Matthews Cotswold Flour Reviews 

Generally have been decent over the years, but recently (say over the last year) have had a lot of out of stocks on the 16kg bags. It's disappointing and I may have to look for another supplier. I will update this review if they sort out the problem.

Edit: upgraded to three stars as they suddenly have what I want, but several other flour types remain out of stock.

Been using Mathews Cotswold flour since 2019 the best bakes possible from superior flours. Anyone thinking a 49p bag of supermarket will do ?!? Seriously trust the best for results that people notice.

I have tried a fair number of varieties of flours and they have all come up well in bred and other bakes. won over from other suppliers!

Very pleased with the Cotswold flour product. I am using the Churchill flour for sourdough,and it's great. New to baking,but turning out good stuff. Need too sort hydration a bit sticky at moment...

I have been trying different flours for bread and pasta making for a while and have moved towards bread with traditional flours used by our ancestors. I can honestly say I have never known any bread to last as long or stay so fresh, comes from the freezer as if just out the oven. I bought a bag each of all the ancient grains and the Canadian flour all fantastic. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys making bread to try them I mix 150 grams of each flour with 500 grams of Canadian to try and create a bread close to Ezekiel bread and it’s fantastic no bloating and flavour and texture lovely. I will not buy my flour from anywhere else the quality is brilliant and delivery quick

The organic wholemeal is very good flour. Ordering is easy and efficient, delivery is quick and packaging robust. All round excellent.

Placed an order on 19th May, its now 2nd of June and my order is still being prepared , no one can say when I might receive it , I’m fobbed off they have had my money I want my flour , they don’t reply to emails I’ve phoned and they don’t know which prompted a reply to an email days ago that just stated the status of my order will change once it’s shipped ? Emailed again two days ago nothing, request cancel and refund NOTHING
Bought from this company several times great flour and delivery was prompt ,
But customer service is non existent avoid !!now going to raise a dispute with PayPal

Used 300gms wholemeal and 300gms white strong flours with about 75gms (Lidl) mixed seeds and about 400gms water. Together they made just about the most strong and gluten dough I've ever used. The seeds and wholemeal held back the final rise a little and I've yet to taste the bread but it's looking good as it cools.

I'm no expert, but the flour made lovely bread.

Great quality flour, makes baking perfect loaves a given.

I regularly bulk buy from this great business. with the variety of flours available second to none. In addition when occasional I have bought a flour that I am not familiar with, sound advice is forthcoming to imrpove the loaf on future bakes.

My usual is order 30kg and to keep baking cost down most loaves are made in a Panasonic Bread Maker each day I always get consistent results. 100% recommend

I’ve recently tried the Strong White Bread Flour and the Pizza Flour. The latter has produced really superb results for my homemade pizza bases. The finished dough is light, crisp and easy to slice even when covered in bubbling hot toppings.
Likewise, the bread flour has enabled me to make soft, white bread rolls for packed lunches, with no additives or unnecessary ingredients. Great products, well packed and delivered promptly with care. Thank you so much!

Have dealt with Matthews Cotswolds Flour on a couple of occasions as cannot purchase my flour in the local supermarket. Easy and quick to order my flour on line. Love the bread it makes and highly recommend them.

I love these flours. I make all our bread, plus cakes and pastry, and the flours are all great. I prefer products grown in the U.K. and also organic if possible and everything from Matthews really suits both sour dough and bread machine. I changed to Matthews from another well-known U.K. flour supplier some years ago as these seem to work better for the styles of bread my family like.

Good quality flour. good service. In my opinion the organic Cotswold Crunch has a better flavour than the regular flour.

I bake a lot of cakes for friends and to order from time to time!
I honestly do not like any other Flour than Costswold. I found out recently how good it actually is by buying a cheaper flour supermarket brand, whilst mine was ready to be colleted OMG the cakes so bad it went into the bin. It was awful. You can not get better results for cakes pastries etc by using MATTHEWS COSTWOLD FLOUR! Blows my mind at how good it is and personally now it's worth every single penny your never regret buying it.

There is always a good range of flours, personally I only purchase bread flour, there is a good range and it encourages you to experiment.
