I used CHJ awhile back

I used CHJ awhile back. They were extremely helpful. In particular a young solicitor that left.
I came back to ask for assistance in an extremely sensitive matter regards safeguarding abuses including phone abuses by head teachers against victims. I was told by reception you no longer do family law which was either a LIE or a mistake and if it is a lie that is in itself unlawful. I asked them to call me back about a different but related issue regards a dreadful landlord and that never happened either.

Avoid Cozens-Hardy

From start to finish, appalling service this firm should be avoided.

Avoid Cozens-Hardy at all costs. My lease extension was handled by Rebecca Edwards, who ignored emails, failed to respond to critical Land Registry questions, and never told me the lease wasn’t registered. This mistake caused my house sale and purchase to collapse.

When I raised a complaint, Dan Evans showed the same behaviour – nine months and 30+ emails later, he has still not provided any decision or compensation, just empty promises.

I’ve now had to involve the Legal Ombudsman and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. In my experience, this firm cannot be trusted to act professionally or in their client’s best interests.

No win not taking on…

Because of an advert on my fracture clinic appointment card, I approached Karen Smith having had an accident to seek compensation on No Win No Fee basis. After she had been on leave for two weeks she advised that she would not take case because it would be difficult to prove reasonable steps had not been taken by the accused company to ensure I would be reasonably safe. Therefore wouldn’t win. She also suggested that the company concerned may also show there had not been any other incidents. I fell over a barrier 51cm high beside a trolley park. Social media replies show others having the same happen to them. Interestingly this said company have now removed this barrier and it’s associated trolley park! I have gone elsewhere to a firm who seem to have much more support and on a NoWinNo fee basis. I won’t recommend Cozens-Hardy.

Terrible

Terrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. House move got delayed due to incompetence by this solicitors. Did not need the extra stress involved in an already stressful situation. Unable to recommend and felt like other clients were more important. Not recommended! Attempted to contact as described. No one answered in the end so given up on contact from this company.

Terrible Service

My partner is going to lose her house because of the incompetency of these solicitors. We've had to chase 3x a week (minimum) to get answers throughout the process, told not to worry about timelines, been lied to about certain documents being sent off, we've had misinformation passed to us, which when dealing with H2B (which they should be doing) they've highlighted incorrect bits of information, such as the value of the house and mortgage offer (how can you even get that wrong?) which has delayed the process for so long, even with a mortgage extension, it's resulted in us not being able to keep the house due to her shifts at the NHS changing. It's absolutely shocking and they should be ashamed of themselves. Terrible, terrible solicitors firm.

Bordering on completely incompetent

Bordering on completely incompetent. Why any one would use this firm is beyond me. Ice ages come and go faster than any progress on the simplest of tasks.

Update: CH continue to delay exchange/completion for absolutely no reason. First they requested wrong amount from buyers bank, then said exchange in 3 days, then 1 week and now being flaky about that. It’s almost as if they like sitting on their clients funds and earning the interest themselves 🤷🏻‍♂️

Utterly appalling

Utterly appalling. Their service was terrible from start to finish. They were incredibly slow, didn't reply to emails and then told me 2 days before we exchanged that they needed several documents otherwise they couldn't exchange, incredibly stressful for me. Also when they had to transfer funds to me after completion, it took over 5 weeks for them to send out a cheque. It was clear that if I hadn't kept chasing this up, they would have kept this money. I would never recommend this firm to anyone.
