouldn’t buy the mystery box again. I think it would work much better if it included smaller portions and a wider variety of flavours, so it actually feels like you’re discovering more of the range rather than just receiving large quantities of a few products.

If the mystery box ever changed to smaller bags with more variety, I’d definitely consider giving it another go.

I’ve been looking for a pork scratchings for awhile now and nobody sells a decent one so so I thought I will try cool hog
So I have just bought two original tubs and I can say they’re the best pork scratching I have ever had and I would definitely buy again

After hearing the hype of this store, I set out to locate it. After finding it (quite obvious 🤦🏻‍♂️) the store was well presented with friendly and attentive staff. I made a bulk purchase as a gift. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. I highly recommend giving these guys a visit. Such a unique business. Well done guys
