Cover4Rentals Totally Unhelpful
Just had a web chat with Cover4Rentals, absolutely hopeless. I simply wanted them to remove my payment details for any future purchases as I did not want to renew my policy and their renewal email noted that my credit card details were held and ready for any renewal payment. I did manage to cancel the auto-renew. When I purchased the policy last year there was not option not to save my card details. They gave me a load of waffle about needing to save customer data. Pretty much any online account I have both offers the option to save or not save card details on any payment transaction plus allows you to delete them afterwards if saved and not needed again. It seems different rules apply to just them!!!

They renewed my insurance automatically…
They renewed my insurance automatically without my permission! I didn't even need the cover for another year, yet they charged me anyway. This is a completely unacceptable way to treat customers. Be extremely wary before signing up with this company—they'll happily renew your policy without your clear consent. I definitely won't be using them again.

Much cheaper than the car hire company…
Much cheaper than the car hire company by at least a factor of 10.
Straightforward to buy.
Unfortunately had to make a claim. Process is online and reasonably straightforward although I experience one or two issues with the process when it would not let me upload some documents. Had to message them with the documents so at one point I had 2 processes running.
Knowing what was required to make a claim beforehand would have been useful ( may have been my fault for not readinthe t&C's)
Whole process took about 6 weeks but still worth the saving. Will know better next time if there is one.
Recommended.
