My husband and I booked a private tour for two weeks based on the group tour , with some alterations.
No problem arranging the trip.
A problem arose when we flew to Oaxaca in the morning where we had arranged for a walking tour in the afternoon. There was no information at the hotel what time this would take place. The phone number for the local agent was invalid,so we contacted the National call number we had been given who were very efficient. However , it seemed nothing had been arranged and we had to wait for two hours for an emergency guide. Likewise for the tour to Monte Alban the following morning nothing seemed to be arranged . So again we contacted the National number and many , many, many texts and phone calls later established
the next days tour.
The rest of the tour went as planned and all guides were good as was accomodation.
Good choice of luxury experiences and most (if not all) can be customised. We chose to upgrade flights and accommodation but the rest is organised for us by Cox & Kings.

Our guide Kavi was fantastic, and so knowledgeable. The driver was quite amazing as we were in a small van on very narrow windy roads which often had hairpin turns. He made us all feel safe. We loved the visits to different relgious centers: Sikhism, Tibetan Buddhism and Hindu.

The highlights of our holiday:
* Pre-holiday support with visas - really helpful.
* Prem, our tour guide, was BRILLIANT! I cannot speak highly enough of him - his ability to manage the group, his humour, his knowledge and his patience were all excellent.
* Transfers, trains, bus, drivers, local guides and flights were very good indeed.
* The Meridien, The Clark's Shiraz, The Taj Chandigargh were excellent hotels.
* Visiting Gandhi's cremation site was humbling and moving.
* Obviously, the visits to The Taj and The Baby Taj, The Red Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Chand Baori Stepwell, Jakhu Temple and Viceregal Lodge were all excellent.
* Ramgarh Lodge was truly one of the highlights. Staying here was just fabulous.
* The Toy Train journey was superb, and the scenery spectacular.
* The additional day's activities on 03.03.25 were most welcome and really well-planned.
So, in all, an absolutely brilliant holiday! Many thanks to all the Cox & Kings team.

This was both my first solo trip and visit to India, on all levels the trip exceeded expectation. The tour was amazing and although busy, with some longer travel days it was absolutely worth it to experience the chaos and colour of India.
Our guide was excellent. He was both knowledgeable about the many sites we visited as well as ensuring all in the group were well looked after throughout. There was one hiccup along the way as the hotel in Jaipur was somewhat below par. Our guide dealt with this very well as did the Abercrombie and Kent representative who was on site with a short time to deal with the groups concerns.
I would have no hesitation in booking with Cox and King in the future and in travelling solo once again.

Our group tour with Cox & Kings was interesting and gave us the opportunity to see many different places across Mexico. The other travellers were good company and our guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining.

We had an excellent tour of Morocco, particularly insightful for those interested in historic and cultural aspects. The guide was very knowledgeable and took care with all the guests, especially elderly travellers, nothing was too much trouble. However for us there was rather too much travel involved, some long bus journeys, but that did enable us to go from the Rif mountains in the north to the Sahara desert in the south and see many beautiful cities in-between.

I have just returned from an amazing holiday in Sri Lanka booked through Cox and Kings. Sher, who organised our tailor made itinerary was excellent and ensured saw a large part of the country and experienced the culture. Sher's in depth knowledge of the country and the hotels ensured the trip met all our requirements. The service offered by Cox and Kings was excellent. Nothing seemed too much trouble and there was great attention to detail. The hotels were absolutely fabulous. The driver we were allocated could not have been better and not only did he add extra visits but he looked after us with great kindness. I would certainly book with Cox and Kings again.

Returning to Saudi Arabia after 23 years was a great experience. So much has changed and our guide, Ahmed, made sure we saw as much as possible. We visited some amazing historical sites, Hegra in Al Ula, Dadan tombs, Al-Balad old town Jeddah. The jeep ride through the Sharran Reserve spotting wild oryx was unforgettable.

Just returned from the "Natural Splendours of Cost Rica" tour. This was the first time we have used C & K, and also the first time we have had to travel around in a group and stay in several hotels where we would normally stay in one location - so were a bit apprehensive. We had no reason to be concerned, as the holiday was first class, our guide "Andreas" was excellent with first class knowledge, as was our driver "Edwin". The wildlife, food and accomodation was very good and Andreas made sure we were all happy and he always went "the extra mile". We started off as 18 strangers on the tour but finished as 18 friends - we would have no issue with using C & K again.

We have used C&K eight times and each trip has been excellent. The key is our trips are tailored to our specific interests so every day has something interesting to see and do, there are no shortage of events and activities to enjoy. We are always accompanied by a local guide and they are invariably knowledgeable and willing to take us off the beaten track if they know something new or novel is taking place. Also the drivers who take us from place to place are knowledgable, friendly and very safe drivers (importnat as driving can be chaotic in India). The hotels chosen always meet our needs.

The hotels and content of the tour were very good. The food included in the package was also excellent. The bus on which we were travelling was not so good and thoroughly underpowered for the job, making for slow transfers between stops. The Tour Manager was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and also helpful with personal requests.

We booked our holiday travelling around South America with cox and king. We gave them a rough itinerary around a tour they did but wanted it extending plus a few extra add ons. Our travel agent helping with our trip was Angela Pullinger, Angela was absolutely amazing, she worked so hard putting together an amazing trip at the best possible price, she kept in touch with us throughout and answered any questions we had, we have all booked many holidays before but Angela was brilliant and the trip was just incredible. The personal service cox and king put on for us throughout the entire trip was mind blowing, we were picked up in private transfers, had personal guides and drivers, amazing hotels, incredible trips and tours, breakfast and other meals, airport check in assistance, it was another level and like I said we are all very well travelled but this holiday they booked us was outstanding. I can only say cox and king are a brilliant travel company and we have told everyone this and Angela was the best. If I could give more stars I would and it would be more then we'll deserved. Thank you and can't wait for next one with them.

This was an excellent tour which introduced you to a number of amazing Mesoamerican sites and Spanish colonial towns. Better coverage of Diego Rivera, Mexico’s most famous artist, would have been a definite plus while one was in the Mexican capital. A couple on the tour had actually arrived a couple of days early in order to do this. Our guide found a government ministry that was open during a day of political demonstrations that had a whole range of his earlier murals whilst other buildings had had to close. But probably not enough time was available to see a good sample of them anyway and it might be a good idea in future to consider replacing a visit to the San Juan food market - which was not particularly popular with people on the tour - with more coverage of this important artist. The San Juan market visit was a bit of a disaster anyway as two of us were separated from the main group by a dishonest cyclist who succeeded in extorting money from us.
The final hotel, the Hacienda Chichen Itza, was a very pleasant way to end the tour.

Our Indian experience was excellent. Our guide Ash was knowledgeable and thoughtful. He told us lots of facts about history, religion, local life, marriage and customs which enriched our travels. Any questions were answered.
Amritsar and Varanasi were off the usual routes and longer journeys but well worthwhile. The safari great fun but be aware not everyone sees a tiger as they are scarce.
Hotels were changed after booking which we were upset about. However, the standard of hotels was high and those more business like were very short stays and the more characterful hotels we were able to enjoy for longer avoiding most rather noisy weddings which occur at this time of year.
Our itinerary was busy but we have returned with many fabulous memories and a better understanding of India.
The Kerala extension was very enjoyable but we have advised a few adaptations which may make the extension better from seeing and learning about local life and the beautiful birds.

Our travel consultant (David) did a great job arranging our next vacation. He was attentive, enthusiastic and very helpful.
